Terrible news just struck the Duck Down Family and rap world in general.
According to reports from family and friends, rapper Sean Price died suddenly this morning in his sleep at his home in Brooklyn. Price was 43 years old.
The cause of death is not known at this time, however an update will be made following the release of an autopsy report.
Price entered the rap game under the moniker “Ruck” along with his partner Rock as the group Heltah Skeltah, the famed duo from the Brooklyn Hip Hop collective Boot Camp Clik. In the past decade, Price revamped his career as a solo artist using his given name of Sean Price, releasing several projects including his latest, Mic Tyson, which arguably one of the best albums of 2013. via THE SOURCE

The Blastmaster KRS-One has been educating Hip-Hop and the masses for over 20 years. As he gears to release his latest project Survival Skills on September 15 with Duck Down front-man Buckshot, KRS spoke to Hip-Hop Wired exclusively about the controversial documentary The Obama Deception. In the film, KRS speaks on secret societies running the United States and the world as well as his views on the nation’s first African-American President. Receiving some flack for his outspoken views, KRS-One addresses the film and his real feelings about President Obama and it’s not exactly what you think. His philosophy never is but edutaining nonetheless.

The headliners of the Main Performance Day of the 2008 Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival have finally been announced. Legendary MC KRS ONE and DJ Premier will be leading the charge this year on July 12th along with Brooklyn’s own Buckshot.
KRS ONE is widely recognized as one of the greatest MC’s of all time with a career spanning over two decades. From ‘Criminal Minded’ to ‘Edutainment’ to ‘Return Of The Boom Bap’ KRS has delivered hit after genre defining hit. Also known as ‘The Teacha’ KRS has served as Hip-Hop’s conscious and intellectual barometer while earning respect from every corner of the Hip-Hop Nation. This summer KRS will be re-launching the Stop The Violence Movement, his initiative to combat inner city violence. Brooklyn Bodega and The Brooklyn Hip- Hop Festival will also be working with the Stop The Violence Movement on their Summer calendar.
Legendary emcee KRS-One and iconic producer DJ Premier will take the stage at the 2008 Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival this July.
KRS and Premo aren’t the only notables who will be performing. BK’s own Buckshot will join the two headliners on stage at the annual three-day event.
“I have always maintained that KRS-One is the greatest MC of all time,” said the Fetival’s executive director Wes Jackson, in a statement. “Content, lyricism, cultural impact, longevity. There is no one better.”
