Devonna Hines and Antoine Perkins are charged with murder in the slaying of 41-year-old Kathy Hines.
A Jan. 3 911 call from Devonna Hines led police to her mother’s body in the home they shared at least part-time. Kathy Hines had been shot multiple times.

The news of Ford’s Senate interest was immediately received with the type of vitriol typically reserved for the Becks and Palins of the world. Instantly branded “anti-Gay” by important and influential LGBT blogs, Ford’s unimpressive record on LGBT issues was touted as proof-positive he has no business holding office in his adopted home-state.
The criticism hurled against Ford was both expected and warranted. Yet I could not help but recoil at seeing yet another Black democrat skewered by White Gay leaders with zero concern for the implications of their actions. Picked apart by bitter bloggers even before he’d had a chance to lay out his New York agenda, Ford was cast as a carpet-bagging bigot and yet another Black man out to get the Gays.
The question is now who will get the plum role of Spiderman. Was not a big fan of Tobey Maguire. Let the casting begin.

Teen crime-fighter Dave Lizewski doesn’t possess any superpowers, but he does boast enough balls to don a green-and-yellow costume, hit the streets and start beating up on bad guys.
That’s the back story rolled out in the latest trailer for Kick-Ass, the upcoming movie about ordinary joes who take criminal-bashing to extraordinary lengths. Based on the comic book series by Mark Millar and John Romita Jr., the movie follows the adventures of Lizewski, aka Kick-Ass, and his fellow amateur superheroes, Hit-Girl, Big Daddy and Red Mist. A previous red-band trailer showed Hit-Girl in action, cutting off limbs and doing major damage to thugs — not bad for an 11-year-old girl.

Found this great article from my new favorite blogger Anil Dash, who exposes the reality of celebrities like Ashton Kutcher and Kim Kardashian with large Twitter followings that reach in to the millions. Though these guys have relished in the fact of cracking a million followers, Anil challenges that there is absolutely no value in running up the Twitter follower scoreboard. He gives great analysis on actually being put on Twitter’s suggested user lists and getting hundreds of thousands of new followers. Fantastic analysis and should be an article for individuals, small businesses and major corporations to read when crafting their social media campaigns.
Last week, I wrote a bit about what it’s like to be on Twitter’s suggested user list. The response to that post has been really gratifying, and I wanted to share a bit of what I’ve learned, as well some of the more interesting responses.
First, to recap: I had about 18,000 followers of my own back in October, when I got added to the suggested user list. (Let’s call these “organic” followers.) If I’d have continued my normal rate of growth, i’d have about 25,000 followers today, but thanks to being on the list, I’ve got close to 300,000 followers. Surprisingly though, I only get as many retweets and replies as I’d get with my organic number of followers.

Police said the body of Maureen Allaben of suburban Tucker was recovered from her husband’s truck after he drove from the Atlanta area to Virginia — to drop off their two children with relatives, according to one account — and then returned.
