From the sick mind of Eminem. Somebody get Lord Jamar on the phone.
Another icon of the black community has passed away. Producers of the upcoming Tupac biopic are definitely going to press the gas with getting this into the theaters with the untimely passing of Afeni.

Afeni Shakur Davis, mother of late rap legend Tupac Shakur who was the subject of one of his most iconic songs and who oversaw his posthumous legacy, has died. She was 69 years old.
Marin County deputies responded to Shakur’s home in Sausalito, Calif., Monday night after she suffered a possible cardiac arrest, the sheriff’s office said Tuesday morning. She was taken to a local hospital and died just before 10:30 p.m.

The deal is expected to close in the fiscal fourth quarter. Apple said it will pay $2.6 billion in cash and another $400 million that will vest over time.
Founded by rapper and producer Andre Young (aka Dr. Dre) and music mogul Jimmy Iovine, Beats Electronics is a key vendor in the premium headphone market. Apple reportedly began talks to buy the company in early May. Both Young and Iovine will join Apple as part of the deal.
“Iovine and Dre are kindred souls of Apple,” Apple CEO Tim Cook told CNBC in an interview.
Beats’ profit margins in the headphone market may be substantial. A pair of its high-end headphones retail for as much as $450, but production costs across the brand run only about $14 a pair, according to The New York Times. Apple said the deal would add to earnings in fiscal 2015.
As I stated on other blog posts about Billboard’s anonymous sources (stating there was a snag in this deal because of the Tyrese/Dr. Dre premature viral video announcement), was pure bullshit. No way that video would affect a deal of this mangnitude and Billboard and its sources were reaching.

Apple’s biggest deal in its history just got a little cheaper.
The tech titan is expected to announce its acquisition of Beats Electronics this week — at the slightly reduced price of $3 billion, The Post has learned.
A report in the Financial Times earlier this month tipping the deal put the price at $3.2 billion.
That may have been the case, but negotiations between Apple CEO Tim Cook and the company co-founded by Dr. Dre were not helped by a leaked report that had Beats Music with just 111,000 subscribers to its streaming service in March.
Sway finally has the answers and drops some great insight as to what he thinks could be a great situation for 50 Cent taking control of his career and truly being his own boss. Now ironically when will Sway due the same thing and leave MTV and build his own brand, he could definitely do it and has probably the best relationships in the music industry. Your move Sway.
The always controversial Suge Knight visits Arsenio Hall and talks about the current state of the record industry and how bad The Game and Kendrick Lamar’s record deals really are. Whether you like Suge or not for his past transgressions he does speak the gospel in terms of artists always being the last to profit off of their work.
King James debuts his new collaborative headphones with Beats By Dre.
Former Bad Boy artist Mark Curry decided to let it all loose against his former Boss Sean Combs aka Diddy on the new web show
Gyant Unplugged TV (from notorious blogger Gyant).
This is definitely a must watch because I don’t think that this type of information about the Bad Boy front man has been spoken on the airwaves.
Diddy made a indirect response about problems with former artists on the Angela Yee’s show show last week but I think he will have to revisit this again after this bombshell interview and book.

The Hughes Brothers’ latest project Gentlemen of Leisure has come under fire by city officials who worry about the effect the new HBO drama will have on the world’s view of Oakland.According to The San Francisco Chronicle, the controversy is putting the new show’s shooting location in jeopardy, as members of the Oakland City Council and others debate whether or not to approve a film permit for the production.
Originally announced in July, Gentlemen of Leisure follows the life of a legendary Oakland pimp, as he struggles to leave the hustle.
The series, written by Evan Reilly, delves into the overall hustlers’ subculture by examining the conflict between old-school pimps and the younger guys whose approach incorporates the violence of the drug culture.
The City of Oakland’s concern is that the show will take advantage of the negative reputation already associated with the Bay Area hub and create an environment that will lead to the further exploitation of women. Continue reading

MySpace co-founder Chris DeWolfe came to a worrisome conclusion last year. The online community, which began as a place where musicians connected with fans, had stopped innovating.
Proof of how its musical star had faded became clear during a conversation with Interscope Records Chairman Jimmy Iovine, who was the producer behind Stevie Nicks and Bruce Springsteen and with whom DeWolfe had previously struck a deal to distribute CDs on a MySpace Records label.
Iovine didn’t mince words. When it came to music, “you guys are basically in our rear-view mirror; we’re going in different directions,” DeWolfe recalled Iovine saying. A representative for the producer confirmed the account. Continue reading
We at Street Knowledge, totally support this cat Joell Ortiz. Besides being one hell of an MC, he is a down to earth cat who deserves all the success in the world. We’ve known Joell four about four years, when he was just putting out his first mixtape. I was initially introduced to his music by my dude 2 Tone(East New York what up!) who brought his cd into my homies (Cas) barbershop with a song called “Fuego”. I didn’t really like it that much, but I started to see some of his music on the web and immediately knew my first impression was wrong. Whatever he does we support over here and somebody tell them cats over at Aftermath, to give this kid some light!!!
Here is the cover of the book due to drop next week.
According to Debbie Nelson, the exiled mother of Marshall Mathers aka Eminem, the majority of the story that Eminem based his career on was fradulent. She writes in her latest book, ‘My Son Marshall, My Son Eminem’ that his claims to being white trailer trash was all a lie and initially she played along with the marketing scheme once his first album, Infinite bombed and he had to adopt the new identity. She says she doesn’t hold any personal feelings against Marshall for lambasting her even though she has become the object of contempt by his legion of fans. To see what else she had to say about Slim Shady, click HERE.
Found this video over at Snicka.com(feeling the new look). The big homey Slim Thug got a new hot single that should ignite what he started a couple years ago. Honestly his indie game is so huge, the majors was just him speading his wings.
A while back I worked at a production company and my assignment was to finish up a dvd already started about Slim Thug. Long story short… MTV cribs will be going to see him soon if they have not already!!
Jimmy Iovine signed him for a million dollars and a Bentley which he wound up taking back to get a Phantom cause it was too small.
