Fox News and Wall Street Journal parent company News Corp donated $1 million to the Republican Governors Association in June, Bloomberg BusinessWeek reported.

The media conglomerate, controlled by Chairman and CEO Rupert Murdoch, took advantage of the unlimited donations corporations can give to governors’ associations (from Bloomberg BusinessWeek):

Those guys over at FOX never cease to amaze. What is priceless is the look on the female host when he says this we “keep marrying other species”. But to be honest there are a lot of factions in this country that feel this way and it is not just neo-Nazis. NEW YORK (CNN) — The chairman of the New York Post, Rupert Murdoch, personally apologized Tuesday for an editorial cartoon published by the newspaper that drew charges of racism

“Today I want to personally apologize to any reader who felt offended, and even insulted,” said the statement from Murdoch, who is also chairman and chief executive of News Corporation, which owns the paper.

“I can assure you — without a doubt — that the only intent of that cartoon was to mock a badly written piece of legislation.

“It was not meant to be racist, but unfortunately, it was interpreted by many as such. We all hold the readers of the New York Post in high regard, and I promise you that we will seek to be more attuned to the sensitivities of our community.”

The cartoon by Sean Delonas referenced the mauling of a Connecticut woman by a chimpanzee who was later shot and killed by police. In the caption, one of the officers says, “They’ll have to find someone else to write the next stimulus bill.”

The cartoon was published on Wednesday, a day after President Obama signed the stimulus bill.

The Post issued a statement the following day, apologizing but noting that the cartoon was meant to mock what it called an “ineptly written” stimulus bill.

Fox TV Producers Asked to Trim Budgets 2 Percent

LOS ANGELES (AP) – News Corp.’s 20th Century Fox Television studio has asked producers of shows such as Fox’s “24″ and “My Name is Earl,” produced for NBC, to trim their budgets this season by 2 percent, a spokesman said Wednesday.  

The cuts will affect between 16 and 20 shows currently in production, but will probably not result in layoffs, said spokesman Chris Alexander.

“We don’t anticipate that there will be any layoffs. Where the cuts will be made will be at the discretion of every show runner,” he said. “Everyone understands that revenues are down and these steps are necessary to protect our business.”

The move is part of a wider cost-cutting initiative at News Corp.’s Fox properties, from TV stations and the film studio to MySpace, as advertising revenue has fallen across all media. The company has been cutting travel and entertainment budgets and leaving vacant jobs unfilled.

The Walt Disney Co.’s ABC Studios made a similar 2 percent budget cut across its TV shows in November.

CBS Corp. said Tuesday that it laid off a small number of executives and staff at its in-house programming arm, CBS Entertainment, and its production studio, CBS Paramount Network TV.

Earlier this month, General Electric Co.’s NBC Universal cut 500 positions, or 3 percent of its work force; and Viacom Inc., owner of the MTV and BET networks, laid off 850, a 7 percent reduction.

That’s why O’Reilly needled and interrupted Obama, trying to get him to simplify many of his answers—a far cry from the softballs O’Reilly lobbed at many prominent Republicans like Rudy Giuliani in the past. And that’s why FOX has been attacking Obama with the same relentless smear tactics that they used against John Kerry four years ago. Watch them use the exact same attacks.

Hillary’s henchman Wolfson moves over to Fox News…Anyone surprised?

Hillary clinton’s former political henchman Howard Wolfson is being reported to be going over to Fox News to serve as a political analyst. Is this really surprising after we all(well maybe not all) saw Wolfson on early morning political cable networks tearing down and discrediting the intelligence and accomplishments of Sen. Barack Obama all in the name of Hillary Clinton.

His slimy personality should fit well over there with retards the likes of Karl Rove, Bill O’ Reilly, and Ann Coulter. note:But don’t get too comfortable Wolfy, you will still have to deal with Keith Olbermann and that is something everybody at Fox dreads every night at the start of his now infamous ‘Worst Persons in the World’ segment.

“Fox has the largest audience in cable television — many of its viewers are independents who will help decide the next election,” said Wolfson of his decision. “It’s critically important for strong progressives to be talking to and offering analysis to that audience.”

Wolfson said he doesn’t have (and has never had) any plans to write a book about his experience on the Clinton campaign and, as for whether he would join Barack Obama’s general election bid, Wolfson said he was focused on his work at GPG and with Fox.

Who wants to be associated with losers? Bill O Reilly’s boss Rupert Murdoch is feeling the Obama wave and even is taking credit for his dead in the water newspaper The Post for endorsing him over Hillary(don’t worry he owns everything at is worth 8.8 Billion). Check his thoughts on the upcoming presidential campaign:

“You have got the Obama phenomenon. You have got, undoubtedly, a recession … The average American is really getting hurt financially and that all bodes well for him (Obama), Murdoch said.

“I think it (a recession) is one we will be coming out of for quite some time,” Murdoch said. “In the next 18 months, this country is going to be in for a very hard time.”

“You have probably the making of a complete phenomenon in this country,” Murdoch said in describing what he predicted will be a sweeping victory for Democrats in November.

Murdoch has yet to endorse a U.S. presidential candidate but considers Barack Obama very promising, the media magnate said in an interview by two Wall Street Journal reporters at an annual conference for high-tech industry insiders.

News Corp recently acquired ownership of the Journal and its parent company .

Rap superstar 50 Cent is on the verge of signing a new branding deal with media mogul Rupert Murdoch’s company – worth a cool $300 million.
The In Da Club hitmaker is in final negotiations with Murdoch’s News Corp firm – which owns social networking site MySpace – for a large stake in all aspects of the 50 Cent brand, including music, concerts, books and his label G-Unit Records.

If the agreement goes ahead, G-Unit Records and its roster of artists will move under News Corp’s MySpace Records umbrella.

According to reports, half of the $300 million deal will be in stock, potentially making 50 Cent – real name Curtis Jackson – one of the biggest News Corp shareholders.

Wendy Bringing Ruckus To Fox On Her Own Talk Show

Wendy Williams, under fire for allegations that her husband sexually harrassed members of her staff, has confirmed that she will be debuting a talk-show on Fox, debuting July 14. Her previous attempt at TV on VH1 didn’t do to well ratings-wise and was canceled but now she has reloaded on the network that Murdoch built. Details remain sketchy, like the show’s running time or what time slot it will occupy but they are saying that Fox has signed on for a six-week run. You can expect interviews with celebrities and low-brow antics that have made the female shock-jock a staple on New York radio. She apparently renewed her contract with WBLS so she won’t be abandoning her radio post anytime soon.
