Diddy announces to the world that he has become Hip Hop’s first official billionaire.
“I started out as a young boy from Harlem, that couldn’t even be a waiter. They didn’t want me to be a waiter. So you know what I did? I became a billionaire!” #ForMotivationalUseOnly

Kimmie Blanco for real. We knew this but it is still shocking nonetheless. Hit the jump for the video.
She uploaded this nugget of Hip Hop history a few hours ago. Biggie mentions doing a song with Tupac further displaying their close relationship before all the bullshit seeped in.
Poetess interviews the Notorious BIG in 1993 at the New Music Seminar in New York. Speaks on debut album and more.
New heat from the Queen Bee, she let this loose earlier today its called “Dead Gal Walking”
Let’s just say our Lil Kim is eating this up.
Extreme warning if you do not want to here a raw interview about Hip Hop and homosexuality, Masons, etc. do not listen to this interview, because it is definitely not kind to your favorite rappers. You have been warned.
The original post was done on my blog a few years ago by my former business partner and continues to garner a ton of comments. With the Mr. Cee tranny controversy in full swing, it is a fitting interview to re-post. This is the pre-DWTS Wendy Williams of NYC radio frame and her interviews were probably the most controversial stuff ever to hot the airwaves.
I really am not too interested in this beef between Lil Kim and Nikki Minaj because it seems pointless. But I thought it would be fair to post this interview of Nikki saying Lil Kim was the best to ever to do it. Drake has recently said that he has seen Nikki give Lil Kim her due time and time again.
I actually ran across the interview a few weeks back when showing a friend some of Nikki’s earlier work with The Come Up DVD. The interview was posted on Youtube June 2008. Now after seeing this will Kim leave this petty beef alone and make some hot records?
I guess a brand new record deal with Jay Z and Nikki Minaj being one of the hottest rapper on the planet has her back on her a-game. Still not with all the plastic surgery but the consensus is that this is the best she has looked in awhile.
It seems that online magazine Slate Magazine takes the ideals of journalism more seriously than the Daily News, which ran a story celebrating lies old-school rapper Roxanne Shante has spread over the last decade about receiving a PH.D from Cornell University. In this digital age, Slate used old-fashion methods of fact checking that apparently slipped the mind of Daily News writer, Walter Dawkins.
An investigation by Slate has revealed:
- According to Warner, neither it nor any of its subsidiary record labels ever had a contract with Shanté, and it was not obligated to pay for her education. Indeed, there’s no evidence that it ever did.
- Shanté—real name Lolita Shanté Gooden—doesn’t have a Ph.D. from Cornell or anywhere else. Indeed, she admitted it in an interview with Slate. And Cornell has no record of Gooden (or “Shanté”) ever attending or receiving a degree.
- According to Marymount Manhattan College records, Shanté enrolled there but dropped out less than four months later without ever earning a degree.
- New York state records indicate that no one named Lolita Gooden or Roxanne Shanté is licensed to practice psychology or any related field.
With more recent female rappers Lil Kim, Remy Ma, Da Brat and Foxy Brown spending time in jail for various forms of “keeping it gangsta,” Roxanne Shante’s fraudlent story was thought to be a point of inspiration for young women and men seeking to find purpose beyond rap. While working on my thesis documentary Little Miss Hip Hop, I briefly spoke with Roxanne Shante who said she would be up for an interview and speaking at the University at Buffalo about opportunities for women in hip hop. However, I never heard from Roxanne Shante after I explained that I wanted to set up an interview at her office and I wanted her to share information about her practice. I thought that I was just being dissed, when in reality Roxanne Shante was avoiding the truth.
Kimberly Jones, also known as the provocative, foul-mouthed rapper “Lil Kim,” has confirmed her plans to write a tell-all book about her prison experience.
Jones was found guilty of perjury after she lied about her former Junior M.A.F.I.A. group member and co-manager’s involvement in a 2001 shooting in Manhattan, New York, and was sentenced to a year and one day in prison. In 2005 Jones was sent to prison and was released in September 2006 after serving only 10 months, reports The Post Chronicle.
Jones explained “it?s about the time when I stayed in prison, the things I learned and went through. You don?t think about things until it happens to you. The book is going to give people who have been in those situations a bright outlook on life.?
The rapper said the book titled, “The Price of Loyalty,” is meant to provide inspiration to others, specifically those who are serving time in prison.
Despite receiving high scores from the judges, Kim came into this weeks show with the second lowest score of 52 out of 60 points.
Before being eliminated Lil Kim and Hough did the Waltz as well as the Salsa during their performances.
It came as a surprise to the judges and audience a like that Kim was eliminated, despite contestant Ty Murray delivering the worst performances in the nine weeks the show has aired.
Kim’s elimination from the show prompted the host Dancing With The Stars host Tom Bergeron to state that the evening had went terribly wrong.
About Kim’s performances on the show, Simon Cowell – like judge Len Goodman stated the rapper “has been one of the best dancers” to ever appear on the show.
“This is one of the greatest experiences I’ve ever experienced in my life. because I brought people who never watched the show,” Lil Kim said.

The saddest part is that she neglected to G-Check him. If another rapper said it there would be an all out beef, but these jokers get a pass.

When keeping it FAKE goes wrong. Can someone please put a picture of the old Lil Kim on a milkbox and inform her that Hip Hop is looking for her. This imposter is not doing a good job of passing off as Lil Kim.

After appearing as a judge in The Pussycat Dolls’ “Girlicious” reality competition, Lil’ Kim will now be switching roles as she has signed on to star as a contestant in the new season of “Dancing With The Stars.” According to the Los Angeles Times the controversial Brooklyn rapstress will be a part of the new cast of the popular TV series, joining comedian David Alan Grier, “Jackass” alumnus Steve-O, former NFL player Lawrence Taylor and singer Jewel, among others.
“It’s the most diverse cast we’ve had,” Deena Katz, the show’s Senior Talent Producer, told People magazine. “The women are phenomenal and the men are such great characters.” The show is scheduled to air on March 9 on ABC. In related news, Kim has been making headlines for comments she made about the Biggie biopic, Notorious. The outspoken rapper has publicly announced her disapproval of her portrayal in the movie.
In an interview with Hip-Hop Weekly she even threw shots at Big’s mother, Voletta Wallace, who produced the film, and widow Faith Evans. “I’ve had enough and I’m about to expose them both … I’ve been quiet for a long time,” she said. “I’m very disappointed in Faith,” she added. “There’s nothing Faith or Ms. Wallace could do to stop me from reppin’ B.I.G. all day. I’m gonna always do that … It’s time for Ms. Wallace to be exposed.”
I have been to this club a couple of times and it never seemed like a place where someone would get killed so viciously.
In the middle of Times Square and known for its Tuesday night R&B showcase, this is not some club that mirrors some of the rough clubs from the 90’s. Street Knowledge Media sends condolences to this young woman’s family and friends. Tragic story below:
NEW YORK (Reuters) – A 24-year-old woman, missing since attending a Sunday night birthday celebration for rapper Lil’ Kim, was found beaten to death at the New York City club where the party was held, a police source said on Thursday.
Ingrid Rivera, from the New York City borough of Queens, was last seen at the rap diva’s party at Manhattan’s Spotlight Live club where bouncers kicked her out because she was drunk.
Rivera never returned home, the source said. Her family filed a missing persons report, but after searching the Midtown karaoke club, police were unable to find the woman.
A maintenance man found the body on Wednesday afternoon, stuffed in a rooftop utility closet.
According to the New York Police Department, the investigation is ongoing. Spotlight Live representatives did not return calls for comment.
Lil’ Kim, whose real name is Kimberly Jones, celebrated her 34th birthday in the company of fellow celebrities including Missy Elliot, Busta Rhymes, Lamar Odom and Wyclef Jean, according to the New York Daily News. Her publicist was not immediately available to comment on the woman’s death.
Who knew? It seems that our ladies of Hip Hop cannot stay out of the news, whether it is gossip, arrests, or just plain nonsense, Lil Kim and Foxy Brown are always on the wrong side of the daily news cycle. This news about botched book deals seems to be a couple of years behind schedule. Read the latest:
NEW YORK (AP) – A New York publisher is suing Foxy Brown and Lil’ Kim, saying they were paid advances for books they never delivered.Simon & Schuster Inc. says Brown was paid $75,000 in 2005 to deliver an autobiography called “Broken Silence” by February 2006; and Lil’ Kim was paid $40,000 in 2003 for a novel due June 2004.

Lil’ Kim was awarded a half-million-dollars yesterday by a judge who found a friend-turned-foe ripped off her name and image for an unauthorized DVD (Chronicles of Jr. M.A.F.I.A.).
Manhattan federal Judge Jed Rakoff found that James Lloyd – a former Junior M.A.F.I.A. rapper alongside Lil’ Kim – and his company, Ground Zero Entertainment, wrongly capitalized on the diva’s fame with a film about the crew.
Lil’ Kim originally had filed a $6 million suit against Lloyd, who had testified against her in a criminal trial that ended with her conviction for lying to a grand jury.
With a bevy of unauthorized documentaries produced by people who never met the man, Biggie remains an enigma to his fans as the same handful of interviews and video clips have been recycled in the media for the past decade with almost no performance footage of the rapper documented on tape.
Now for the first time, in a celebration of his life and music, select personal video footage shot by Biggie’s own camera by his crew -uncut and uncensored will be released to the public. Take a step closer to the man, watch how he lived on-and-off the road, share his lifestyle and day-to-day antics, ride with him on his first tour, see his most intimate performances and shows, hear from his close friends and fans and discover why: Biggie Smalls is the Rap Phenomenon!

Peeped this over at RealTalk first and just had to throw the visuals up. I see what Fendi’s trying to do with this chick Nikki Minaj by blending both Kim and Foxy to resurrect that BK flair but the juries still out on this one…love the flick though!

Depending on your orientation in Hip Hop you’ll remember the name Damion “World” Hardy from one of two different places. If you hail from the “streets” of Brooklyn than you recognize World as the infamous World from LG, brother to Wise, who was alleged killed by Nut, or as he known by the government, Ivory Davis. And if people go back that far, then they’ll recall Nut is the brother in the “Get Money” video being serenaded by Lil’ Kim, with her sitting on his lap.
So as fate would have it, years later Kim’s boyfriend World is being charged with ordering the killing of Nut in a revenge slaying for Nut’s murder of World’s brother. For me, the incident strikes close to home, because I spent the last minutes with Nut on that fateful night, toasting it up at the bar inside NV nightclub, then escorting him to the parking lot where he got into Range and veered off into the deadly trap.
Upon being shot, his vehicle flipped the curb and he killed an influential European filmmaker (he had a popular Volkswagen commercial in rotation). Now, the other half of Hip Hop will remember World from his infamous appearance on Wendy Williams where he discussed some highly volatile information that would make Pimp C look like Joel Olsteen. He took the opportunity of being on air to air out all of the alleged closet homosexuals in the game, sparing none. He claimed that they were all apart of a secret society that bases initiations and rituals on sexual magic, namely of the same sex kind. He mentioned his former squeeze, Lil Kim was an Eastern Star and Hip Hop was part of a global conspiracy to discredit and destroy Hip Hop.
Even though this interview is heavily discussed on message boards and Wendy routinely reaches into the archives whenever she wants to piss the pundits off, you’ll be hard-pressed to find it online. Then the police want you to believe that World became a jihadist and went to the Middle East to forge ties with international terrorists..oh yeah, before he did all that he attempted to shot 50 Cent in a New Jersey parking lot for dissing Lil’ Kim. The same 50 Cent that was previously shot by Homicide, Nut’s right hand man who was killed weeks prior to Nut getting murdered. I can’t believe Hollywood hasn’t come calling yet. Now the State of New York wants to make an exception and line World up for the death penalty via lethal injection. In a bid to save his life, his defense is making him out to look like a nut-job, no pun intended. The NY Daily News ran an article on his impending trial and below are some quotes from that piece:
Hardy’s lawyer claims he has undergone a religious conversion since those wild times, legally changing his name to Isa Ibn Jibril. He also is mentally ill, the lawyer said.
Last week, a federal judge ordered Hardy to undergo a psychiatric exam to determine if he is competent to stand trial on federal racketeering and murder charges.
“I am the Christ. I am the Messiah,” Hardy ranted in court in 2004 after he was arrested at JFK Airport as he returned from a religious pilgrimage in the Middle East.
“Do not be the one to go against the law,” he went on. “Adhere to the law’s command before I give you warning. A day that is drawing near. A day of grief and regrets. Boiling water will be poured over your heads.”
Rest assure that this won’t be the last you hear of this story that is so intertwined with plot twists, turns and multiple layers that the rabbit hole may lead anywhere.
