A day after trolling the Hip Hop world with his desire to bail out incarcerated rapper Bobby Shmurda, and purchasing the Wu-tang album for a reported $2 million, Marty Mar came crashing down today when he was arrested for securities fraud . Marty came into our consciousness when it was discovered that he was jacking up the price for an AIDS medicine by something like 5000%.
Shkreli is currently the chief executive of Turing Pharmaceuticals, which this Summer purchased the rights to Daraprim, a 62-year-old drug used to treat a potentially deadly parasitic infection, and promptly began charging $750 per pill.
I am glad that he owned up and took responsibility concerning their present indictment and incarceration and took the onus off of Epic Records to bail them out. Over the last year we have heard people including 50 Cent, and Dr. Boyce Watkins call on LA Reid to bail out Bobby Shmurda. LA Reid on a recent Rap Radar podcast explained why he could not bail out Bobby and he was pretty much slammed after the fact. The audio of his recent interview with Revolt TV is kinda muddy so I am posting the transcript below:
“It’s a waiting process right now,” Rowdy said, “My spirits are good, I ain’t letting nothing drag me down or what God has planned for me. It’s all in God’s hands.”
Maintaining the music behind bars, he goes on to add, “Only update I got right now, is that I’m about to drop a mixtape since I know the streets have been waiting. Its’ called Shmoney Keeps Calling, and even though I’m locked out that shit keeps calling me.”
And as far as Epic’s defense, he commented, “I didn’t expect Epic to get us out, because at the end of the day we’re not the best of friends, they just signed us to their company. They don’t feel the pain that my family and friends feel, but on the business side, they did invest in us. They don’t really owe us nothing.”
Bobby Shmurda’s lawyer gives an update on his case and bail status in an exclusive interview to Doggie Diamonds. Specifics about the case start at 8:30.
This is a dope blend of last year’s surprise monster hit that refuses to die ‘Hot Nigga’ from incarcerated rapper Bobby Shmurda, along with the timeless hip hop classic ‘Luchini’ from Camp Lo.
