[video] Richest 1% Will Dominate Wealth Next Year: Oxfam

Eat the rich. Occupy Wall Street tried to tell us but we didn’t listen.

The richest 1 percent are about to control a majority of the world’s wealth. That’s according to anti-poverty charity Oxfam, which said the slice of global wealth held by the world’s most affluent reached 48 percent last year, up from 44 percent in 2009. Bloomberg’s Yvonne Man has more on “First Up.”

A protester was arrested in Zuccotti Park Wednesday after he threatened to bomb New York City with Mokolov cocktails.

 

Nkrumah Tinsley, 29, was arrested after police saw his rant on YouTube. Tinsley’s parents described their son as mentally ill.SOURCE:

Things seem to be escalating at the Occupy protests which are spreading around the country. Here is the latest footage of protesters against riot police in Occupy Oakland.

Police have clashed with hundreds of demonstrators in the U.S. city of Oakland. It happened when hundreds marched to show their anger at police clearing an “Occupy Wall Street” camp. Officers shot several rounds of tear gas into the crowd, who were trying to reclaim their position within the city centre. Earlier on Tuesday, 85 people were arrested, after they refused to take down their tents as part of the nationwide movement against corporate greed.

No surprises here!  A recent poll has shown that 70% of Americans no longer look on traditional media as their main source of new.  They are now relying on the internet and trailblazing blogs like this (Street Knowledge Media) for info.  The research done by We Media/Zogby Interactive poll has unearthed these statistics:

 Nearly half of the 1,979 people who responded to the survey said their primary source of news and information is the Internet, up from 40 percent just a year ago. Less than one third use television to get their news, while 11 percent turn to radio and 10 percent to newspapers.

More than half of those who grew up with the Internet, those 18 to 29, get most of their news and information online, compared to 35 percent of people 65 and older. Older adults are the only group that favors a primary news source other than the Internet, with 38 percent selecting television.
