Pastor Hagee Issues Apologies to Catholics, Avoids Rev Wright-Like Backlash

Even though this should be dubbed “Reverend Wright part duex” it never caught on for obvious reasons

WASHINGTON (AP) – John Hagee, an influential Texas televangelist who endorsed John McCain, apologized to Catholics Tuesday for his stinging criticism of the Roman Catholic Church and for having “emphasized the darkest chapters in the history of Catholic and Protestant relations with the Jews.”

Hagee’s support for McCain has drawn cries of outrage from some Catholic leaders who have called on McCain to reject Hagee’s endorsement. The likely Republican nominee has said he does not agree with some of Hagee’s past comments, but did not reject his support.

In a letter to William Donohue, president of the Catholic League for Civil and Religious Rights, Hagee wrote: “Out of a desire to advance a greater unity among Catholics and evangelicals in promoting the common good, I want to express my deep regret for any comments that Catholics have found hurtful.”

By the look of the media spectacle that took place last month covering Pope Benedict, this is surprising considering the overwhelming positive coverage he received from across the board, complete with people kissing his ring.(note: author is non-catholic)

Since the unrelenting hack job on Reverend Wright and his stance that there are two radically different America’s we live in, we have yet to see equal coverage given to Pastor Hagee.

Will an equally controversial “white” pastor will be held to the same standards and villified in the media for controversial remarks they way Rev. Jeremiah Wright is everyday on cable news ?

Will Sen. McCain denounce and reject his pastor for his hate-filled sermons aimed at Jews & Catholics, two of the most influential voting blocks in this country? I sincerely doubt it.

Scientist Clone Second-Generation Horse, More On The Way

In our never ending quest to bring you the developing news on cloning technology scientists in Italy claimed to have successfully created a second generation cloned horse. The parent horse, Prometea named after the Greek god Prometheus was originally conceived through artificial insemination. Its offspring is named Pegasus after the mythical flying horse is reportedly a healthy foal.

Speaking from his research institute at Cremona he said: “The foal is called Pegasus. He was born over a month ago and is growing well. “Prometea is also healthy and is showing no difficulties.” Pegasus was born on March 17 naturally and with no problems after being conceived by artificial insemination, a common practice among horsebreeders…Pegasus shows that cloned animals can grow normally and reproduce in a natural fashion”. Prometea’s own birth was extraordinary not only because it was the first time a horse had been cloned but also because it was the first time a mammal had given birth to its own clone and exact DNA copy.”

They are expecting a second birth to a cloned stallion name Pieraz. The scientists who have also successfully created cloned pigs and cattles have been excommunicated by the Catholic Church for tinkling with “God’s design.”
