Damion 'World' Hardy

The original post was done on my blog a few years ago by my former business partner and continues to garner a ton of comments. With the Mr. Cee tranny controversy in full swing, it is a fitting interview to re-post. This is the pre-DWTS Wendy Williams of NYC radio frame and her interviews were probably the most controversial stuff ever to hot the airwaves.

[video] New evidence heats up the investigation into Biggie Smalls murder

Last week twitter was all abuzz about Suge Knight being arrested for the death of Biggie Smalls aka Notorious B.I.G. Well it seems that it was not some unfounded hoax, and that new evidence concerning the case has arisen.

A task force made up of local and federal law enforcement agencies is actively pursuing leads into the 1997 slaying of hip hop artist Christopher Wallace, better known as Biggie Smalls or Notorious B.I.G., according to two sources familiar with the investigation. According to one law enforcement source, the investigation into the 13-year-old unsolved case was “reinvigorated” months ago as a result of new information, but the source would not elaborate further because of the ongoing investigation that includes the Los Angeles Police Department, L.A. County District Attorney’s Office and the FBI.

Bombshell: Mark Curry Exposes Sean Combs (aka Diddy) in Interview?

Former Bad Boy artist Mark Curry decided to let it all loose against his former Boss Sean Combs aka Diddy on the new web show

Gyant Unplugged TV (from notorious blogger Gyant).

This is definitely a must watch because I don’t think that this type of information about the Bad Boy front man has been spoken on the airwaves.

Diddy made a indirect response about problems with former artists on the Angela Yee’s show show last week but I think he will have to revisit this again after this bombshell interview and book.

Later this month, “The Simpsons” will jump into its 21st season with yet another entry in the fantastic “Treehouse of Horror” franchise. To celebrate the upcoming milestone and to pay respects to some great hip-hop icons, Format and Moxy Creative have teamed up to produce a series of limited-edition posters that depict 10 famous rappers “Simpsonized.” The results are pretty great. As you can see in the posse shot below, some real heavy hitters are represented: Biggie Smalls, Tupac, Lil Wayne, Snoop Dogg, Kanye West, Flavor Flav, Andre 3000, Eminem, Eazy-E and Fat Joe have all been converted into cartoon versions of their former selves.

Notorious B.I.G. Inspired Rick Ross’ Sound, Producers Come Clean

MUSIC RICK ROSS

People diggin’ up tons of dirt on this dude’s past but nobody mentions the fact that he was morphing B.I.G. in his early career, so what do you expect.

via SOHH

J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League producer Colione recently discussed the motivation behind Rick RossDeeper Than Rap album revealing inspiration from the late Biggie Smalls.

Speaking on the project’s hit single “Magnificent,” Colione explained how his crew created the track and their relationship with Ross.

“We actually went to the theaters and saw the Notorious,” he explained. “When we got home, we were inspired to work with B.I.G. So we started making tracks for him and ‘Magnificent’ was one of the beats that came out. We were like, ‘Yo, if Biggie was alive today what would he rap to?’ We were actually doing it for ourselves. Actually, our management sent that to Ross…We came up with the first ‘Maybach Music.’ He heard the actual track at the crib and he had a whole idea in his head like, ‘Yo, I’m going to name this ‘Maybach Music’ and I’m going get Jay-Z on this. This going to be big!’ So after that, you know, we just been working with him and supplying him some beats and he’s really been studying music and his lyrics are getting better. His whole aura, I mean, he’s going to be like unstoppable.” (Vibe)

Ross is known for working with the Grammy-winning producers and shouting them out in interviews.

“They just started playing beats and I ain’t know who these n*ggas were,” Ross said in an interview about teaming with J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League. “I just sat there, smoked a little weed track after track. I started to think, is the weed that good or was these the best f*cking beats I heard in the last year?” (Smallz Space) Continue reading

Chuck Philips Leaves LA Times…Good Riddance!!

via Nah Right/HipHopDX

Chuck Philips [click to read], the Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative reporter whose story in the Los Angeles Times connecting Jimmy “Henchmen” Rosemond and Puff Daddy to Tupac‘s shooting at New York’s Quad Studios was retracted earlier this year, is leaving the paper.

Philips is among the 150 editorial staff who are departing either through buyout or lay off, Kevin Roderick wrote on his LAObserved.com blog on Tuesday, adding that Philips requested and was given a buyout. An e-mail to Philips seeking comment wasn’t immediately returned.

Philips was the author of a controversial, two-part article published in September 2002 that concluded Tupac was murdered by a member of Compton-based Southside Crips in retaliation for his stomping out of Crip Orlando Anderson in the lobby of MGM Grand in Las Vegas. The article quoted anonymous sources that claimed Notorious B.I.G. was in Vegas and colluded with the Crips to murder ‘Pac. Continue reading

[video] NOTORIOUS Video Diary #3: Production Design

Source: Notorious Blog

As I see more and more of the behind the scenes, I am starting to warm up to the debut of this movie. A lot of the flack hurled at this movie may be unfounded but is generally because the massive love and respect people have for Biggie aka Notorious B.I.G.

But it still all hinges on how realistic is Gravy’s performance, so I hope the big homie does’nt mess this up.

note: I am truly surprised at how all the websites and blogs have virtually ignored these insightful vids.

Ohh how sweet it is to find out that some of your most sanitized commercial artists are really not as squeaky clean and dumb as you would like them to be. With political season in high gear, it is only right that a R&B mega-star would add some of her most controversial theories to an image that has always been just shut up and sing.

There’s another side to Alicia Keys: conspiracy theorist. The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter tells Blender magazine:

“‘Gangsta rap’ was a ploy to convince black people to kill each other. ‘Gangsta rap’ didn’t exist.”

Keys, 27, said she’s read several Black Panther autobiographies and wears a gold AK-47 pendant around her neck “to symbolize strength, power and killing ’em dead,” according to an interview in the magazine’s May issue, on newsstands Tuesday.

Another of her theories: That the bicoastal feud between slain rappers Tupac Shakur and Notorious B.I.G. was fueled “by the government and the media, to stop another great black leader from existing.”
