Barney’s Cancels Jay Z Party Over Racial Profiling Mess?

The luxury retailer has cancelled the kickoff party that was scheduled for this Wednesday, November 20, at its Madison Avenue flagship store in New York City.
According to WWD, Barneys issued the following statement: “Due to unforeseen circumstances, the event has been cancelled.”
Although it’s unclear whether the event was cancelled due to the racial discrimination lawsuits, — a call to Barneys vice president of public relations & special events wasn’t immediately returned — we can’t say we’re surprised. Folks are still fired up about the partnership between the rapper-turned-mogul and high-end department store. And with so much negativity surrounding the venture, we think celebrating pricey clothes and accessories seems a bit silly, and we’re not the only ones who feel that way.

An off-duty NYPD sergeant was beaten within an inch of his life outside a Queens diner early Sunday by a thug who kept brutally bashing his head as he lay sprawled in the street.
A sickening cell-phone video shows Sgt. Mohammed Deen get knocked to the ground, then repeatedly kicked and punched by a hulking brute identified by cops as Hayden Holder, 29, of Jamaica.
At one point, the video shows the attacker leaving Deen crumpled on the pavement as he tries to smash in the windows of the NYPD veteran’s nearby white BMW 535i — with Deen’s horrified wife locked inside, a police source said.

When the perp can’t break the glass, the video — which was posted to Facebook — shows him returning to his motionless victim, smashing his head against the street and pummeling him some more.

Murderer George Zimmerman Arrested for Domestic Violence (Updated Mugshot)

George Zimmerman has been arrested and was en route to the Seminole County Jail, according to Sheriff Don Eslinger.
It’s not clear what happened or what crime he’s accused of committing, but just before 1:30 p.m., Eslinger confirmed that Zimmerman had been arrested today and was being driven to the county jail in Sanford.
He said more information would be available shortly.
WESH-Channel 2 reported that Zimmerman was accused of domestic violence by a girlfriend.
The Sheriff’s Office, in a short news release, reported that the agency had arrested Zimmerman after being called to a disturbance on Topfield Court in western Seminole County near Apopka.

Austin Dawkins, 37, and his wife Jessica, 30, both of Clarkesville were refueling at a local gas station when Austin began messing around with the lighter’s spark wheel, and holding it perilously close to the gas pump nozzle.
The fuel suddenly ignited, and flames quickly enveloped Jessica, who was sent running for her life.
The state’s fire safety commissioner Ralph Hudgens said Dawkins sustained second- and third-degree burns from head to toe and was flown to a burn unit in Atlanta.
She has since been released.
Austin, who suffered minor burn injuries in the October 16th incident, was charged with misdemeanor reckless conduct and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
