Curtis Jackson aka 50 Cent continues to ink deals that will expand his brand into new corporate territory. Jackson recently partnered with Steiner Sports, joining the ranks of Tony Hawk, Miquel Cotto, Lou Gehrig and others who market memorablia from their illustrious careers. As artists venture into other avenues of business to assure they stay afloat in these challenging times, essentials like touring and merchandising will become the lifeblood of their sustainable careers. In Jackson’s case, Steiner Sports interests lie in selling his “concert-worn apparel, autograph signings, autographed photos, movie released products and other 50 Cent branded products,” according to the New York Post.
“He’s an authentic guy who gets the business portion of his career,” said Robert Vazquez, the director of talent procurement. “We have access to [in-flight magazine] SkyMall, to Neiman-Marcus and to corporate clients that might not be familiar with 50 Cent.”
In related news Jay-Z finalized a deal last Thursday (5/1) with concert conglomerate Live Nation to handle his merchandising with similar accomodations. 360 deals of the nature will presumably become the norm as everyone opts to supplement their income with merchandising.
