Police have clashed with hundreds of demonstrators in the U.S. city of Oakland. It happened when hundreds marched to show their anger at police clearing an “Occupy Wall Street” camp. Officers shot several rounds of tear gas into the crowd, who were trying to reclaim their position within the city centre. Earlier on Tuesday, 85 people were arrested, after they refused to take down their tents as part of the nationwide movement against corporate greed.

Graphic footage released today by Al Arabiya claims to show Muammar Gaddafi, covered in blood, being shaken as a crowd surrounds him.

Reuters writes: “It appeared Gaddafi was being loaded into the back of a pick-up truck where his body was surrounded by several people. Blood had been wiped onto the trousers of some of those lifting him.”

An official said the ousted Libya dictator had been shot in the legs during his capture, but he had also been hit in the head during the firefight.

The picture of his dead body was released by agency AFP in an image credited to Philippe Desmazes.

Gaddafi is said to have died shortly after rebel fighters finally overran his loyalists defending the coastal town of Sirte - finally ending the last remnants of his 42 year hold on Libya.

Libyan National Transitional Council official Abdel Majid Mlegta said Gaddafi was captured and wounded in both legs at dawn today as he tried to flee in a convoy which NATO warplanes attacked.

“He was also hit in his head.” the official said. “There was a lot of firing against his group and he died.”

There are a lot of wrongs on both sides here. First and foremost these women should not have jumped behind the counter at all to try to attack this guy over him checking to see if their $50 dollar bill was real. This probably caused to lose control defending himself and went overboard. He could of easily subdued these women and called for police. For him to use a lead pipe for two women was a bit extreme but what if they pulled a weapon on him? The truth of the matter is these women had no right to jump over the counter no matter the circumstance and brought this horrible situation on themselves.

Mickey D’s employee Rayon McIntosh, 31, used a metal bat to beat Darbeau and pal Rachel Edwards after they jumped behind the counter during a dispute over a $50 bill.

McIntosh is on parole after serving 10 years for manslaughter for shooting and killing a 17-year-old classmate in 2000.

Darbeau’s mother said her daughter was unarmed and didn’t deserve the beating, some of which occurred while she was helpless on the floor.

Thomas is a 24-year-old Marine Veteran (2 tours in Iraq), he currently plays amateur football and is in college.

Thomas comes from a long line of people who sacrifice for their country: Mother, Army Veteran (Iraq), Step father, Army, active duty (Afghanistan), Grand father, Air Force veteran (Vietnam), Great Grand Father Navy veteran (World War II).

California Prisoners Face Retaliation From Guards as Hunger Strike Grows(BET.COM)

The hunger strike that started in July at the Secure Housing Unit at California’s Pelican Bay State Prison has spread throughout the state and even to facilities in Arizona, Mississippi and Oklahoma. The prisoners went on strike to protest inhumane prison policies, including one that allowed nearly half of Pelican Bay’s 1,111 prisoners to be held in solitary confinement for more than 10 years. Prisoners now say they face harsh retaliation from guards as the strike wages on.
