Twitter continues it death march to irrelevancy with the layoffs of hundreds of workers and the shut down of once hot app Vine. So in a nutshell Twitter is trying to trim the fat to increase revenues as to to look attractive to potential buyers.

About 11 p.m. Saturday, Antonio F. Knox Sr., the Grand Basileus for Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., said he began receiving phone calls and text messages about a video on social media that featured members of the organization.

The less-than-two-minute video, which has received more than 6 million views on Facebook and YouTube, shows a number of members of the fraternity hopping with their pants down — low enough to expose their buttocks.

Black Panther Elaine Brown Blasts Black Lives Matter Movement

Elaine Brown has serious problems with the BLM movement, questionable ties to the Democratic Party, Hillary Clinton and has expressed so in an interview with Spiked..

I don’t know what Black Lives Matter does, so I can’t tell you how it compares to what the Black Panther Party was. I know what the BPP was. I know the lives we lost, the struggle we put into place, the efforts we made, the assaults on us by the police and government – I know all that. I don’t know what Black Lives Matter does. So if you can tell me, I’ll give you my thoughts.’

 

So says Elaine Brown, activist, singer and former chairwoman of the Black Panther Party, talking to me from her home in Oakland, California. She doesn’t like my question. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Black Panther Party, a revolutionary, socialist, black-power organisation formed in Oakland by then college students Huey Newton and Bobby Seale. And, as journalists scrabble to pen pieces about ‘what’s changed’, cack-handed comparisons abound.
I ask Brown about Black Lives Matter, the movement that erupted in the wake of the shooting of Mike Brown, an unarmed black teenager, in Ferguson, Missouri, in 2014. This nebulous hashtag-come-protest movement has been compared – both by its supporters and detractors – with the BPP; it’s either hailed as a continuation of the struggle or slammed as a resurgence in ‘divisive’, ‘militant’ black nationalism. Talking to Brown it becomes clear that both sides give BLM too much credit.

If Birth of a Nation was going to be a success, it would have been from white people going to see it. But word got out that it was a movie about a slave that went nuts and went around killing white people, without any scenes in which the black guy has magic powers or a white guy is the real hero, and they were like, “Uh, no thank you.”

Black feminists sabotaged Birth of a Nation, and now they’re upset because people are blaming them for the film’s poor performance at the box office. What sense does that make?

Inconsistency, thy name is Shaniqua.

Birth of a Nation hit theaters this past Friday, i.e. a week ago today, and apparently not very many people went to see it. It grossed $7.1 million at the box office. Because it costs literally an arm and a leg to see a movie in the theater these days, that means only a small handful of people went to see it.

It’s Sunday, October 9th, 2016 7:02 pm and I just want to start this by saying that at this point, I’m over social media, and I’m over the cyber mafia known as “Black Feminism”.

I‘m to the point where if I even see another black woman with “feminist” in her bio, I assume that she’s petty and that I should not associate with her publicly or privately.

If you haven’t seen/read the news already, Birth of A Nation has flopped in the box office and we have black feminism, which is just fancy cyber vernacular for “I hate black men because I always choose the wrong types of black men to entertain” and their male minions to thank.

This is pretty unfortunate to say, as a woman, especially in the world we live in where there is much negative stigma attached to being a black woman and being a black woman myself.

When I first was introduced to black feminism as teenager….

Since the recording of these interviews Dr. Umar has taken issue with the titling of Vlad’s previous parts of this interview even going so far as to calling him a ‘fuckboy’. Now Dr. Umar may have a point but taking the most salacious part of an interview no matter how minuscule is part of click bait marketing in order to gain as many views as possible. It probably lines Vlad’s youtube ad revenue bottomline but it also gives Dr. Umar more people watching his interviews.

Dr. Umar Johnson stopped by VladTV to talk about his thoughts regarding the murders of Prince, Michael Jackson and Tupac. Dr. Umar began by providing background on the deaths of the late celebrities. “Michael Jackson owned the rights to the Beetles; he owned a significant portion of Elvis’s catalog, who’s more popular than them, two guys? In the world of white music, and a black man owns the rights, Sony Records deliberately sabotaged Michael Jacksons last album…” Umar explained that if Michael had gone on tour, he would have had the liquid cash to pay off a debt he owed to Sony Records and he would have been able to keep his catalog. Umar went on to go into depth about how he feels the music industry works. “You know the music industry functions like any other white racist society; it gets down to lay down, so Michael was murdered.”
