[video] SHOCKING: Chicago “Millionaire” Gang Member Shoots Man In Legs – Caught On Video

When keeping it real goes horribly wrong. This dude got $25 mill and thought it was smart to still be a gang member?

CHICAGO (CBS) –Cell phone video of an August 2015 shooting has landed a Chicago man who was previously acquitted of a 1993 murder back behind bars for nine years.

WBBM’s Andy Dahn reports.

Thaddeus Jimenez, 37, was in prison for 16 years after getting convicted for the fatal shooting of a 19-year-old man. He was freed in 2009 after his conviction was overturned.

Jimenez would later win a $25 million verdict for the wrongful conviction in 2012. Prosecutors said some of that settlement was used to buy luxury cars and recruit members for his gang, the Simon City Royals.

Jose Roman later used a cell phone to record the multimillionaire-turned-gang leader shooting another gang member in both legs while driving through the Irving Park neighborhood.

Chicago now has more MURDERS than NYC and LA combined in 2016

“Black slaughtering blacks is an old past time that needs to stop” -Neely Fuller jr

Over the Labor Day weekend, Chicago hit a deadly milestone with its 500th recorded homicide of the year. According to The Chicago Tribune, the Windy City has now logged more homicides than New York City and Los Angeles combined in 2016 and is on pace to reach a homicide level that has not been seen for over 20 years. According to a police spokesman, of the 512 homicides in 2016 tallied by the Tribune, 488 fell under the jurisdiction of the Chicago Police Department. The last time Chicago exceeded 480 murders in a year was in 2003, when there were 601.

Remember when Rick Ross (who is under indictment for assault and kidnapping) had those problems a few years back with the Gangsta Disciples aka the Gd’s?

Screen Shot 2016-05-05 at 11.22.30 AMIn a nutshell the start probably occurred when Ross famously penned the lines “I think I’m a Big Meech, Larry Hoover..” and using the Gangster Disciples gang symbol for one of his mixtapes. They were not enthused.

The indictment also says that in November 2012 the gang threatened a rapper, identified only by the initials “R.R.,” with violence unless he paid them for using the gang’s name and symbols.

Prosecutors declined to identify the artist, but rapper Rick Ross has mentioned the gang in lyrics. Ross canceled shows around the time the threats were made, but he told WEDR radio in Miami in December 2012: “I canceled the rest of the tour due to a promoter, because he wasn’t really handling his business. … Never was it due to any threats.”

Ross’ publicist didn’t immediately respond to an email Wednesday.

ATLANTA — Among the four dozen alleged Gangster Disciples members charged in indictments unsealed Wednesday, one sticks out: An Atlanta-area police officer who prosecutors say claimed to be a hit man for the violent gang and tipped off other members about police activity.

[video] Chicago has deadliest start to a year in nearly 2 decades

Mayor Rahm Emauel (aka Obama’s BFF) has done an awful job and has blood on his hands.

More than 100 people died violently in Chicago at the beginning of 2016, making it the deadliest kick off to a year since the late 1990s. Gang violence fueled by social media and lax sentencing guidelines for gun arrests are being blamed by officials for the uptick, however the shutting down of schools and high unemployment rates are being pointed to by scholars as the cause, as RT America’s Ashlee Banks reports.

[video] ‘CHI-RAQ’ A Spike Lee Joint [ Official Trailer ]

Straight up I would have preferred Michael B. Jordan in this role instead of Nick Cannon but I will check it out and see if he can pull it off.

A modern day adaptation of the ancient Greek play Lysistrata by Aristophanes, set against the backdrop of gang violence in Chicago. After the murder of a child by a stray bullet, a group of women led by Lysistrata organize against the on-going violence in Chicago’s Southside creating a movement that challenges the nature of race, sex and violence in America and around the world.

Director: Spike Lee

Stars: Nick Cannon, Teyonah Parris, Anya Engel-Adams, Samuel L. Jackson, Wesley Snipes, Angela Bassett, Jennifer Hudson, Dave Chappelle

Screen Shot 2014-04-25 at 7.45.55 AM Kudos to the owner of the restaurant who took the steps to protect his workers, because we all know the bullets are flying daily in Chicago.

via CHICAGO (CBS) — While out on an unrelated assignment, CBS 2 investigative reporter Dave Savini decided to stop by a South Side Subway sandwich shop for a meal. Savini was struck by the fact that the counter of the store at 116th Street and South Halsted was encased in bullet-proof glass. Such a sight would be common at crime magnets like gas stations or currency exchanges, but a Subway? Continue reading

[video] 9-Year Old Asean Johnson delivers Powerful Message to Mayor Rahm Emanuel about SChool Closings

This kid deserves props, his message was clear and straight to the point. The story of the school closings in Chicago has been washed over by the mainstreet media with virtually no coverage and it took a 9 year old among a bunch of others kids and teens to speak to the so called Godfather, Mayor Rahm Emanuel.

Earlier this week, thousands of students and parents and supporters rallied in Chicago to protest plans to shutter 53 public schools, disproportionately affecting black, low-income families . Nine-year-old Asean Johnson, his school facing closure, had a few fierce words for Mayor Rahm Emanuel.

15 YEAR OLD GIRL ‘HADIYA PENDELTON’ WHO PLAYED at OBAMA INAUGURATION SHOT DEAD in CHICAGO

This stuff in Chicago and across the nation is out of control. The youth are solving their problems by killing each other. I am lost as to how to stop this. While we sit around and worry about Rihanna and Chris Brown and the cast of clowns on Love and Hip Hop our children are committing the most heinous acts against each other. Another life snuffed out. I cannot imagine how her parents are going to cope with this tragedy.

[video] News Anchor Robin Robinson Apologizes for saying “There Is No Santa”

First off what kids are up watching the evening news? I totally agree with her. Telling kids that there is a real Santa Claus is just absurd at this point. If you wanna celebrate Christmas go ahead but give kids the truth and let them know that their parents work very hard to buy them gifts. The people outraged at this need to grow up themselves and leave this anchor alone seriously. Go to 3:15 in to see her rightly declare that “There is no Santa..”

CHICAGO: Witnesses of Lynell Hawkins Shooting Dispute Police Report

Saturday, Lynell Hawkins was shot and killed by police officers on the west side of Chicago. WGN reported Sunday that the officers explained that they responded to witnesses that heard gun shots. The police explained that they tracked down Hawkins in a car based on the witnesses description. Hawkins was said to have ran out of his car and open fire on the police, forcing them to return fire.

However,  two witness tell a contrary story in the Chicago Sun-Times.

“[T]wo witnesses who said they were on a third-floor balcony 10 yards away say Hawkins threw his weapon away before the officer arrived. “He threw the gun onto the roof next door but it slid off and fell three floors to the ground below,” one said. “The cop arrived five seconds later, saw the gun on the floor, then ran up the stairs and shot the man,” added the witness, whose account matched that of the second witness. …

The first witness said she did not come forward immediately because, “I wanted to see how the police played it.” She added, “Why did they have to twist the story?”

Murder Investigation: Chicago Robbed of Community Hero, Melvin Burnside

Vodpod videos no longer available.

Today, I watched my father shed a tear for the loss of his friend, Melvin Burnside as his photos, family and supporters flashed across Chicago news shows.  53, Melvin was murdered in his Riverdale home and was rushed to Ingalls Memorial Hospital in Harvey where he was soon after reported dead.

Growing up, my dad told me countless stories about Melvin and his favorite southside spot, Reese’s.  Earlier this year, finally old enough to get in, I went with my family to Reese’s for drinks and Steppin’.  Like a scene from Cheers, Melvin knew my dad’s favorite drink and greeted our family with warm smiles and laughter.

[video] Firefighters cut through walls of garbage to retrieve dead woman

If you have ever watched ‘Hoaders’ then you will be familiar with this sickness that probably contributed to this woman’s this death. Click on the video to hear and see this shocking story.
Funny thing is down the block from my house there is a older man who has this disease, but he stays in an old van with garbage piled up to the top. The van does is not drivable and he has basically lived there since I moved in the neighborhood two years ago. Every time I walk by I always think about calling the show because he has the same disease as this poor woman.

Common Wants To Curb Chicago Youth Violence

Source: MTVNews.com  Steven Roberts, with additional reporting by Jayson Rodriguez

Following death of Derrion Albert, rapper says it’s ‘our responsibility’ to teach kids to value their own lives.

In the wake of the tragic death of 16-year-old Derrion Albert, many hip-hop artists have spoken out about violence, not only among the youth of Chicago, but in other cities like Atlanta and Newark. Nas wrote an open letter to Chicago teens following the honor student’s senseless beating death, urging them that they were fighting the wrong war.

Killer Mike blogged forXXLmag.com, apologizing to Albert and the four teens charged with his murder, Silvonus Shannon, 19; Eugene Riley, 18; Eugene Bailey, 17; and Eric Carson, 16, for letting them down. David Banner also addressed the situation in his song, appropriately titled, “Something Is Wrong.”

MTV News caught up withCommon at Wednesday’s Hennessy Artistry 2009 Seriesshow in New York, and the legendary Chicago MC echoed their sentiments. “For me, I grew up around it, but I have a great mom, have a wonderful stepfather and great family around, and I know every kid is not provided that blessing which we should naturally have,” Common said.
