Judge Orders NYPD to Open Up Stop & Frisk Records

Even though the NYPD has argued that opening its database to Civil Rights activists puts its officers at risk, N.Y. Judge Marilyn Diamond said the department should black out the details and hand over the records to the New York Civil Liberty Union in 60 days.”The NYPD has not offered any reason why the petitioner should be denied access to the same database which it has already shared with other outside organizations,” Diamond argued. “The information could “give New Yorkers a better understanding of the extent to which the NYPD targets communities of color and particularly African-American males for aggressive stops, even though they’re doing nothing wrong,” New York Civil Liberties Union executive director Donna Lieberman added. More than 50 percent of the 500,000 New Yorkers pulled over last year were black. And only in the first quarter of this year, 145,000 drivers in New York have been stopped.

Study Group Releases New Info on Social Networking

A very interesting finding was released by a Christian based study group (Barna Group) into the effects of social networking. While the results of their study may be up for debate this will become the benchmark from which they gauge who’s who and what’s what online. They got info on just about ever facet of social networking so it is worth the read, just keep in mind who funded the research and what their hidden intentions may be:

Blogging has not reached the “tipping point” towards becoming a mainstream activity (an emerging technology is often thought to “tip” toward majority use when the penetration reaches 20% or more of the population). Still, there are an estimated 16 million American adults who use their blog as a pulpit to broadcast their voice to the world. Blogs are most common among single adults, Northeast residents, homosexuals, those not registered to vote, and atheists and agnostics.

Now, America suppose to be a shining beacon of “Separation of Church & State” but as we can see via the 2008 Presidential Nomination the Church will have just as much say and sway on their constituents than any other party of influence. Someone once told me that politicians were puppets for the reigning priesthood. I am seeing how that ideology lines up. This clip is of Catholic priest Jim Lisante going in on Sen. Obama and Rev. Wright at a GOP dinner. The priesthood has no place in politics. Just like a national conversation needs to had about race in America at some points Christians need to get all their ducks in order because obviously the different denominations believe they must be praying to different “gods.”

A Queens English teacher was arrested on charges of having sex with the 15-year-old cousin of one of her former students, authorities said.

Janmattie Singh, 22, is accused of calling a former student from Richmond Hill High School and asking to have sex with the 18-year-old, according to special schools investigator Richard Condon. The teen told Singh that he was at his Brooklyn home with two cousins, ages 15 and 18, so she agreed to sleep with both of them, too, officials said

Singh’s lawyer, Kumar Paturi, said the teacher has “severe mental issues” including bipolar disorder that the older teens exploited. She was charged Thursday with third-degree rape, sexual misconduct and endangering the welfare of a child.

Rev. Al Sharpton bikes for Sean Bell cause

I just was wondering why the Sean bell protests had slowed down amidst Rev. Al Sharpton’s decree to ‘shut the city down’ for the mis-justice served in this case. I guess I spoke too soon.

The Rev. Al Sharpton joined a Critical Mass bike ride through the city Friday night in yet another protest over the Sean Bell verdict.

“Whether you’re fat or skinny, gay or straight, we are all Sean Bell. We are all riding for justice,” he told the crowd in Union Square to enthusiastic applause.

Standing at Sharpton’s side were Bell’s fiancée, Nicole Paultre Bell, Bell’s father, William, and civil rights attorney Norman Siegel.

After his remarks, Sharpton jumped on a bike and headed west on 14th St. with other cyclists while motorcycle cops watched closely.
Bell’s father drew laughter from those around him, saying, “Justice is nice, but I just wanted to see Rev. Al ride a bike.”

Amy Winehouse showed up late for her first concert since leaving rehab, giving an underwhelming performance in front of 90,000 people Friday at a Lisbon music festival.
The Grammy-winning jazz-pop diva turned up almost an hour late for the outdoor show. She apologized for having a sore throat, and her voice cracked during the 55-minute set.

Winehouse, wearing a short dress, appeared distracted during her performance. She paused to talk to members of her band, fiddled at length with her microphone, sucked throat candy and at one point dashed offstage but quickly returned.

She had cuts on her left arm, and her right hand was bandaged.

James Carville: “Obama “will” win the General Election…”

Ardent supporter and loudmouth James Carville who has been a Clintonite for years, has finally said ‘uncle’ and admitted there is strong possibilities that Sen. Barack Obama will win the general election. This is a sharp contrast to what he has been saying for months that Obama has an ‘electability’ problem. More below:

Asked if he thought Obama would beat McCain, Carville said: “I think he will. I think Democrats will win in November…There’s a crushing desire for change in this country. No one has seen a party or brand held in such low esteem” than the Republicans.

Carville’s repeated suggestions that Obama “will” beat McCain contrast with the core Hillary message — repeated frequently by Hillary advisers — that Obama merely “can” win a general election, while Hillary “will” win it. Carville’s comments also suggest that with the fall contest looming, it’s becoming tougher for prominent Hillary backers to sustain any argument that doesn’t show full confidence in Obama’s chances against McCain.

Carville stressed that he thought Hillary was a better bet against McCain, but reiterated his confidence in Obama. “Hillary would be a stronger candidate, but I think he’ll win this thing,” Carville said.

OKYO – A homeless woman who sneaked into a man’s house and lived undetected in his closet for a year was arrested in Japan after he became suspicious when food mysteriously began disappearing.

Police found the 58-year-old woman Thursday hiding in the top compartment of the man’s closet and arrested her for trespassing, police spokesman Hiroki Itakura from southern Kasuya town said Friday.

GARDEN CITY, N.Y. (AP) – Authorities say six people are hospitalized after a “suspicious” fire burned down a multimillion-dollar Long Island home owned by Grammy- nominated rapper 50 Cent.
Arson squad investigators were on the scene of the Friday blaze.

The names of those injured have not been released. But a lawyer for the rapper’s former girlfriend, Shaniqua Tompkins, says the woman lived there with two of her children.

Dix Hills Fire Chief Larry Feld says all six people are hospitalized in stable condition after suffering smoke inhalation.

Earlier this year, Tompkins sued 50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, claiming he had promised her the $2.4 million house more than a decade ago.

MTV has a slew of projects in the works for summer and fall, including a reality competition from 50 Cent, a search for the next female singing superstar, a rock-themed “Making the Band” spinoff and, as previously reported, a reality show about rapper T.I.

The untitled 50 Cent project is an elimination reality show following 16 contestants as they compete to learn and master the skills that took 50 Cent from the streets to corporate America. The rapper will whittle down the contestants each week, with one winning a full scholarship to an undergraduate or graduate business program.

Kobe Seals Deal Leads Lakers To Finals..

The best player in the league led his team to victory and is poised to get his first championship without Shaq. And hopefully those pesky cheerleader rumors will float away if he gets his fourth ring.

Bryant scored 17 of his 39 points in the fourth quarter, and the Lakers rallied from an early 17-point deficit to beat the San Antonio Spurs 100-92 on Thursday night and win the Western Conference finals in five games.

Who wants to be associated with losers? Bill O Reilly’s boss Rupert Murdoch is feeling the Obama wave and even is taking credit for his dead in the water newspaper The Post for endorsing him over Hillary(don’t worry he owns everything at is worth 8.8 Billion). Check his thoughts on the upcoming presidential campaign:

“You have got the Obama phenomenon. You have got, undoubtedly, a recession … The average American is really getting hurt financially and that all bodes well for him (Obama), Murdoch said.

“I think it (a recession) is one we will be coming out of for quite some time,” Murdoch said. “In the next 18 months, this country is going to be in for a very hard time.”

“You have probably the making of a complete phenomenon in this country,” Murdoch said in describing what he predicted will be a sweeping victory for Democrats in November.

Murdoch has yet to endorse a U.S. presidential candidate but considers Barack Obama very promising, the media magnate said in an interview by two Wall Street Journal reporters at an annual conference for high-tech industry insiders.

News Corp recently acquired ownership of the Journal and its parent company .
