Depending on your orientation in Hip Hop you’ll remember the name Damion “World” Hardy from one of two different places. If you hail from the “streets” of Brooklyn than you recognize World as the infamous World from LG, brother to Wise, who was alleged killed by Nut, or as he known by the government, Ivory Davis. And if people go back that far, then they’ll recall Nut is the brother in the “Get Money” video being serenaded by Lil’ Kim, with her sitting on his lap.
So as fate would have it, years later Kim’s boyfriend World is being charged with ordering the killing of Nut in a revenge slaying for Nut’s murder of World’s brother. For me, the incident strikes close to home, because I spent the last minutes with Nut on that fateful night, toasting it up at the bar inside NV nightclub, then escorting him to the parking lot where he got into Range and veered off into the deadly trap.
Upon being shot, his vehicle flipped the curb and he killed an influential European filmmaker (he had a popular Volkswagen commercial in rotation). Now, the other half of Hip Hop will remember World from his infamous appearance on Wendy Williams where he discussed some highly volatile information that would make Pimp C look like Joel Olsteen. He took the opportunity of being on air to air out all of the alleged closet homosexuals in the game, sparing none. He claimed that they were all apart of a secret society that bases initiations and rituals on sexual magic, namely of the same sex kind. He mentioned his former squeeze, Lil Kim was an Eastern Star and Hip Hop was part of a global conspiracy to discredit and destroy Hip Hop.
Even though this interview is heavily discussed on message boards and Wendy routinely reaches into the archives whenever she wants to piss the pundits off, you’ll be hard-pressed to find it online. Then the police want you to believe that World became a jihadist and went to the Middle East to forge ties with international terrorists..oh yeah, before he did all that he attempted to shot 50 Cent in a New Jersey parking lot for dissing Lil’ Kim. The same 50 Cent that was previously shot by Homicide, Nut’s right hand man who was killed weeks prior to Nut getting murdered. I can’t believe Hollywood hasn’t come calling yet. Now the State of New York wants to make an exception and line World up for the death penalty via lethal injection. In a bid to save his life, his defense is making him out to look like a nut-job, no pun intended. The NY Daily News ran an article on his impending trial and below are some quotes from that piece:
Hardy’s lawyer claims he has undergone a religious conversion since those wild times, legally changing his name to Isa Ibn Jibril. He also is mentally ill, the lawyer said.
Last week, a federal judge ordered Hardy to undergo a psychiatric exam to determine if he is competent to stand trial on federal racketeering and murder charges.
“I am the Christ. I am the Messiah,” Hardy ranted in court in 2004 after he was arrested at JFK Airport as he returned from a religious pilgrimage in the Middle East.
“Do not be the one to go against the law,” he went on. “Adhere to the law’s command before I give you warning. A day that is drawing near. A day of grief and regrets. Boiling water will be poured over your heads.”
Rest assure that this won’t be the last you hear of this story that is so intertwined with plot twists, turns and multiple layers that the rabbit hole may lead anywhere.

My heart goes out to all those who lost family, friends and loved ones. Thank God she was a fortunate black girl with a good family that surrounded her and got her away from that man. He was a pimp in the mid-70s in Brooklyn. I don’t know if he is dead or not, but I am only concerned in his family and children, and perhaps in connecting with them on some level, even though I’ve never known anyone from that side in my 37 years of life. ue to his untimely death, Judge Trager did not rule on whether Hardy could be involuntarily medicated. Instead, the case was transferred to the undersigned.
Because of the resulting delay, the Court directed the BOP to reassess Hardy’s condition. After attempts to conduct the reassessment at MDC failed, Hardy was transferred back to Springfield. The Court’s transfer order stated that Hardy was not to be involuntarily medicated without its authorization.
On November 7, 2011, Hardy attempted to assault a staff member at Springfield. Dr. Sarrazin determined that Hardy’s condition qualified as a “psychiatric emergency” for which involuntary medication is authorized by regulations. The following day, Springfield doctors, apparently unaware of the Court’s order, administered an injection of short-acting haloperidol. On November 9th, they administered an injection of long-acting haloperidol. Hardy exhibited no side effects.
After the emergency medication was brought to the Court’s attention, it directed the BOP to proceed with an administrative due-process hearing to determine whether Hardy should continue to receive haloperidol injections on the ground that he posed a danger to others. That hearing was held on November 29, 2011, before Dr. Carlos Tomelleri, a Springfield psychiatrist. John Getchell, a clinical social worker, met with Hardy prior to the hearing and advised him of his right to have witnesses. Hardy did not call any witnesses.
After interviewing Hardy and reviewing other evidence, Dr. Tomelleri determined that Hardy met the criteria for the administration of involuntary medication. He found that Hardy had “thrust his arm at staff and reached with his left hand for a toothbrush in his cell” on November 7. Am. Involuntary Medication Report, at 5. Dr. Tomelleri also credited prior incident reports that, while at MDC, Hardy had (1) attempted to stab a staff member with a sharpened object, (2) attempted to bite an officer, and (3) threatened to break an officer’s neck. Finally, Dr. Tomelleri noted that during his interview Hardy stated that “since his incarceration was invalid he could not be held responsible for any transgression or criminal act occurring during that period of time.” Id. at 6.
Dr. Tomelleri concluded that because of his mental illness, Hardy was laboring under a “grandiose delusion[] . . . that he is not responsible for any misconduct because he is invalidity incarcerated,” id., and that the delusion rendered him dangerous to others. He observed that involuntary medication was “in the patient’s best interest,” id. at 4, and that other measures, including tranquilizers and physical restraints, would not address the core cause of the danger.
Hardy instructed Getchell to file an administrative appeal on his behalf. Springfield’s Associate Warden ruled on the appeal on December 7, 2001. He found that Hardy had been given more than 24 hours’ notice of the hearing, as required by regulation, and upheld Dr. Tomelleri’s findings that Hardy posed a danger to others and that involuntary medication was in his best medical interest. Because of the Court’s order, however, Hardy has not been involuntarily medicated since November 8, 2011.

Prosecutors have been seeking since 2009 to forcibly medicate Damion (World) Hardy, who suffers from schizophrenia but has refused to take his meds.
But this month the feds – in violation of a court order – forcibly administered a long-lasting dose of the powerful anti-psychotic drug Haldol to Hardy at the federal prison in Springfield, Mo., where he is being evaluated, the Daily News has learned.
Brooklyn Federal Judge Frederic Block had signed the order this year barring Hardy from being involuntarily medicated without consulting his lawyer, prosecutors and the judge.
Assistant U.S. Attorney James Loonam confirmed at an emergency hearing in Brooklyn Federal Court that prison officials forcibly restrained Hardy and administered the injection on Nov. 8 because the defendant had a “psychotic emergency.”
Hardy flipped out in his cell after putting his hand through a food slot and demanding legal papers. Prison officials, unaware of Block’s order, deemed him a danger to himself or others and ordered the injection two days later, according to discussions in court.
But defense lawyer David Ruhnke charged that the feds were pulling an end run around the court order. “Now they have an opportunity to experiment on Mr. Hardy to see if anti-psychotic medicine works,” Ruhnke said. “He’s not supposed to be medicated. Period.”
Hardy, 37, is accused of being the leader of a violent Bed-Stuy drug gang, Cash Money Brothers, a name taken from Wesley Snipes’ crew in the film “New Jack City.”
He is charged with murdering six people, including an innocent bystander, and faces the death penalty for ordering the killing of a rival.
He now calls himself Isa Ibn Tibril and thinks he is the Messiah, according to court papers. Defense and government shrinks found him incompetent to stand trial in 2007.
The prosecutor said Hardy is due for another dose of Haldol on Nov. 29, but the judge put that on hold pending another hearing. “He’s not going to be medicated again without coming to see me first,” Block said.
The judge admitted that when he signed the do-not-medicate order, he did not consider the possibility of an emergency. “I just blindly approved it,” Block said.
Hardy and Lil’ Kim were engaged and living together in a New Jersey mansion, and he drove a Land Rover she gave him, according to press reports, but she has not come to court for any of his appearances since his indictment in 2006.

NEW YORK (The New York Daily News) — A mortally wounded would-be rap mogul, speeding away from his executioner, struck and killed an award-winning Swedish advertising executive with his car in SoHo early yesterday, police said.
Ivory (Nut) Davis — suspected in one killing and the victim of two prior shootings — was sitting behind the wheel of his $50,000 Range Rover when he was shot twice in the back in front of Club NV on Spring St. around 4 a.m., cops said.
Bloodied and near death, Davis, 27, drove to Sixth Ave., where his car slammed into 38-year-old Jhoan Camitz, who was walking past the Aqua Grill restaurant.
“He had nothing to do with the incident,” William Allee, NYPD chief of detectives, said of Camitz, known for his work on a Volkswagen ad campaign. “He was just crossing the street at the time.”
Police were searching for the gunman who targeted Davis as trendy SoHo reeled from the pre-dawn explosion of gunfire, screeching tires and death.
Revenge killing suspected
Investigators believe the shooter may have been retaliating against Davis, who had a lengthy rap sheet and was suspected in a recent Brooklyn killing, sources said. Cops said Davis — who ran a fledgling New Jersey-based rap record label called Yo Yo Records — had been shot at least twice in other club-related incidents, most recently outside The Tunnel in Chelsea in February.
The terror in one of the city’s trendiest neighborhoods began just after closing time at NV, a plush nightspot with a dance floor, elaborately draped windows and leopard-spotted sofas.
Davis apparently had just left the club and was double-parked in his Range Rover talking to friends when the gunman raced up to the window and unloaded at least four shots. Two bullets passed through the driver’s seat and hit Davis in the back, cops said.
Davis managed to screech off down Spring St., where Camitz was strolling on Sixth Ave. The Range Rover slammed into Camitz, ripping his leg off, before the vehicle jumped the curb, hit a utility pole and flipped on its side.
Davis was pronounced dead at the scene. Camitz died at St. Vincent’s Medical Center.
Davis had a record of drug, robbery and attempted murder arrests, and was awaiting sentencing after being convicted in July of slashing a Brooklyn club owner, police said. He lived in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, where he tooled around in his shiny black sport-utility vehicle — newly repaired after it was hit by bullets in a previous shooting, cops said.
Conflicting views
The brother of the victim in one recent Bed-Stuy shooting blamed Davis for the killing and had vowed to take revenge, police sources said. But the sources said others could have been looking for a piece of Davis.
“He’s a troublemaker, he’s a bully, he was a stone-cold hoodlum,” said one acquaintance. “He’s got a lot of people on the street looking for him.”
But neighbors in his Lafayette Gardens housing project called Davis a fun-loving man.
“He was a good person,” said a female relative who didn’t want her name used. “He was a sweet person, giving.”
Club NV has racked up a few complaints from neighbors about loud music and rowdy patrons since it opened five years ago, police records show. City Councilwoman Kathryn Freed yesterday said community leaders had been trying to shut Club NV, without success.
