He simply asks him if he is aware that he is an accomplice to murder and Frum angrily pushes him and refuses to answer questions so eloquently brought up by Rev. Wright in his speeches earlier this week.

School Says “No Souljah Boy Eyebrows”…

A very not so new trend of kids putting lines in their eyebrows reignited by the popularity of Souljah Boy has some school administrators thinking the style is “gang related”. They have demanded that kids remove their eyebrows or don’t show up at school at all.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) Centennial administrators are telling students with the lines that they can’t return to school until they shave their eyebrows off. Assistant Principal Mark Porterfield said the students are not suspended, but they are not allowed in school until they cooperate.

School officials say the mark looks like a gang symbol.

Four students have been sent home. One returned with a bandage covering the shaved brow.

Police say gangs have co-opted the trend for their own use, with one gang’s members marking themselves by shaving one line into an eyebrow and three lines in the other to symbolize 13.

Barack Says Adios to Rev. Wright..

We all saw this coming. Barack Obama has now distanced himself from his former Pastor Rev. Wright. After Rev. Wright gave two very controversial speeches to the NAACP on Sunday and the National Press Club on Monday, Barack Obama did what his advisers probably have wanted him to do all along to save his campaign, distance himself from the man who basically gave him street cred and his oratory swag.
I have feelings on both sides of this issue and it has left me torn in my analysis.

Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama denounced “ridiculous” statements made by the Reverend Jeremiah Wright, using his strongest language to date to distance himself from his former pastor.

Obama cited Wright’s contentions, repeated yesterday, that the government may have had a role in spreading AIDS in the black community, that U.S. actions overseas were partly to blame for the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, and about the importance of Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan.

Wright’s statements “offend me, they rightly offend all Americans and they should be denounced and that’s what I’m doing very clearly and unequivocally today,” Obama said in a news conference in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

It appears the fallout is being felt after a report was released confirming people’s worst fears, that BET is bombarding youth with explicit imagery. Now Procter & Gamble, one of the networks biggest advertisers has set up a hotline number to gauge whether customers share those sentiments. Apparently advocacy group Enough Is Enough put the press on P&G and now the “people” are expected to play “judge.”

One of the nation’s largest advertisers, Procter & Gamble, is soliciting input from consumers whether it should continue advertising on MTV and BET.

The packaged-goods company is taking calls at an 800 number. Once dialed, callers are advised they have two choice(s) regarding advertising on the two cable networks: press one if they want P&G to make changes in its advertising, or press two to indicate support for continued advertising on the networks. Input will be forwarded to the proper P&G executives, the recording indicates.

Radiohead Says No More Freebies

After shaking the rafters of the music industry Radiohead has announced that it will not be repeating its “free download” model with its next album. As you may recall its last offering, “In Rainbows” was available as a free download, with fans able to pay what they felt the album was worth. Although the band hasn’t released its figures to signal as to whether the experiment was a success or not, it still accomplished garnering Radiohead international coverage and left the record industry shaking in their boots, worried that A-List acts might follow suit.

“Yes. It was a one-off in terms of a story. It was one of those things where we were in the position of everyone asking us what we were going to do. I don’t think it would have the same significance now anyway, if we chose to give something away again. It was a moment in time,” Yorke told the Hollywood Reporter.

Details remain sketchy in regards to the next project the band will be releasing or how much it’ll be retailing for.

Although we reported last week that magazine sales were slipping, there will be two new additions on magazine stands for you to chose from. Colombian Drug Lord Killed By Police…

Okay we all know that in reality that drug lords don’t really “get chubby and move to Miami”. They usually have a very limited run, go the jail and or die very cruel deaths. This reality happened to one of Colombia’s biggest cocaine dealers who is taking a serious dirt nap by the hands of police.

Colombia’s Defence Minister, Juan Manuel Santos, said Mejia was killed during a shoot-out in the northern province of Antioquia.
“He was perhaps the most wanted of all the criminals in Colombia,” said Mr Santos.
Two bodyguards were killed with the fugitive, who was wearing a US military uniform when police raided his ranch hide-out after an informant’s tip-off, reports say.

“CSI” star Gary Dourdan (born Gary Robert Durdin) was arrested in Palm Springs, Calif. early Monday on suspicion of possessing heroin, cocaine, ecstasy and prescription drugs, according to a statement from the Palm Springs Police Department. Dourdan was sleeping in a car parked on the wrong side of the street when police found him. After booking, he was released on $5,000 bail.

Scientists Create Glow In The Dark Cats

It appears that scientists from The Ministry of Science & Technology have cloned cats that have a red flourescent protein gene in their body that glows under a red flourescent lamp, helping scientist to isolate the gene. They are pursuing efforts to duplicate the gene so that they can find disease in the body using the flourescent lamp technology.

“The ability to manipulate the flourescent protein and use this to clone cats opens new horizons for artificially creating animals with human illnesses linked to genetic causes,” the Ministry of Science and Technology said in Wednesday’s report.

As reported last week, scientists in South Korea have been quite busy advancing their cloning technology. In addition to introducing the first cloned drug-sniffing dogs they are also responsible for cloning the first dog that successfully reproduced a second-generation clone.

NYC Marijuana Arrest Capital, 52 Percent Blacks: Study

New York City has now become the marijuana arrest capital of the world. These arrests are primarily people who have very small amounts of marijuana and are targeted by the police department. The report also shows that African-Americans are overwhelmingly profiled and arrested by police who claim that they are not biased when they are conducting searches. Yeah right! The study by Queens College sociologist Harry G. Levin, titled “Marijuana Arrest Crusade,” accused police of purposely singling out minorities during the 10-year crackdown. It said that data provided by stat Division of Criminal Justice Services showed that between 1997 and 2007, 52 percent of the suspects were black, 31 percent Hispanic and only 15 percent white.

The findings are further proof that “racial profiling is a fact of life on the streets of New York,” Donna Lieberman, executive director of the New York Civil Liberties Union, told a news conference at the group’s Manhattan headquarters.

Taking a lead from its social network competitor Facebook, Myspace has added 1,000 applications to its network and established a site dedicated to application builders. The MySpace Application Gallery has now officially launched. Since the beta launch in March, MySpace has added more than 1,000 approved outside apps. The apps come in a variety of categories including music, politics and causes, quizzes and polls, and video and have been installed 2.1M times.

The labels which include Warner Music Group Corp’s Atlantic Recording Corp, Elektra Entertainment Group Inc and Warner Bros. Records Inc; EMI Group Plc’s Capitol Records LLC, Priority Records LLC and Virgin Records America Inc; and the Interscope Records, Motown Record Co LP and UMG Recordings Inc labels of Vivendi SA’s Universal Music Group are alleging that Project Playlist (www.projectplaylist.com) amounts to nothing more than a clearinghouse for music piracy. They claim the service allows users to “easily find, play and share music with others for free, according to the suit filed in U.S. District Court in Manhattan.”

The website compiles a vast index of songs on the Internet and users can “quickly and easily search the index for recordings by their favorite artists. At the click of a mouse, Project Playlist instantly streams a digital performance of the selected recording to the user, who can listen to it on his or her computer or mobile device,” the lawsuit said.

The labels are looking to shut the site down a la Napster style and seek unspecified monetary relief.
Most disturbing to the labels is that this site was on the brink of advancing its technology and getting music to listeners quicker than the labels have been able to. Spitzer Call Girl Goes After Girls Gone Wild..

In what was blistering media coverage for two weeks or so we witnessed one of the biggest political scandals in recent memory involving former NY Governor Eliot Spitzer,who was caught paying to see prosititute Ashley Dupre in various hotels around the country.

We then learned that amongst other things, that a then 17 year old Dupre was photgraphed and filmed by Joe Francis’s Girls Gone Wild company. She now is suing Francis for “exploiting her name and image for profit”.

The lawsuit seeks more than $10 million in damages. In legal documents, Dupré alleges that Girls Gone Wild representatives approached her while she was vacationing in Florida in 2003, offered her alcohol and cajoled her into exposing her breasts for their cameras when she was just 17 (and not of proper legal age to sign a release form allowing her to be filmed).

Media Conglomerate Announces New Ad Models To Corner Niche Markets

This article should be of interest to anyone on the net who is looking to drum up some advertising for their site. Media conglomerate IAC (InterActiveCorp Inc.) is restructuring all of its internet ventures (Collegehumor.com, rushmoredrive.com, Match.com, VeryShortList.com) to cater to the niche demographic that the advertisers is seeking to reach. They are saying it is no longer sufficient to just run an ad but now the new model dictates that you have to be more interactive with the consumer and engage them into the ad. Creativity has become paramount as a way to reach niche consumers. IAC is hoping to set the trend in this new advertisement model, a trend which other aspiring sites need to pay close attention to.

“Now advertisers won’t even talk to you unless you have a great topline idea, something cool,” CollegeHumor co-founder and editor-in-chief Ricky Van Veen told Reuters. “They use the banners and the rest of the stuff to support the deal.”

Now there are reports that porn company Vivid is due to release a previously unreleased tape featuring guitar god Jimi Hendrix having sex with two women. Read more below:

According to Vivid Entertainment, the film, which has no audio, allegedly shows Hendrix having sex with two women in a dimly-lit bedroom, the Times reports.

Vivid, which has also released sex tapes featuring Pamela Anderson, Tommy Lee and Kim Kardashian, among others, says that the tape is authentic, and will be offered for sale in stores and for download Online, according to the Times report.

“I believe that we did our due diligence, and as a result of that clearly believe that it’s him,” said Steven Hirsch, Vivid’s co-chairman told the Times. “If they said that it wasn’t him, I would never have put it out.”

Some who knew Hendrix, who died of a drug overdose in 1970 at the age of 27, disagree. Kathy Etchingham, one of his girlfriends from the 1960s, says the man in the film couldn’t be Hendrix.

“He would never have allowed anyone to see that,” she told the Times. “In private he was very shy and would cover up.”

Police Pulled Off BK Streets To Avoid Hit?

Dozens of cops were pulled off the streets in Brooklyn Saturday night after NYPD officials were tipped off to a plot to shoot patrolmen, police sources said.

Officers were taken off their foot patrols in East New York, and cop cars were positioned to block a route to the 75th Precinct stationhouse on Sutter Ave. for fear of a drive-by shooting.

The extraordinary measures were taken after a confidential informant – who works with the Brooklyn narcotics squad – told police around 6 p.m. there was a plan to shoot up the Brooklyn stationhouse, sources said.

The plot also called for cops to be targeted in drive-by shootings in Brownsville and Bushwick. It was unclear if the threats were connected to the verdict in the Sean Bell case.

The chambers had areas for sleeping, cooking and washing. Investigators said the basement labyrinth even contained a padded cell.

One thing missing from the film was the much-touted end of movie scene with Samuel Jackson as Nick Fury. I understand from British Film classification sources that the scene is in the print that they’ve approved for general release, but not in premiere or preview screenings, so as not to spoil the um.. surprise… bugger. Anyway, he’s recruiting for a group called The Avengers.

We regrettably report that Ghostface Killah and Samuel Jackson did not make the final cut and will not appear in the upcoming summer blockbuster “Iron Man” as previously reported. While details remain sketchy it was rumored that Ghost shot a piece as a sheik in Dubai while Samuel had a bit part as Nick Fury. Neither made the cut and apparently ended up on the cutting room floor. Hopefully they’ll make it to the DVD version. Oh well there goes my dreams of seeing Starks alongside Starks, swagg splashin’ in his full-length robe!

Flight Club/Mitchell & Ness Collabo

Flight Club New York worked on a collaboration with famous jersey manufacturer, Mitchell and Ness, to design a few jackets to commemorate Brooklyn and the Brooklyn Bridge. The collabo includes the Brooklyn Bums jacket, coming in blue and black, and the Four Five jacket coming in black. The Bums jacket has a lot of details on the front and on the sleeves with a Flight Club logos and baseball graphic. However, the coolest part of the jacket is definitely on the back where if you extend your arms, you can see the entire Brooklyn bridge, resembling flying wings. Flight Club is definitely taking off with this collaboration
