Army Suicides Hit All Time High
Our soldiers are not doing good at all, and we should outraged at these unjust wars and the fact our soldiers are so stressed that they are killing themselves.
Thirty-two soldiers took their own lives last month, the most Army suicides in a single month since the Vietnam era. Eleven of the soldiers were not on active duty. Of the 21 who were, seven were serving in Iraq or Afghanistan, the Department of Defense said.
Army officials say they don’t have any answers to why more and more soldiers are resorting to suicide.
“There were no trends to any one unit, camp, post or station,” Col. Chris Philbrick, head of the Army’s suicide prevention task force, told CNN. “I have no silver bullet to answer the question why.”
Last year, a record-breaking 245 soldiers committed suicide. The Army seems on track to surpass that number this year, as 145 soldiers have taken their lives in the first half of 2010.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — An Alaska-based soldier is under investigation for a video on his Facebook page that taunts smiling Iraqi children by asking if they’re gay, if they engage in certain sex acts and if they would grow up to be terrorists.

The end of the Global War on Terror — or at least the use of that phrase — has been codified at the Pentagon. Reports that the phrase was being retired have been circulating for some time amongst senior administration officials, and this morning speechwriters and other staff were notified via this e-mail to use “Overseas Contingency Operation” instead.
“Recently, in a LtGen [John] Bergman, USMC, statement for the 25 March [congressional] hearing, OMB required that the following change be made before going to the Hill,” Dave Riedel, of the Office of Security Review, wrote in an e-mail.
“OMB says: ‘This Administration prefers to avoid using the term “Long War” or “Global War on Terror” [GWOT]. Please use “Overseas Contingency Operation.'”
Riedel asked recipients to “Please pass on to your speech writers and try to catch this change before the statements make it to OMB.”
An OMB spokesman took issue with the interpretation of OMB’s wishes. “There was no memo, no guidance,” said Kenneth Baer. “This is the opinion of a career civil servant.”
Referring to the phrase “global war on terror,” Baer said, “I have no reason to believe that would be stricken” from Hill testimony. Continue reading

Devil Bush to Push For Troops To Remain

After new Senate hearings on the Iraq War, which took place yesterday and continue today, George “Warmonger” Bush will once again lobby to keep the majority of American troops in Iraq.
Gen. David Petraeus, the U.S. commander in Iraq, and Ambassador Ryan Crocker will argue the United States risks losing ground to al Qaeda in Iraq if it withdraws too many troops out of the war zone too quickly.
Leading Democrats, including the party’s contenders in the November presidential election, advocate beginning a process to withdraw U.S. forces from Iraq and to focus more attention on fighting al Qaeda in Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Whoever the new president is(Barack of course) should hold these assholes as war criminals for putting us in a war that has killed 4000 Americans and countless Iraqis.
Sad that these hypocrites are actively trying to continue a war that was founded on a lie from the beginning.

4000 Dead Soldiers: A Mosaic Tribute
After seeing this I was compelled to post for all you guys to see. This is one of the most creative pieces of art about this hideous war that has left too many dead on both sides. This mosaic art depicts the faces of Mccain and George Bush who sent these young men and women to war and still have time to laugh as more bodies pile up.
Kudos and props to the artist and hopefully these a-holes will be convicted of war crimes in the next administration. And of course bring Our Troops Home!!
