SILLY THING Toys has been the talk of the industry since its establishment. Following their Bounty Hunter and The Beatles interpretations, SILLY THING Toys gets set to yet again launch a triumphant collaboration, this time with Marvel Studios and Hong Kong-based Hot Toys. Marking the very first time that they have authorized an original customized version of its characters, Marvel allows SILLY THING founder TK to work up a special colorway, utilizing the 1/6 Mark III as his base. One of the figures highlights includes the use of rare “battle-damaged” paint, which called for a figure re-creation considering the paint would not adhere to the original plastic surface of the Mark III platform. A release is scheduled for July 4th, 2009 via THINK SILLY Hong Kong.

NBA Shocker: Yao Ming foot injury maybe career ender

As the NBA draft approached, the grim truth about Yao Ming’s(notes) broken left foot hung like an anvil over the Houston Rockets. The fear isn’t that he’s just lost for next season, but longer.

The Rockets and Yao’s reps are frightened over his future, and the concern is the most base of all: Does Yao Ming ever play again?

“The realization has hit them that this is grave,” one NBA general manager said.

For now, the Rockets have privately told league peers it could be a full season before Yao might be able to return to basketball. Multiple league executives, officials close to Yao and two doctors with knowledge of the diagnoses are describing a troubling re-fracture of his navicular bone. Three pins were inserted a year ago, but the foot cracked in the playoffs and isn’t healing.

“It sounds like he’s missing most of next season, if not the entire 82 games,” one league executive who has had recent discussions with the Houston front office told Yahoo! Sports. “That’s all that [the Rockets] will concede quietly, but they know it’s probably much worse.”

After Yahoo! Sports first reported the severity of Yao’s injury, Rockets team physician Tom Clanton conceded franchise’s fears to the Houston Chronicle.

“At this point, the injury has the potential for him missing this next season and could be career threatening,” Clanton said. “One of the things we are trying to get is a consensus opinion on that, to make certain there is no option we are overlooking that would provide an earlier return or would be an option for treatment that he would prefer rather than doing additional surgery.”

Houston general manager Daryl Morey refused comment on Monday and a team spokesman said the Rockets will not have further comment until Yao undergoes additional medical tests.

There’s no reason for the Rockets to disclose the severity of the injury, nor the uncertainty over Yao’s future. Before the Rockets confirm a dire diagnosis, they plan to send him to three more specialists this week, a source said. For now, the Rockets have season tickets and sponsorships to sell.

Jackson Assets Worth $1Billion Dollars

Whoa.Reading this story is just amazing. Michael Jackson was an industry onto himself and we will never see anything like this in a hundred lifetimes. This article is about any potential will that Michael left but none have been proven legit so the legal wrangling is just beginning.

Unwinding Mr. Jackson’s estate is likely to be a thorny challenge, given the size and complexity of both the assets and the debts involved. In all, Mr. Jackson died with around $500 million debt, but the value of his assets probably outweigh that, possibly by $200 million or more, according to people familiar with the matter.

Mr. Jackson’s most valuable asset is believed to be his 50% stake in Sony/ATV Music Publishing, a joint venture with Sony Corp. That stake is collateral for a $300 million loan held by Barclays PLC. And Mr. Jackson’s level of control over the venture was reduced in a 2006 refinancing. For instance, he no longer has veto power over key executive appointments, according to people familiar with the situation. Sony also has the right to buy half of Mr. Jackson’s 50% stake when it chooses.

Mr. Jackson’s other assets include Mijac, a publishing catalog that comprises his own musical composition that is collateral for a separate $73 million loan. And control of the master recordings of his albums, currently in the hands of Sony, is set to revert to him in five years, according to people familiar with the matter.

But Mr. Jackson last year defaulted on a $24.5 million loan backed by another major component of his portfolio, Neverland Valley Ranch. He then became a partner in a venture — Sycamore Valley Ranch Co., LLC — that now owns the property. It is not clear what will become of the property once the will is executed.

More Tragedy: Chastity Turner Shot Dead While Washing Dog On Grandmother’s Porch

Two people are in custody Thursday in connection with Wednesday night’s drive-by slaying of a 9-year-old girl who was outside her grandmother’s house washing her dog when she was shot in the neck, according to a published report.

A rifle possibly linked to the crime has also been recovered, a police source said. Forensic tests are under way to see if it was the weapon used to kill Chastity Turner.

Speaking at an unrelated event late Thursday morning, police Supt. Jody Weis said as of 11 a.m., detectives were interviewing several people and had “very, very good leads.” At the time, he would not confirm that two people were in custody, or say whether a weapon had been recovered.

TMZ reports that Michael Jackson has been taken to UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles hospital by ambulance for cardiac arrest. Sources are stating that a 911 call was received from Jackson’s Holby Hills residence was placed at 12:21 PM Thursday afternoon.

Jackson’s father, Joe, told E! News that he’s aware of the emergency but didn’t have any details.

“I am in Las Vegas, but yes, people in Los Angeles called me and are with Michael and tell me he was taken to the hospital,” Jackson said. “His mother is on her way to the hospital now to check in on him.”

“I am not sure what’s wrong. I am waiting to hear back from them,” he added.

NEW YORK May 2009 data from Nielsen Online show that people continue to spend more time on social networking and blog sites than ever before. Total minutes increased 82 percent year-over-year and the average time per person increased 67 percent year-over-year in May 2009.

Twitter.com was the fastest-growing Web brand in May 2009, increasing 1,448 percent year over year, from 1.2 million unique visitors in May 2008 to 18.2 million in 2009.

Despite being the fastest-growing brand year-over-year, Twitter’s month-over-month growth has begun to slow, increasing 7 percent from April.

The average time per person on Twitter increased 175 percent year-over-year, from 6 minutes and 19 seconds in May 2008 to 17 minutes and 21 seconds in May 2009. However, month-over-month growth was flat, decreasing 1 percent from April 2009.

Facebook and Myspace Stats:
• With 144.3 million unique visitors, Facebook was the No. 1 global social networking destination in May 2009, the seventh straight month that Facebook has ranked No. 1.
• May 2009 also marked the fifth month in a row that Facebook has been the No. 1 social networking site in the U.S., garnering 75.4 million unique visitors — a 190 percent increase over May 2008.

White supremacist Hal Turner locked up for death threats against federal judges…

Hal Turner, an occasional talk show host on internet radio and blogger, was arrested today by the FBI in his New Jersey home on charges he threatened to murder three federal appeals court judges in Chicago following their recent ruling upholding handgun bans.

According to the U.S. attorney’s office, postings on Turner’s web site included photos of the judges and addresses for them, with statements such as: “Let me be the first to say this plainly; These judges deserve to be killed.”

The three judges have long served on the 7th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals: Frank Easterbrook, the current chief judge; and Richard Posner and William Bauer.

Turner, 47, was charged with threatening to assault and murder the three judges with intent to retaliate against them for performing their official duties. He is to appear in court tomorrow in U.S. District Court in Newark, N.J., but the charges were brought in Chicago, where the judges work.

Turner, known for his white supremacist views, has been on the radar of federal authorities before. In the wake of the murder of the husband and mother of U.S. District Judge Joan Lefkow in 2005, Turner’s web site carried the courthouse addresses of appeals court judges who had ruled against white supremacist Matthew Hale in a civil case.

There are a few interesting design changes on this model as well, that bring this Spiz’ike even closer to the original Jordan offerings. Breaking News: Shaq goes for ring with Lebron in Cleveland

The Cleveland Cavaliers and the Phoenix Suns have come to an agreement on a blockbuster trade that sends Shaquille O’Neal to Cleveland to team with LeBron James, according to sources.

The deal has been agreed to in principle and is expected to be finalized Thursday, according to sources.

Cleveland will send Ben Wallace and Sasha Pavlovic to Phoenix for the future Hall of Famer. Sources said the Suns will also receive the 46th pick in Thursday’s NBA draft and $500,000.

The trade gives the Cavs a player they’ve coveted since February. With center Zydrunas Ilgauskas starting to break down, adding Shaq to the roster gives them a dominant force in the middle. The Cavs were obviously unhappy with their ability to defend Dwight Howard in the playoffs and bringing Shaq into the fold should help.

The Cavaliers were also in talks with New Orleans about obtaining Tyson Chandler. If they had not made the trade for O’Neal, they would have traded for Chandler, according to a source.

The Cavs felt O’Neal was the better option because he has just one year left on his contract, and will not eat up cap space that will enable them to pursue free agents such as Chris Bosh in next summer’s star-studded free agent class. Chandler, who has had injury problems the past two postseasons, has a player option for $12.7 million in 2010-2011 that he is likely to pick up.
