Dr. Dre’s burgeoning relationship with Apple has been in the making for sometime, so all the stiff suit analysts can’t stop with the shock and awe that this deal is going down. Dre and Jimmy Iovine from the start said that they wanted to build the new Apple with Beats Electronics.

Alright, I will say it since no one else seems to have the balls…this dude done fell off! It’s not so much the lackluster lyrics as much as it is the same tired ass formula. The first song is normally a Slim Shady joint and the follow up is a Marshall Mathers joint, exactly what we got this time around. The predictability is disappointing, plus this guy is no longer teenage trailer park trash, his songs should reflect his age and experience. This is totally lame and exactly why the music genre is stuck in a rut, tired ass formulas that suppose to change with time have become the blueprint to mediocrity. Em needs to relapse his ass back in the studio and stop taking advantage of an eager consumer base.
Eminem Talks Relapse, Return To The Big Screen On Shade 45
via XXL
Eminem is in full promotional mode. Earlier this morning (April 23) the Detroit superstar appeared on Angela Yee’s Lip Service show on his own Shade 45 Sirius Satellite Radio channel. During the interview Em hinted at his return to the silver screen, revealed more details on his upcoming comeback album and talked about his new single.
With Relapse, his first solo album in close to five years, hitting stores in the coming weeks, Shady told Yee that he is already preparing to drop another song from the project. Two weeks ago, MTV premiered the comical “We Made You” clip, which found Em following his familiar tactics, playing dress up and making fun of several pop culture mainstays like Lindsay Lohan, Amy Winehouse, Jessica Simpson and Kim Kardashian, but for his new single Em plans on going in a different direction.
The song, titled 3 A.M. “ is a lot darker than ‘We Made You,’” Em said. Adding, “ the whole album is different from the single.” The rapper said the video, which was shot in his hometown of Detroit, MI, is already done and will be dropping soon. Continue reading
Coroner: Dr. Dre’s Son Died From Overdose of Heroin and Morphine
With all this talk of The Detox album people have forgotten that Dre just lost his son and is probably still grieving. How selfish of we, to not remember this tragedy.
via People
Dr. Dre’s son, Andre Young Jr., died from an overdose of heroin and morphine, the Los Angeles County Department of Coroner confirmed to PEOPLE on Friday.
“This case has been closed, it’s been ruled an accident due to morphine and heroin intoxication,” coroner spokesman Larry Dietz told PEOPLE. The drug test results had been pending for four months.
Young, 20, was found unresponsive by his mother, Jenita Porter, 40, in their Woodland Hills, Calif., home on the morning of Aug. 23.
Paramedics pronounced Young – who was remembered by friends as an optimistic young man – dead at the scene.
Porter told investigators that her son had been out with friends that night, and she recalled hearing him snoring around 5:30 a.m.
“Dr. Dre is mourning the loss of his son,” the rapper’s publicist Lori Earl previously said in a statement. “Please respect his family’s grief and privacy at this time.”
Dr. Dre Sues Friend For $100,000
via HipHopDX
Dr. Dre has filed a lawsuit against Bruce Williams [click to read], author of Rollin’ With Dre: The Unauthorized Account: An Insider’s Tale of the Rise, Fall, and Rebirth of West Coast Hip Hop for a sum of $101,377.85.
According to TMZ.com, Dre alleges that he loaned Williams the money, which was never returned.
Williams released the book last march, which detailed his life working alongside the Hip Hop producer. He was described as Dr. Dre’s go-to guy for over 16 years. The book touches on Dre’s personal and professional life, as well as describing some of the more mysterious events in Hip Hop, such as Death Row’s internal operations.
It is, at this point, unclear what Dre’s alleged loan was for ; in Williams’ book, he details a falling out with the

Classic Eminem. Sounds like he still may have it. More music will probably be flooding the net in the matter of days.
The “Legend” Rakim Preps Fall Release
via HipHopDX
After a brief stint on Aftermath Records that saw his highly anticipated collaborative album with Dr. Dre permanently shelved, it would be easy to assume Rakim picked up that nasty habit of only releasing a new album every six years. While most us of were scrambling to hear the limited amount of leaked material from Oh My God via the Internet, Ra promised what he felt was a less compromised sound via his own label.
With Hip Hop’s Digital Age in full effect, Rakim Allah has the arduous task of proving he can continue to evolve and adapt. During a brief encounter backstage at Rock The Bells, Ra explained the delay with The Seventh Seal and the process of seeing sounds. Continue reading
Busta Rhymes Warns “Don’t Touch Me”
Now that Bussa Bus dodged that bullet that the State of New York was trying to hammer him with he is back to doing what he does best, making those obnoxious club bangers! And rightfully so the Dungeon Dragon has another flamer on his hand with “Don’t Touch Me” I don’t know about y’all but I can’t wait to see the DJ throw this on in the spot. The Game Surrenders to Authorities
The Game has finally turned his self in to do 60 days, for alledgely having a gun and making terroristic threats. Claiming that he was innocent and did not want an expensive trial he opted to plead guilty. With no single or release date for LAX in sight, maybe this short time away will spark some fire back into The Game.
Joell Ortiz-Ups and Downs-Official Vid
We at Street Knowledge, totally support this cat Joell Ortiz. Besides being one hell of an MC, he is a down to earth cat who deserves all the success in the world. We’ve known Joell four about four years, when he was just putting out his first mixtape. I was initially introduced to his music by my dude 2 Tone(East New York what up!) who brought his cd into my homies (Cas) barbershop with a song called “Fuego”. I didn’t really like it that much, but I started to see some of his music on the web and immediately knew my first impression was wrong. Whatever he does we support over here and somebody tell them cats over at Aftermath, to give this kid some light!!!

Eminem’s mother calls his bluff
Update :

Here is the cover of the book due to drop next week.
According to Debbie Nelson, the exiled mother of Marshall Mathers aka Eminem, the majority of the story that Eminem based his career on was fradulent. She writes in her latest book, ‘My Son Marshall, My Son Eminem’ that his claims to being white trailer trash was all a lie and initially she played along with the marketing scheme once his first album, Infinite bombed and he had to adopt the new identity. She says she doesn’t hold any personal feelings against Marshall for lambasting her even though she has become the object of contempt by his legion of fans. To see what else she had to say about Slim Shady, click HERE.
