As the days since this story broke have piled up, so has the most dishearthening and disgusting info about this man’s behavior toward his family.
Elisabeth Fritzl was forced to help build the dungeon where she was kept by her sadistic father Josef, it emerged yesterday.
For the first nine months of her 24 years in captivity, she was also tethered with a 5ft dog leash around her neck to prevent her escape.
For the first nine years, he imprisoned her in a grim 15ft by 15ft box room which had a makeshift toilet in one corner.
She told police that Fritzl forced her to help drag a 600lb concrete and steel door into position to seal the dungeon.
He forced her to dig out the chambers by hand, working for hours at a time. The process took nearly a decade.

As I am gathering the information and checking out the pics, the so called dungeon really is not as disgusting as the reporters have described.The bathroom looks cleans and even has cute pics hung up seemingly by the kids. Check out all the pics, it does not look like a dungeon at all, plus he expanded the living quarters as they had more kids. Why would they not band together to escape at some point during 24 years?
I think there more to this story that meets the eye.
I feel that in many cases, like this one, children are taught from birth, that this is how the world is and they dont know any better.
Who do they have to ask about this? The very parents that are doing it to them.
There are a lot of unanswered questions. Apparently Elisabeth and her kids were kept behind a total of 8 locked doors. The oxygen is so rescricted down there they would have had very little energy for activity at all, very little physical (or mental afer that torture) energy to fight back. the biggest question is the mother. Didn’t know? why the hell didn’t she bother to find out where her daughter diappeared to? where all the kids that appeared on her doorstep came from. didn’t know? try another one
what a bloody picture paste on the wall meant. these pictures just to tell how he cares for the children and feel no guilty. i think this real bastard (josef) should torture slowly so that he can feel the pain as how he tortured elisabeth. just to get his sexual gratification he used his own flesh to do it, he just worst than animal. how a developed country like austria let this criminal activities going on without knowing this was happening around the country. the police handled elisabeth should not send her back to her parent when she escaped at teenage. there must be a reasoned for her to escape from her parent. these police are just bunch of idiot for not investigating the case properly.
This torturer, sadist, rapist, pedophile, killer of babies would probably enjoy being castrated. This way he would be fixed like the dogs. It is his turn to be treated like a dog. Elizabeth was treated like a dog–tied to a pole with a dog leash and he left her food for 9 months in a tiny room to be raped repeatedly. He is 73 years of age — if he gets early release he is a DANGER to society and someoneelse’s children — he will always be on the prowl for another victim. Do they have a sex offender list so they keep track of these scumbags? I think not.
what is so sad is that she actually had to give birth in the dungeon all by herself, no medical help just that crazy guy. & he gave her books to read so she could figure it out herself! & not just 1 kid, 7 kids! I also read some of the kids can’t even speak properly, they’ve never been around anyone else & some of the kids have never even seen daylight! What a monster! I am so grateful there is a God and He says “the vengeance is all mine!”
The question is not what the dungeon looked like but that the daughter in fact lived in a dungeon, was sexually abused from her childhood in that dungeon and had 7 children for her father in that ‘comfortable’ dungeon!

Just because there are pictures on the wall does not mean everything was ok. When there is a problem in your life, go hang a picture on the wall and tell me if that makes everything better.
This is the worse thing that I have ever heard. I think it should be left onto the family to decide what to do with this bastard. I would give all my savings to watch this guy be tortured. You IDIOT initially she was confined to a single room that was pitch black with nothing but a makeshift toilet in one corner. She was chained by a dog leash around the neck. It was only after 9 years or so that he forced her and her children to dig through the earth so that he could add rooms for the expanding “family” And, so what that he later allowed decorations! As IF that made everything else OK! That’s like thinking hell isn’t such a bad place to live because you happen to find a picture hanging on the wall.
It is ridiculous and insulting to her and her kids to suggest that their is more to the story. The cell dosen’t look so bad? Obviously she excepted her life and tried to make it as normal as poss. it is the most sick, horriable thing I have heard. Like people in prison decorate their cell.
I think what he meant was that the relationship between her and her father changed over those 24 years. I mean, he had 24 years to break her spirit and brainwash the living daylights out of her. At the end, she probably didn’t even fight back, and the idea of escaping her new “home” never crossed her mind.
On another note, this guy is seriously messed up. I wonder what his parents did to him.
