TrackMasters Returning To “Save Hip Hop”
Funny thing, I was JUST saying to myself WTF happened to TrackMasters? Logged online and wah lah! Peeped this over at Nah Right. Come to find out Tone & Poke were holed up in the studio cranking out a staggering 230 songs! Talking about putting in that twerk, wow. They are working with a vast array of artists including rappers Punchline and Fight Klub alum Iron Solomon. R&B crooners Quo, Range and the Wonder Twins are called upon to pen what will hopefully become your favorite artist’s next smash single. They’ve also snatched up a slew of new producers to showcase their skills on the boards, sweet. What I found most interesting is that they’ve enlisted a cat name Spanador, who plays live instruments to not only recreate samples but put the funk back in the music, giving it that vibratory feel that once made tunes memorable, and not disposable like the radio fillers that are clogging up the airwaves these days. Lookin’ forward to hear what these sonic architects are working with. On their quest to “save Hip Hop” will the TrackMasters bring what’s needed to resurrect a limping art form? We’ll see. Peep the philosophy behind the grind though, sounds like they at least got they mind right:
“We’ve completed more than 230 full songs. That means intros, verses, hooks, breaks, choruses, bridges, live instruments, all that — in three months,” Tone brags. “That’s enough joints to last a few years.”
