Men are on the verge of getting an extra option when it comes to contraceptives. In addition to condoms and vasectomies scientists have said they’ve broken through and created the first male birth control pill. Yeah, you heard right, the “morning after” pill for dudes is on its way to market. “We used to talk about men ‘sharing the burden’ of contraception. But these days, many men talk about wanting ‘control.’ Men want to control their own destinies,” says Elaine Lissner, director of Male Contraception Information Project. The key ingredient is a synthetic hormone called Progestin, which ceases ovulation in women and decreases the rate of sperm production in men. Pending approval from the various medical clearinghouses this product can be seeing its way to pharmacy selves in three years. CLICK HERE for more info.
