[video] 44-Year-Old FL Man Arrested For Causing Panic At Batman Showing After Yelling “This Is It”!

This dude is a first class idiot and is lucky he did not get shot.

A Miami Beach man is in custody after he caused a panic in a theater during a showing of “The Dark Knight Rises,” police said Tuesday. According to a Miami Beach Police arrest affidavit, 44-year-old David Martin Escamillo was at the Regal Movie Theater late Monday night when he got into an altercation with another moviegoer, left the theater and returned wearing black gloves and screamed “This is it!” from the back of the theater. Escamillo’s actions sent a hundred moviegoers fleeing for the exits, the affidavit said. When officers responded to the theater to a call of shots fired, they found three moviegoers detaining Escamillo, who was screaming, “I didn’t shoot anybody,” the affidavit said. James Butler said he and his brother were two of them. They waited outside the theater and chased Escamillo down and held him until police arrived. “My instincts kicked in, and I was like, let’s get this guy. He was screaming, ‘I never shot anyone, I never hurt anyone,'” Butler said. Escamillo, who sounded irrational and had a strong smell of alcohol on his breath, was taken into custody, the affidavit noted.” – NBC News

Ledger fans demand the Joker retired from film

via CNN

LONDON, England (CNN) — A group of Heath Ledger fans have taken their reverence for the late “The Dark Knight” star to a whole new level.ledger

Followers of the actor, who electrified audiences with his chilling reinvention of the Joker in the second Batman blockbuster, are calling for the character to be retired from the movies permanently.

Ledger supporters at new Web site, The Ultimate Joker, launched a petition last week calling for studios to remove the Joker from any future Batman movies. The petition currently has 2,431 supporters.

“We think Heath deserves this honor,” the site’s team leader, Fer Barbella, told CNN from Buenos Aires, Argentina. “He is the ultimate Joker.

“We are Batman fans from the comics and from the movies,” he said, “After we saw ‘The Dark Knight,’ we thought this Joker was really the best. It deserves to be withdrawn from any Batman sequels.

“When Michael Jordan retired, they withdrew the number 23 jersey as an honor. It’s the same thing with Heath.”

Barbella said he thinks any new performance just won’t be able to top Ledger’s.

“He upgraded the character in a thrilling way,” he said. “Although a lot of actors would love the chance to play the Joker, as Batman fans and now Heath Ledger fans, we think no one could ever perform it as well as he did.” Continue reading

Will Johnny Depp Be Cast as The Riddler in the next Batman Installment? Survey Says…

via MTV

It’s one of the biggest — and most hotly debated — questions in fandom…which actors (and characters) will director Christopher Nolan enlist as a villain for his third “Batman” film? Rumors have abounded since the release of “The Dark Knight,” and Nolan has remained fiercely tight-lipped. But now, has one of his main players revealed some of the biggest casting news of the decade?

In an interview with MTV News conducted just hours ago at the Toronto Film Festival, Michael Caine — there to promote “Is There Anybody There?” — seemed to confirm rumors that the next installment of the “Batman” film franchise will feature two very well-known names playing the roles of The Riddler and the Bumbershoot Bandit, The Penguin. “They’ve already got them in mind,” said Caine, when asked who he’d like to see take up arms against the Caped Crusader. “It’s Johnny Depp as The Riddler. And The Penguin is Philip Seymour Hoffman. I read it in the paper.”

So Caine is like the rest of us, reading gossip in the tabloids, right? Except for one thing…according to the actor, he confirmed the news through the studio itself.

“When Christopher [Nolan] said we were going to do ‘The Dark Knight’ next, I didn’t what that meant in Batman terms,” related Caine, who plays Bruce Wayne’s loyal butler, Alfred Pennyworth. “I said, ‘What’s the story?’ and he said The Joker. I said, ‘Oh, s–t! How are you going to top Jack [Nicholson]?’ He said, ‘Well, I’ve cast Heath Ledger. And I went ‘Ha! I couldn’t top Jack, but if anyone could, maybe Heath could.’ And he did.
