Critics saying ‘2012’ movie is a big,CGI, fantastic flop (Extended trailer included)

I also thought after seeing this trailer [during some award show] that all the hype for a year or two was ‘all about nothing’. Conspiracy buffs were salivating over this flick as it was supposed to confirm there theories twenty times over.

After checking out this CGI mess and you guys will have to go back to drawing board if you think this movie will further your cause. This movie drops/flops in the ether.

In a new two-minute trailer of 2012, directed by Roland Emmerich – the man behind Independence Day and The Day After Tomorrow, mankind is seen to fight for survival after a prophecy about about an apocalypse.

But as with all apocalyptic movies, there are a lucky few who survive the terror… after Americans appear to be save the day (yet again).

It looks, however, as if the CGI experts have been given a completely free hand designing this apocalypse – with the net result that the trailer borders on laughable.

Critics in the U.S. are already beginning to describe the movie as a disaster in itself.

The OTT effects and over-dramatic story has come in for some criticism even before the film hits the big screen.

If the trailer is anything to go by, we’re likely to see every kind of disaster imaginable, all crammed into one big turkey of a film created by a director reknowned for his overboard use of effects.

One critic says of the trailer: ‘The 2012 The Worst is Over Movie Clip that recently found its way online is full of the absurd action and grand special effects audiences have come to expect from a Roland Emmerich film.

”At the beginning of the clip we are given a glimpse of the Curtis’ family dynamic present in 2012. As the clip continues, the delivered action is so over-the-top it is almost looks like an cartoon.’

Lil Wayne Makes More Spaced Out Comments, This Time Claims He ‘Don’t Read No Books’

Alright, I am thoroughly confused. One thing for sure and two things for certain, just give a rapper enough time and more than two interview and the contradictions will start rolling in. In this case it is that pesky martian Lil Wayne who has made some controversial statements that have canceled out other statements made to other publications. One of our most heavily searched posts is a story about Wayne saying he believes the world will end in 2012 based on the Mayan prophecies, a “theory” which he became hip to by reading a book on the matter on his tour bus. Then he gets conducts an interview with Datwon Thomas from XXL, and says the complete opposite, in terms of him not reading books. So, the fact is he was lying to some on at some point. I’m sure this comes as no surprise but people should expect more from their “icons” especially if these kids are hanging on every word they say. To read Weezy’s spaced out comments check excerpts from this interview out:

What are you reading right now to help you…

I don’t read a damn thing. That’s why I don’t write music. I’m too cool to be reading and writing…I’m a very intelligent nigga. I can read like a motherfucka. I don’t want motherfuckas to think I’m illiterate.

You’re in college so…

I don’t read, other than that shit.

But we talking about books for leisure.

Nah, I’ve done that like once or twice. It’s just not my thing. I’m not into made-up stories. Continue reading

Dutch Prepare for 2012 Apocalypse…Fear the End Is Near

2012 Doomsday?

AMSTERDAM, Netherlands, June 23 (UPI) — Thousands of people in the Netherlands say they expect the world to end in 2012, and many say they are taking precautions to prepare for the apocalypse.

The Dutch-language de Volkskrant newspaper said it spoke to thousands of believers in the impending end of civilization, and while theories on the supposed catastrophe varied, most tied the 2012 date to the end of the Mayan calendar, Radio Netherlands reported Monday.

De Volkskrant said many of those interviewed are stocking up on emergency supplies, including life rafts and other equipment.

Some who spoke to the newspaper were optimistic about the end of civilization.

“You know, maybe it’s really not that bad that the Netherlands will be destroyed,” Petra Faile said. “I don’t like it here anymore. Take immigration, for example. They keep letting people in. And then we have to build more houses, which makes the Netherlands even heavier. The country will sink even lower, which will make the flooding worse.”

WASHINGTON – The world’s population will reach 7 billion in 2012, even as the global community struggles to satisfy its appetite for natural resources, a new U.S. government projection says.

There are 6.7 billion people in the world today. The United States ranks third, with 304 million, behind China and India, according to projections released Thursday by the Census Bureau.

The world’s population surpassed 6 billion in 1999, meaning it will take only 13 years to add a billion people.

By comparison, the number of people didn’t reach 1 billion until 1800, said Carl Haub, a demographer at the Population Reference Bureau. It didn’t reach 2 billion until 130 years later.

via The Rap Up

Lil Wayne is convinced the world will end in just four years time – after reading about Mayan prophecies on his tour bus.

The star has made the most of hours spent on the road, by learning about the ancient civilization.

And he is sure recent events in world history prove the Mayans were right – and Armageddon will happen in 2012.

He tells Blender magazine, “The world is about to end in 2012… ’cause the Mayans made calendars, and they stop at 2012. I got encyclopedias on the bus.

“The world is about to end as we know it. You can see it already. A planet doesn’t exist – there’s no more Pluto. Planes are flying into buildings – and not just the Twin Towers. Mosquitos bite you and you die. And a black man and a woman are running for president.”
