This is the now infamous performance where Lupe gets kicked off stage for spitting some anti-Obama lyrics during a performance of some inauguration related event. Those of us familiar with Lupe, know his diatribes against Obama so this is nothing new. A friend of mines stated that those who booked him should of known what they were getting into by having him perform. This is a fair statement, but was Lupe hired to perform under the context that he would perform material that was free of any criticism of the Obama administration? If so then Lupe is an self righteous asshole looking for attention. If not then to the promoters who booked him you get what you pay for.

Finally some words from POTUS about the assassination of Trayvon Martin.

President Obama spoke in highly personal terms on Friday about how the shooting in Florida of a 17-year-old black youth named Trayvon Martin had affected him, saying that “if I had a son, he’d look like Trayvon.”

The comments by Mr. Obama were his first on the explosive case in which George Zimmerman, a neighborhood watch captain, has claimed self defense after shooting Mr. Martin several weeks ago. The case has generated outrage about the state’s so-called Stand Your Ground law.

After much prayer and serious consideration, I have decided that I will not be seeking the 2012 GOP nomination for President of the United States. As always, my family comes first and obviously Todd and I put great consideration into family life before making this decision. When we serve, we devote ourselves to God, family and country. My decision maintains this order.
My decision is based upon a review of what common sense Conservatives and Independents have accomplished, especially over the last year. I believe that at this time I can be more effective in a decisive role to help elect other true public servants to office – from the nation’s governors to Congressional seats and the Presidency. We need to continue to actively and aggressively help those who will stop the “fundamental transformation” of our nation and instead seek the restoration of our greatness, our goodness and our constitutional republic based on the rule of law.

Shots fired! This right here is a tough one to call. On the one hand, this administration has not done nearly enough to address the poverty in this country so strong criticism there is justified.  On the other hand Cornel West and Tavis Smiley seem to have an axe against the President and are not offering any solutions to the problem outside of pointing fingers. This is gonna get nasty and probably will not bring about any solutions in the long run.

Its great to see President-elect Obama aggressively taking on the economy prior to his taking office. Unfortunately, the economic advisory team that he has put together looks more like a semester’s worth of great guest speakers for an MBA class than an economic advisory team that can truly help him.

There are a lot of great minds on the list:

Robert Rubin, Larry Summers, Laura Tyson, who served as Clinton’s top economic adviser; former Fed Vice Chairman Roger Ferguson; Time Warner Inc. Chairman Richard Parsons; former Securities and Exchange Commission chairman William Donaldson and Xerox Corp. Chief Executive Officer Anne Mulcahy.
Google Inc. CEO Eric Schmidt, Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm and Roel Campos, an ex-SEC commissioner, and Warren Buffett are also on the advisory board.

Notice anything missing?

Not a single entrepreneur. Yes Warren Buffett started a business, but he will be the first to tell you that he “doesn’t do start ups”. Which means there isn’t a single person advising PE Obama that we know of that knows what it’s like to start and run a business in this or any economic climate. That’s a huge problem.
