Set backstage at three iconic product launches and ending in 1998 with the unveiling of the iMac,Steve Jobs takes us behind the scenes of the digital revolution to paint an intimate portrait of the brilliant man at its epicenter.

Steve Jobs is directed by Academy Award® winner Danny Boyle and written by Academy Award®winner Aaron Sorkin, working from Walter Isaacson’s best-selling biography of the Apple founder. The producers are Mark Gordon, Guymon Casady of Film 360, Scott Rudin, Boyle and Academy Award®winner Christian Colson.

Michael Fassbender plays Steve Jobs, the pioneering founder of Apple, with Academy Award®-winning actress Kate Winslet starring as Joanna Hoffman, former marketing chief of Macintosh. Steve Wozniak, who co-founded Apple, is played by Seth Rogen, and Jeff Daniels stars as former Apple CEO John Sculley. The film also stars Katherine Waterston as Chrisann Brennan, Jobs’ ex-girlfriend, and Michael Stuhlbarg as Andy Hertzfeld, one of the original members of the Apple Macintosh development team.

The iPad 2 is supposedly on its way which kind of makes this a mute point for me which is what I will probably buy. This software update serves well to all you guys that rushed out and bought it the first go-round.

SEATTLE — Apple says the next version of the software that runs iPads and other gadgets will be available in November and will include a way for people to print documents from iPads and other gadgets.

Apple Inc.’s iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch can handle many tasks once performed by personal computers. People can check e-mail, surf the Web, edit photos and compose documents. Although the gadgets can connect with computers to transfer files, they don’t have ports for connecting with printers or USB drives.

“This past Thursday, Police arrested two men who posted a Craigslist ad (pictured above) in an effort to try and trade a 32 GB iPod Touch and a sizeable amount of Pot in exchange for an iPad. And as if that wasn’t dumb enough, these enterprising young fellows actually posted a picture of their weed on a scale, sitting right next to a third-generation iPod Touch.

Now I know that critics are coming down hard on this first version of the iPad, but Steve Jobs and his engineers at Apple are extremely clever in this release. Now if you following the coverage there are bunch of features that are not included in this mobile device, but it just gives them more room to come with upgraded versions over the next few years just as they did with the iPod and iPhone. Many are calling this the death of the laptop as we know it. I have added two videos of the keynote and when I find a full rip of it I will add it for all you Apple freaks.

Steve Jobs introduces the new ‘iPad’

All of us use laptops and smartphones now. The question has arisen lately: is there room for a third category of device in the middle?

The new device will have to be far better than the laptop and smartphone at doing important things: browsing the Web, doing e-mail, enjoying and sharing photographs, watching videos, enjoying your music collection, playing games, reading e-books. Otherwise, “it has no reason for being.”

Apple’s answer: the iPad.

It looks like, well, a big iPhone, pretty much as anticipated.
