After the Wolverine debacle a couple of days ago, which I secretly think was done on purpose to stir up some controversy, lo and behold these pics leak from the set of the most anticipated sequel since The Dark Knight(Transformers aside).
With Terrance Howard out and Don Cheadle in, our collective mouths can now water a year ahead of the release date and the now customary practice of the promotion of a movie starting before it is even completed. The guys over at Latino Review scooped the scoop for your viewing pleasure:
Shooting has begun on Iron Man 2, and besides the brief updates from Jon Favreau on Twitter, it didn’t take long for pictures to pop up on the second day of shooting.
Spoiler TV has some shots of Robert Downey Jr. carrying his little box (I guess he keeps his vitamins, cigarettes and other stuff in there), along with shots of Gwyneth Paltrow sitting in a car and Don Cheadle trying to show off his Blackberry.
I like how the trailer says Tony Stark and doesn’t say Robert Downey Jr. I think Robert should just legally change his name to Tony Stark since most will now associate his career with Iron Man instead of past efforts like the fantastic Chaplin.

Samuel L. Jackson is Marvel’s man. The actor, who just weeks ago was seemingly on the outs with the studio over reprising his role as Nick Fury, agent of spy outfit S.H.I.E.L.D., has signed an unprecedented nine-picture deal to play the character in a series of Marvel movies.
The movies include “Iron Man 2,” “Thor,” “Captain America,” “The Avengers” and its sequels. Also on the table is the possibility of toplining a “S.H.I.E.L.D.” movie, which is in development. The actor, repped by ICM and Anonymous Content, made a surprise appearance as Fury at the end of the first “Iron Man,” throwing geeks into a tizzy and showing the first glimpse of Marvel’s plan to link all their slate of movies into one filmic universe.
Jackson and Fury were expected to be part of the sequel, but as Marvel negotiated with its cast, deals proved hard to come by. Terrence Howard was replaced by Don Cheadle. Mickey Rourke still doesn’t have a deal for the part of a villain despite almost two months of negotiations.
LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) – PC manufacturer Dell and Paramount Pictures are opening a new front in digital distribution with an offering allowing consumers to order “Iron Man” preloaded into newly purchased computers.
For now, Paramount is the only studio that has signed on, and “Iron Man” — which will be available accompanied by exclusive bonus footage for $20 beginning Tuesday (September 30), the same day as its DVD release — is the only film being offered.
The offering is the first step Dell is taking toward setting up a broader digital content storefront that could create significant competition for Apple’s dominant iTunes Store. Read more…
We finally get to see the much talked about scene in Iron man featuring Ghost face Killah, who was instrumental in keeping the franchise alive when it basically dead. He deserves a part in Iron Man 2 and this time make sure he does not hit the cutting room floor. The dvd is dropping soon.

I’ve been looking around and reading different things regarding Iron Man 2 and I took a moment to find some rumors that are pretty solid, but still just rumors. There’s information that we got from the Iron Man film that is pretty straight forward about various characters we might see, but it’s still not known what the overall plot will be. So sit back and read up on these possible Iron Man rumors that I read on the net, and be warned if you don’t want to know, some of the stuff might be spoilers:

With the success of Iron Man in theaters this past weekend, exoskeleton Cyborg suits are all the rage. Well, the HAL (Hybrid Assisted Limb) is a contraption coming out of Japan that steps out of science fiction into the real world. These will be available sometime later this year for the super affordable price tag of $1,000…monthly.
With the success of Iron Man cemented in stone, all eyes are on the next comic book themed blockbuster of the summer on deck. Warner Bros., hoping to capture some of the steam from Iron Man’s earth-shattering debut, released the second trailer to the highly anticipated “Dark Knight” movie. Considerably alot darker than Iron Man, lets see if the Ledger hysteria will hold up to carry this flick to the “Blockbuster” finish line. We’ll see come July 18.
Iron Man is definetly a mega huge hit for Marvel Entertainment which self financed the film and gears up to bring a sequel in two to three years. But first they are basking in the glow of having a film which grossed 100 million dollars this weekend. Read more below:
Los Angeles: AP
We could not have hoped for a better way for Marvel Studios to blast off,” said David Maisel, chairman of the unit, a division of Marvel Entertainment, which stands to pull in a greater share of box office receipts and merchandising money by financing movies itself.
The Marvel Comics adaptation, starring Robert Downey Jr. as the guy in the metal suit, hauled in $100.7 million during its opening weekend and $104.2 million since debuting Thursday night, the second-best premiere ever for a nonsequel, according to studio estimates Sunday.
The film also scored overseas with $96.7 million in 57 countries where it began opening Wednesday, putting its worldwide total at $201 million

How cool are these figures featuring Iron Man, Transformers, and Amazing Spiderman. Yeah you gonna pay a pretty price via Ebay. But if you gonna get now, might else do it they will be collectors items like now. Read below:
He started hacking action figures as a tot. Now Jin Saotome sells custom-modded superheroes for hundreds and even thousands of dollars. “I would take apart my G.I. Joes, swap arms and paint them with my mom’s nail polish,” said the 30-year-old resident of California City, California.
With the help of his dad’s metal shop, Saotome built and deconstructed popular figurines as a hobby. His first set of custom figures was purchased by a traveling jeweler, who bought an entire set of Star Wars figures for his son.

UPDATE : From Rich Johnston/ Lying In The Gutter
One thing missing from the film was the much-touted end of movie scene with Samuel Jackson as Nick Fury. I understand from British Film classification sources that the scene is in the print that they’ve approved for general release, but not in premiere or preview screenings, so as not to spoil the um.. surprise… bugger. Anyway, he’s recruiting for a group called The Avengers.
We regrettably report that Ghostface Killah and Samuel Jackson did not make the final cut and will not appear in the upcoming summer blockbuster “Iron Man” as previously reported. While details remain sketchy it was rumored that Ghost shot a piece as a sheik in Dubai while Samuel had a bit part as Nick Fury. Neither made the cut and apparently ended up on the cutting room floor. Hopefully they’ll make it to the DVD version. Oh well there goes my dreams of seeing Starks alongside Starks, swagg splashin’ in his full-length robe!
Stan Lee, the man who brought you such iconic figures as The Hulk, The Uncanny X-Men, Iron Man and Spider Man has joined forces with another eclectic mind, Richard Branson and his Virgin Comic imprint. After being unceremoniously forced out of Marvel and on the brink of ruin, Lee has been resurrected by Virgin to head their comic book division, where he’ll be in charge of developing the next era of superheroes. Rather than relying on the celebrity of a superhero character, Virgin has experimented with partnering with brand name celebrities that have introduced their own unique character twists, creating niche market “heroes” and “antiheroes.”
In addition to Lee, Virgin has already inked deals with director John Woo, Guy Richie, actor Nicolas Cage, porn star Jenna Jameson, and spiritualist Deepak Chopra as well as others. With the inclusion of Mr. Lee, the hope to attract the best writers and illustrators to their ever-expanding team in order to position themselves to compete with the powerhouse Marvel Comics and DC Comics. No word yet on what the first Lee-helmed project will be or if he will be further developing any characters he’d previously been working on. In addition to the Virgin deal, Lee has just released a political humor “photo” book called “Election Daze” that is shooting up the charts.
Grand Theft Auto IV is gearing up to smash sales of video games and to possibly make a dent in the movie box office. The game due to be released April 29 has been the buzz of blogs and websites for months and its release could possible effect movies and dvd releases the same week.
When “Grand Theft Auto IV” launches April 29, it’s expected to gross a record-breaking $400 million worldwide in its first week. That’s good news for the game biz, but daunting for execs in other sectors of the media industry.
“Videogames are a major source of competition for the disposable income of young males,” says Warner homevideo topper Ron Sanders, “and we avoid releasing big titles on (major videogame release) dates that appeal to young men unless there’s a specific demographic reason.”

Just in time for the Comic Book Convention, which is in New York this weekend, Marvel Comics and Technics turntables have collaborated on some limited edition tees featuring Marvel characters spinning wax on the wheels of steel. They are priced at $50 and available at DMC World.
As the release date (May 2) for the highly anticipated summer blockbuster Iron Man approaches, the corporate Big Dogs will start rolling out their cross promotions. This is Audi’s effort to align itself with Tony Starks and his Enterprise. Their R8 will be featured heavily throughout the flick. Their brand integration is not so much a shove it in your face approach but rather Audi as a technologically superior work of machinery is tied into the theme of Iron Man and his many technologically superior machinery (his armor). They’ve developed a very engaging website around the promo campaign as well. To check it out go HERE
There are shome great shots that have leaked out of the new Iron man movie, that showcase the film’s main villain Iron Monger aka Obadiah Stane (played by Jeff Bridges/killer effects).
This movie is definetly shaping up to be a mega hit. More pics from the movie after the jiz-ump.
Politics promise to keep things hot this summer and Hollywood doesn’t intend on letting them have all the fun. Here is their mega lineup sure to boost the Summer temp! Global Warming Beware!!

Today is the day that everything halts and everyone tunes in to the finale of America’s favorite past time, Super Bowl Sunday. Talk about cross-promotions, Kraft Foods, the other corporate entity controlled by the Krafts, owners of the Patriotsare listed as the providers of the ingredients to make the most fabulous New York Cheesecake this side of the Brooklyn Bridge. The irony…number two is the highly anticipated Summer blockbuster Iron Man which will be in theaters in May. Third was Tom Petty, the halftime show performer, fourth was Puppy Bowl, the ratings giant that airs on Animal Planet before the Big Game and rounding out fifth is Jordin Sparks, the gorgeous American Idol winner who will be singing the National Anthem to open things up.
