[video]My Biggest Insecurity: Loose Skin

Here is a real deal story on what happens after you lose a tremendous amount of weight and is left with a huge amount of loose skin. Kudos to this dude for being brave enough to talk about this subject.

“Obviously this is not ideal,” Glaude says. “What I would have wanted after losing 160 pounds … is the perfect body, right? But that’s not the case, and that’s okay. You should never let loose skin or anything else stop you from going for your dreams. My dreams are to be really happy in my skin. And I am, loose skin and all.”

This motivating story was picked up quickly by r/Fitness, where feedback was all positive for Glaude. From kudos on the weight loss, to acknowledgment of his courage, to flat-out propositioning and flirtation, yesterday was a good day for Glaude. And with the way he’s inspired us, we hope his journey is yielding constant happiness and this experience is a breakthrough for his confidence.

Between 1961 and 1964, the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC) had led a voting registration campaign in Selma, the seat of Dallas County, Alabama, a small town with a record of consistent resistance to black voting. SCLC also hoped to use the momentum of the 1964 Civil Rights Act to win federal protection for a voting rights statute.

What happens when your friend’s smartphone can tell that you’re lying?

imrs

via WashPost

In just a few weeks, the next installment of “The Hunger Games” will arrive in movie theaters. The latest in a long line of films to depict a future all-knowing or controlling government — think “1984” or “Minority Report” — the dystopian tale will likely be a runaway hit. But the power to seem all-knowing – or at least know more than do now – may soon lie in technology that’s already in the palm of your hand.

We are nearing a point where our smartphones will be able to recognize a face or voice, in real life or on-screen. And identification is only the most basic of the possibilities.
