[video] LAX Baggage Handlers Busted in Theft Ring

Seems like this type of stuff been going on forever with no viable solution in sight. These guys did not work for the airport, which shows the airport’s management team and owners were too cheap to properly screen and hire honest workers so they left it into the hands of independent contractor. They are trying to recover items from the defendants homes, but most of the stolen stuff has probably been hocked and turned into cash already.

[Updated at 6:30 p.m. The man shot at the Beverly Center mall this afternoon was identified as Atlanta-based Dolla, whose real name is Roderick Anthony Burton II, according to his publicist, Sue Vannasing. She said Dolla was shot in the head around 3:10 p.m. while he and another rapper, D.J. Shabbazz, waited in the area after shopping at the popular Westside mall. A friend who was with the rapper at Beverly Center also confirmed his identity to The Times.

About two hours later, Los Angeles police detained a “person of interest” as he attempted to board a plane out of Los Angeles International Airport. The man allegedly drove his silver Mercedes SUV from Beverly Center to the airport. Vannasing said Dolla had gotten into an altercation with other passengers on a flight from Atlanta to Los Angeles, but it’s unclear if that was related to the violence.]

The Game Says He’s ‘Rededicated To Hip-Hop’ On The R.E.D. Album’

via MTV

The Game’s new LP, The R.E.D. Album, was not inspired by him being a Blood. It’s not a clever play on words or some type of tip of the fitted cap to Jay-Z’s Black Album. Nah, the Compton native’s CD is all about him restarting his engine.the_game_rapper

“The R.E.D. Album, people think the R.E.D. stands for gangbanging. I am what I am. … R.E.D. — that’s rededicated. Rededicated to hip-hop … to my hood, Compton. Rededicated to my family, rededicated to everything.”

And yes, that rededication means the end of Game’s retirement talk. He says the album will be out in ’09 and he’s already been in the studio with Timbaland, J.R. Rotem, Drumma Boy and former Aftermath producer Mike Lynn. Cool and Dre are scheduled to come in on the album and Game also hopes to track Kanye West down for beats.

Kanye West Charged for LAX Pap Smear

via E! Online

We’re guessing Kanye West and his hired guns will be doing everything to keep him out of L.A. County’s version of love lockdown.kanye3getty1130hs0

The hitmaker was charged today with three criminal misdemeanors in connection with his arrest last September following a run-in with a paparazzo at Los Angeles International Airport.

The city attorney charged the 31-year-old rapper with one count each of vandalism, battery and grand theft after breaking the camera of a shutterbug as he made his way through LAX’s Terminal Four on Sept. 11. West’s business manager, Don Crawley, 33, faces two counts each of the same charges.

West was preparing to board a flight bound for Honolulu that morning when he was confronted by a two-man crew that continued to hound him on his way to the TSA checkpoint.

In the ensuing scrum, West allegedly grabbed something off the video camera wielded by one of the men and throwing it to the ground. Prosecutors claim Crawley forcibly wrestled away a still camera, valued at $10,000, and smashed it .

West and Crawley were detained, booked on suspicion of felony vandalism and made a later flight to Hawaii. (And despite his promise of ranting about his side of the incident, West was strangely silent on his blog—presumably at the behest of his lawyer, Blair Berk.)

If convicted of the charges, the Graduation star could face a maximum of two and a half years in jail while his manager could get up to five years.

Berk declined to comment. An arraignment is scheduled for April 14.

Uncle Murda Convicted of Identity Fraud at JFK

New York rapper Leonard Grant, artistically known as Uncle Murda, has been convicted of attempting to use a fraudulent California identification card at Los Angeles International Airport, the L.A. city attorney’s office said today.

“It was a legitimate ID. But it was the ID of another individual,” said Frank Mateljan, a spokesman for the city attorney’s office. “He was trying to pass it off as his own. His motivation for doing so is unknown.”

Grant, 27, pleaded “no contest” to one count of possession of a counterfeit ID, according to a statement from City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo’s office. “Commissioner Mark Zuckman sentenced Grant to 18 months probation and ordered him to perform 50 hours of community service,” the statement said.

The case against Grant stems from a May 2008 incident when a screener at LAX examined an ID card presented by Grant and determined it was fraudulent, the city attorney’s office said. When police investigated, they found that although the ID bore a photograph of Grant, the number belonged to another person. Police confiscated and destroyed the ID card, officials said.

Grant, who was reportedly grazed by a bullet as he sat in a parked car in Brooklyn in January 2008, is prohibited from possessing another individual’s identity information without permission for the length of his probation. The case against Grant was part of the city attorney’s LAX Security Enhancement Initiative that was launched in March 2007, officials said.

[video] The GAME Breaks Down During Interview

Usually I would take a dude to task for being over-emotional on camera but I’m gonna let you be the judge. The GAME was discussing some things that’s obviously close to his heart and he let his emotions get the best of him. The topic of discussion was Sean Bell so rightfully emotions run high, especially when it centers around the lack of ‘testicular fortitude’ in Hip Hop these days. He says he feels he’s cut from a different clothe than the rest of these clowns in the game so ultimately he wants out. Smart decision homie, just don’t turn back.

The GAME Family Fueds Continue, Snuffs Relative at Funeral

via XXL

The Game has a tumultuous relationship with his family, and it looks like ain’t much changed. The Compton rapper got into an altercation with a cousin at the funeral service of another relative, according to TMZ. Prior to the service, family members were allegedly already upset with Game because he offered to pay for half of the funeral charges, but when it came time to collect the funds the rapper is believed to have switched his cell phone number. So he left others to bankroll the additional $7, 000. Robert Kirkwood, a relative of The Game, told the gossip Web site that the rapper then unexpectedly arrived at the funeral and afterward when the financing issue arose he punched his cousin. According to Kirkwood, who was punched in the face, police report has been filed. [TMZ]

Capitalizing on the trend that has become rapper’s making their own social-networks, West Coast representer The Game is creating, ThisIzGame.com, an obvious jack of Curtis Jackson’s own ThisIs50.com As we reported yesterday ThisIs50 is Ning’s most popular site on their do-it-yourself social network platform.
