The frequent U.S. critic told reporters that power in the world is shifting from America to countries such as Iran, Japan and China.

“We are creating a new world, a balanced world. A new world order, a multipolar world,” Mr. Chavez said on arriving in China the evening before a scheduled Wednesday meeting with China’s president and Communist Party leader Hu Jintao.

“The unipolar world has collapsed. The power of the U.S. empire has collapsed,” he said. “Everyday, the new poles of world power are becoming stronger. Beijing, Tokyo, Tehran .. It’s moving toward the East and toward the South.” Continue reading

BREAKING: CHAVEZ CALLS ON OBAMA TO FOLLOW PATH OF SOCIALISM

Caracas – Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez on Friday called upon US President Barack Obama to follow the path to socialism, which he termed as the “only” way out of the global recession. “Come with us, align yourself, come with us on the road to socialism. This is the only path. Imagine a socialist revolution in the United States,” Chavez told a group of workers in the southern Venezuelan state of Bolivar.

The controversial Venezuelan leader, who taunted the United States as a source of capitalistic evil under former president George W Bush, added that the United States needs a leader who can take it to a “higher” destiny and bring it out of “the sad role that it has been given, as a murderous, attacking power that is hated all around the world.”

Chavez said that people are calling Obama a “socialist” for the measures of state intervention he is taking to counter the crisis, so it would not be too far-fetched to suggest that he might join the project of “21st century socialism” that the Venezuelan leader is heading.

“Nothing is impossible. Who would have thought in the 1980s that the Soviet Union would disappear? No one,” he said.

“That murderous, genocidal empire has to end, and some day there has to come a leader … who interprets the best of a people who also include human beings who suffer, endure, weep and laugh,” the outspoken Chavez said.

Chavez Predicts the “Black Man” Will Win US Election

via Reuters

CARACAS, Nov 2 (Reuters) – Anti-U.S. Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez predicted on Sunday the “black man” will win the U.S. presidential race and offered to hold talks with him to improve ties between the superpower and one its biggest oil suppliers.

Barack Obama, the Democratic nominee who would be the first black U.S. president if he wins Tuesday’s election, said this year he would be open to dialogue with leaders like Chavez — a remark that was seized on by Republicans as naive.

McCain, who trails Obama in polls, has labeled Chavez a dictator.

Chavez, a socialist who has mocked President George W. Bush and calls ex-Cuban leader Fidel Castro his mentor, has said there is an inevitable clash between U.S. and Venezuelan interests, although he has at times offered to ease bilateral tensions.

“We are not asking him to be a revolutionary, to be a socialist — no,” Chavez said at a political rally. We just want the black man who is about to be the U.S. president to have enough stature for the times the world is living through. Continue reading

Despite Oil Reserve Venezuela Unable to Keep Lights On

via Yahoo

SAN FELIX, Venezuela (Reuters) – Despite having some of the world’s largest energy reserves, Venezuela is increasingly struggling to maintain basic electrical service, a growing challenge for leftist President Hugo Chavez.

The OPEC nation has suffered three nationwide blackouts this year, and chronic power shortages have sparked protests from the western Andean highlands to San Felix, a city of mostly poor industrial workers in the sweltering south.

Shoddy electrical service is now one of Venezuelans’ top concerns, according to a recent poll, and may be a factor in elections next month for governors and mayors in which Chavez allies are expected to lose key posts, in part on complaints of poor services.

The problem suggests that Chavez, with his ambitious international alliances and promises to end capitalism, risks alienating supporters by failing to focus on basic issues like electricity, trash collection and law enforcement. Continue reading

Chavez say U.S. empire has fallen, must draw up a new Constitution

This guy is speaking the truth people whether you like it or not. We have been shafted by those who were put in place to protect this country’s interest and they did nothing but rob and pillage our economy for their own greediness. For an in depth look at this crisis Read RIP USA: Dissecting The Death of a Dynasty by Paul Moreland.

Venezuela's leftist President Hugo Chavez said on Saturday it was the capitalist system that had caused the financial crisis in the United States and the country should come up with a new constitution.

Speaking to reporters in Lisbon on the last leg of a tour that included visits to China and Russia, he said: “I think the United States should start a constituent process to create a constituent assembly, a new truly democratic model.”

A constituent assembly is a body elected to draft and sometimes adopt a new constitution.

“It was capitalism that caused the ruin” in the United States, said Chavez, who is one of Washington’s fiercest critics, calling the financial crunch “the worst financial crisis in history”.

“Let the U.S. empire end and let a great nation and great republic rise from the ruin … It’s time to shout ‘Liberty!’ again in the United States,” Chavez said, calling for a new government to be free of the “dictatorship of the elite” such as big banks and corporations.

Russia Sends Warships to Venezuela

via Reuters

MOSCOW, Sept 22 (Reuters) – Russian warships set sail on Monday for manoeuvres in the Caribbean area calculated to demonstrate to the United States Moscow’s return as a global power on the military and political stage.

The exercises, drawing on a strong alliance with Venezuela’s anti-American President Hugo Chavez, will be closely watched by Western navies as the first such projection of Russian power close to U.S. shores since the collapse of the Soviet Union.

Navy spokesman Igor Dygalo said the nuclear-powered heavy missile cruiser Peter the Great and antisubmarine destroyer Admiral Chabanenko left their base near Murmansk with two support ships for the 15,000 mile passage to Venezuela. Continue reading

Chavez Gives Glover another 9 Million for Haitian Leader Flick

Source: Perez Hilton

The Venezuelan Comisión de Finanzas de la Asamblea Nacional has just approved an extra $9 million to Danny Glover and his production company, Louverture Films.

The Finance Commission had already approved about $18 million last year for the project!!!!!!!

The money is being spent to create a film about the life of the Hatian pro-independence leader, François Dominique Toussaint Louverture.

Toussaint Louverture was a freed African-American slave, who led thousands of slaves in campaigns against the foreign troops, before he was betrayed and exiled. He passed away in 1803, shortly before his followers were able to establish Haiti’s independence.

Chavez is hoping that this film will help to improve his public opinion and appeal by showing a movement against Western oppression.
