So many of these comments must have been written out the side of your assholes. This speech is ‘ghetto’, ‘immature’?.. What?? I LOVE that she wrote this – yes, it’s raw, honest, and emotional, maybe that’s because it’s STRAIGHT from the heart. I’d be disappointed too if internet cowards were trashing me while I was living my life according to my best principles. I challenge any of these moralists go to back, re-read her post and locate the part where she loves and takes care of her children.

Erykah, the reason why your fans reacted the way they did is bigger than you. We have a major problem in our community: the destruction of the nuclear family and the proliferation of the single moms. I feel Erykah Badu’s frustration against people judging her but I do think it’s a little extra to have three babydaddies (IDK, it just seems little disorganized). But at the end of the day, her life works for her and like she said, her children are taken care of and happy. As long as she and her children are fulfilled then what does it matter what she does with her life. It’s about her music and talent as an artist. She gets nuff respect for defending herself the way she did.
