Cusack to star in apocalyptic ‘2012′

Over the next few years we will be hearing more and more about the end of the world in 2012. Various cultures including the Mayan civilization have predicted the destruction of the world as we know it. Even Lil Wayne has been speaking lately about these prophecies. Well Hollywood is gearing up and set to capitalize on these theories. Read below:

John Cusack is to star in German film-maker Roland Emmerich’s latest apocalyptic thriller “2012,” entertainment industry press reported on Tuesday.

Emmerich, the director of special effects-laden blockbusters such as “Independence Day” and “The Day After Tomorrow,” co-wrote the screenplay for the movie, which will start filming in July.

Emmerich’s film begins with a global disaster which ends life as we know it before following the struggles of those who survive.

Cusack, most recently seen in “Martian Child” and the supernatural thriller “1408″ has already signed on for “2012,” Daily Variety reported.

Cusack, whose other films include “High Fidelity,” “Must Love Dogs” and “The Grifters,” will next be seen in the satire “War Inc,” due for release in the US later this year.
