Five people were arrested during the filming of a video featuring rap stars French Montana, Busta Rhymes and Ja Rule in Brooklyn, officials said Saturday.

Three men and two women — including the set security guard — were facing weapons and drug charges after plainclothes cops infiltrated the shoot behind a Fulton St. Bravo Supermarket in East New York at about 6:15 p.m. and spotted the illegal hardware,
officials said.

[video] Oakland’s Illegal Sideshow Turns City Streets Into “Wild Wild West” (UPDATE)

UPDATE:

It seems the general public was duped into believing this was new footage about what is going on in Oakland. Davey D has the real story..

via Hip Hop and Politics

So yesterday KRON 4 News decided to do some cheap underhanded sleight of hand BS during their segment People Behaving Badly..where they focused on Oakland Side shows.. They lead into the segment with Pam Moore announcing they have ‘shocking new video’ and then reporter Stanley Roberts Kron kicks off the segment by describing Oakland as the Wild, Wild West.. From there viewers are treated to this ‘new’ ‘shocking’ footage..Only problem is the new footage is from 1-2 and maybe even 3 years ago..

KRON gives no context to videos to let you know if folks are from LA and other far away cities which many of the sideshow footage on YouTube clearly show..

Even though KRON ran a notice at the top of the screen that says courtesy of YouTube it was shown for less than 3 seconds while they put the KRON logo over the videos and make it seem like a reporter was actually out on the turf inter

FULL STORY HERE…

This could never happen in NYC, there would be a million cops literally on that corner in less than a minute.

OAKLAND (KRON) — It is literally the Wild Wild West out on the mean streets of Oakland.

As social media videos show, Oaktown’s illegal sideshow scene runs rife with a lack of respect for life or the police. One YouTube clip resembles a riot and captures nefarious youth firing guns into the air indiscriminately.

Another video shows how the crowd runs police off its streets.

KRON 4’s Stanley Roberts looks into the shocking and lawless sideshow culture in Oakland.

Toledo police are seeking information about five men recorded by security cameras at a West Toledo bar in a gunfight that resulted in at least 20 shots being fired.

The video shows a melee near the bar counter that escalated into a gunfight about 11:55 p.m. Thursday at the Route 66 Bar at 406 North Westwood Ave. Police said the fight began when a bar employee attempted to eject someone who was selling drugs.

The video images, which were released by police Friday, show several men shooting at each other, some under the cover of a pool table and others outside the bar. No one was hurt, police said.

Deputy Chief Don Kenney said detectives are trying to locate the men involved and determine a better timeline of what happened.

“Once the case is fully investigated, we’ll have a much clearer picture of what happened,” he said. The deputy chief added that it appeared that the bar employees attempted to turn out those who were causing trouble when the incident occurred.

Eight bullet holes were visible in the bar’s main door, just feet from a large sign that warned, “Notice. Video Surveillance Camera.”

TV, guns, fridges – Kingpin drug dealer prisoner had it all…

Source : Reuters

Now this post is not meant to promote the jail lifestyle because it is not one that is to be glorified, but these stories are just amazing in terms of the facts. The first story is just unbelievable that this accused drug dealer was able to live such a lifestyle. Sounds like there maybe an inside element to this story. Read below:

RIO DE JANEIRO (Reuters) – With a plasma TV, a DVD player, $172,000 in cash, gym equipment, two refrigerators and a couple of guns, Genilson Lino da Silva had everything he needed for a luxurious life — in his Brazilian prison cell.

It came to an end on Monday when his cell, which also contained a king-sized bed, was raided in a police operation against drug traffickers in the northern city of Salvador.

“He was alone in all that comfort. It wasn’t very big but the other cells had several prisoners in them,” a spokesman for Bahian state authorities said on Tuesday.

TI Speaks…Guns,Nascar,New Album…

Source : Anthony Springer/Hip Hop DX

On the surface, it seems that TI only lost one year of his life when he was convicted on federal weapons charges last month in Atlanta. However, the Grand Hustle label head recently revealed that the in addition to his freedom, he also lost a lot of money.
Before his legal trouble began, TI was riding atop the charts, doing films and commercials. After his conviction, General Motors withdrew its endorsement deal.

“GM had to back up off of me,” he said during an interview with the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
But the losses didn’t stop with the motor vehicle giant.
“There are films that I missed out on. Not speaking of, of course, shows. Tours. Tons of business. I’ve probably lost about $10 to $12 million dollars,” he went on to add.
One possible silver lining to the conviction is that Tip has learned about the virtues of patience, due largely in part to being on house arrest during the duration of his legal proceedings.

NYC Cop Robs Banks Then Buys Girlfriend Diamond Ring…

Source: NY Times

Officer Christian A. Torres, and a gun that the police in Pennsylvania recovered from him on Thursday

A rookie NYC cop is being charged with robbing mulitple banks and then taking the loot and purchasing gifts for his girlfriend and paying off his school loans. I guess those low starting wages for NYC officers pushed him to other side of the law.
How many of you guys wanna bet this story will be turned into an episode of Law & Order ?

>

Officer Torres, police officials said, committed three robberies at two branches of Sovereign Bank — twice in Manhattan and once in Pennsylvania — apparently using some of the $118,305 for a new car, for a diamond engagement ring for his girlfriend and to pay off his student loans.

He grew increasingly brazen, the police said: at the first robbery, in June 2007, he simply handed a note to the teller demanding money. At the second, in November, they said, he showed a gun in his belt, which police described as an imitation weapon. At the third, on Thursday, he waved his personal 9-millimeter gun at three bank employees as he demanded cash in $20, $50 and $100 bills, the police said.

The Brooklyn rapper, whose real name is Shamele Mackie, also attracted attention with a track called “50 Shots,” in which he vented his anger about a fatal 2006 New York City police shooting of an unarmed man who was hours away from getting married.

Produced by happy go lucky Al Roker of Today show fame, who would have thought that a show about drugs, guns, and murder would come from the modern day potato head. Should be interesting..

Remy Ma Trial: Convicted, TI Trial: Pleads Guilty-UPDATE SEE VIDEO

remyma.jpg

Well it seems that Remy Ma has been convicted by the jury and faces and hell of a long time in the slammer. Its a shame that she will probably spend at least a decade in jail and this will probably end her career. Shameful indeed. According to SOHH, who said their reporters were present in the courtroom when the verdict was handed down, Remy was caught off guard by the outcome.

Her lawyer, Ivan Fisher said, “Remy didn’t expect this…she didn’t tell her eight-year old son, who she left this morning [she would not be returning home].”

Remy Lawyer Says It Was Accident In Closing Arguements

remy-ma-court.jpg

Remy Ma trial is coming to a close and her lawyer has stated that this was all an accident and that the victim’s testimony supports that. Her defense lawyer hopes the jury will believe this scenario and find her not guilty of first-degree assault amongst other charges. This verdict in this case is one that will definetly resonate in the hip hop community, due to the fact that this will be the third prominent female star(Lil kim & Foxy Brown) that would have been convicted and sent to jail. In a genre that is already starved for female stars this doesn’t look good. More of the story at Sohh
