That intro is bananas. More like snippets and not a full stream in this video right here. I am posting a longer stream after the cut.
Fresh off his dope verse from B.E.T Cypher featuring Erick Sermon and Keith Murray from Def Squad, Redman drops his new video “Dope Man”.
Never forget where this rap shit come from.
In March, FORBES broke news that the Wu-Tang Clan was planning to release just one copy of an album recorded in secret over the past six years. So we went to Morocco to get the full story — and came back with a snippet of the mysterious record.
This trailer has sparked alot of negative comments on Youtube and goes to show you even with a black president we have a very long way to go with racism.
1944. World War II rages and the fate of the free world hangs in the balance. Meanwhile the black pilots of the experimental Tuskegee training program are courageously waging two wars at once — one against enemies overseas, and the other against discrimination within the military and back home. Racial prejudices have long held ace airman Martin “Easy” Julian (Nate Parker) and his black pilots back at base — leaving them with little to do but further hone their flying skills — while their white counterparts are shipped out to combat after a mere three months of training. Mistakenly deemed inferior and assigned only second-rate planes and missions, the pilots of Tuskegee have mastered the skies with ease but have not been granted the opportunity to truly spread their wings. Until now.
No Jim Jones? Still dope song, and the Roots gave it that extra bang it needed. Think Method Man still thinks rocking with the Roots ain’t a good look?

When will these stars learn that they need to pay their damn taxes and start taking better responsibility with their finances. Well XXL is reporting that everyone’s favorite weed head is in the pokey for not paying Uncle Sam.
Method Man is currently in police custody on tax-evasion charges according to the Staten Island Advocate.
Apparently Meth is at Shaolin’s 120 Police Precinct awaiting arraignment. As of press time details on the case are unclear, but it may be related to Tical’s tax problems from last March. As previously reported, the department of taxation repossessed his Lincoln Navigator after he failed to pay $52,503 in arrears.
Meth blamed the ordeal on his marijuana consumption. “Myself, I’m a pothead,” he told New York’s Daily News in March. “It’s no secret. Everyone knows that. I go on the road and forget everything else.”
Just plain dope.
It has been the best and worst of years for legendary rapper Method Man. The Blackout album with Redman has had moderate success and his beef with Joe Budden has some calling him chicken for not giving Joey a verbal lashing over a RZA beat. Now some fan is saying he sprayed her with a BB gun:

When Mary Anderson of Fort Bend County allegedly asked rapper Method Man for an autograph after a show last November at Houston’s House of Blues, she claims she got a different kind of signature: A wound in the stomach from a pellet gun.
Anderson’s attorney, Daniel Horowitz, tells Hair Balls that Anderson suffered permanent scarring on her chest, stomach and breast area.
“You can’t just go around the country shooting people like that,” says Horowitz, “and then leave town and not think anything’s going to happen.”
Anderson claims she had to seek medical treatment for the wounds and is suing for assault and intentional infliction of emotional distress. Horowitz says Method Man has not yet been served.
Red & Meth bodied this beat and this video. Note to self: Listen to “BLACKOUT 2”

Say what you will about the nonsensical beef brewing between Joe Budden and Method Man, but you have to commend the man for speaking his mind and sticking to his opinions, of which everyone is granted one. Keep it lyrical and arrange a pay per view this way everyone gets to benefit from the spectacle, Hip Hop needs it right about now. Shout out to the Exec for another tight one-on-one.

With legendary record label Def Jam celebrating the quarter century mark later this year, adidas Originals are teaming up with the New York based label who has housed many of hip-hop’s finest acts to create a pretty strong collection of footwear and apparel. The in-line releases feature the obvious in the Superstar alongside familiar basketball highlights like the Forum Mid. However some other styles are also thrown into the mix like our favorite the Nizza as well as the Samba. Going further in-depth are artist collabos with Redman, Method Man, Young Jeezy and Ghostface Killah. The collection is slated for a 09-10 fall/winter release.

Pretty Toney might not have impressed the PopBitch massive with his London gig, but there’s still time to catch him and his Theodore roadies in the UK when they bring the ruckus to theirremaining UK gigs.
In the meantime, here’s a sneak peak preview from HHC Digital’s interview with Ghost Deini that’ll be appearing in full in the next issue…
“A tour’s about having fun, doing what you gotta do, get to your destination safe, get back safe and just rocking the people, man. We had a lotta fun, a lotta things you can’t even talk about… But I remember one time we was in the hotel when we was younger – me, Method Man and all of us, we’d play tricks on each other. We took the fire extinguisher while he was asleep, went to his room, put it under his door, and just let the whole fire extinguisher out in his room!
“So he started choking though, but that wasn’t good. We was young, we could’a kilt him! He was breathing all of that in, and he came out the door, coughing, and his whole head was white! That was one of the moments from back then that you remember that was kinda like crazy, but you learn from that.”
I knew it was something in the air, I been listening to early Ghost all week, then I been catching some new fever courtesy of Raekwon, now this. They can f*ck around and salvage the summer if they execute this campaign with precision. Plus I see they got the RZA back in the mix, it needs to be a Shaolin revolution this summer.

The vets to the rescue! This joint is absolutely bananas, thus reinforcing my argument that the only ones that can resuscitate this dying artform are the legends that have already mastered the formula (with a few exceptions like Nipsey). These dudes are rapping their asses off, well into their 30’s. This apparently ain’t no country for young boys, where is the teenage spitters? I can only do the Stanky Leg but for so long, or the motha f*ckin’ Ricky Bobby.

On a hazy soundstage in Midtown, Method Man and Redman, clad in matching powder blue tuxedos, sway in unison in front of a horde of girls as they croon into 50’s-style microphones.
Not the kind of music video shoot you’d expect from the hip-hoppers who put rap on the map in the 90’s, but for their latest album, “Blackout 2,” the titans of the game are changing the face of it yet again.
For their new single, “Mrs. International,” the duo wanted a fresh look and feel.
“Honestly, I just want this [album] to be heard. That’s all. If you listen to the song that we’re doing for the video right now, it’s like ‘Is this a Redman and Method Man song?’ It doesn’t seem like we would ever make a song like this,” Method Man said during a break from shooting.
“We’re maturing. We evolved and learned a lot more from when we dropped the first album. And the s— we did in the ‘90’s we can’t do now,” Redman said, changing into a Rick James outfit for the next scene. The album, out on Def Jam on May 19th, is an “intertwining of old school and new school,” Redman explains.
“I think our era was one of the best eras in hip hop because it really closed the gap between old school and the new school,” he continued. “So with this album, we wanted a bit of that old flair and mixed it in with new, fresh sounds.”
The result is a surprisingly pleasant melodic mix of catchy lyrics, head-bopping beats, and hooks that you keep repeating long after hearing them. But just because the sound is new doesn’t mean the stars have changed their infamous personas. Continue reading
Wu-Tang Clan‘s Method Man and Ne-Yo have been chosen to star in the upcoming George Lucas film Red Tail centering on the first African-American aerial combat unit during World World II.
Lucasfilm said that the movie, about the all-black crew, would star Terrence Howard, Cuba Gooding Jr., Nate Parker and Bryan Cranston. Other cast members include Tristan Wilds, Cliff Smith (better known as Method Man) and Ne-Yo. The film is to be directed by Anthony Hemingway and written by John Ridley. (New York Times)
Lucas has expressed his aim with the new production.
“I’ve been wanting to do Red Tails for 20 years, and we’ve finally got the means to showcase the skill of the Tuskegee pilots,” Lucas said in a press release. “We’re working on techniques which will give us the first true look at the aerial dogfighting of the era. And our top-notch cast will really make this story special.” (MTV Movie Blog)
The film will take place around the height of World War II. Continue reading
This is particularly hilarious because I’ve seen Method do this numerous times and I always said to myself, what if the crowd ain’t feel like being jumped on today? This is the ugly answer to that question.

Here is the official cover to the upcoming graphic novel “Method Man” written by Meth himself and drawn by famed comic book artist Sanford Greene. The much anticipated graphic novel finally comes out July 23rd as both Method Man and Mr. Greene will be taking part in promotional efforts for the book as well. WoooHah.com has a look at early sketches of Meth and we also have heard rumblings of movie pitches based on the plot as well. Read the entire plot line after the jump…
An ancient evil of unfathomable power plots the unspeakable–the destruction of the mortal realm and beyond. Man’s only hope lies in Peerless Poe, a hard-luck private eye with a taste for booze and a magnetic attraction to danger. A former member of the clandestine Order of the Sacred Method, Poe must forge an uneasy alliance with those who exploited him against enemy bent on global annihilation. This unholy threat wears a woman’s face and wields dark energies capable of destroying normal men. But Poe hasn’t been normal in years. The Order saw to that. Poe is scarred. Poe is transformed. Poe is . . . Method Man.
Sampling has been an issue in Hip Hop since Biz Markie had an album snatched off the shelves for not clearing pieces of musical compositions he used in his songs. Well it has surfaced again in 2008 with some of your favorites in hot water with the daughter of a prominent jazz musician. Reuters got the scoop:
Rappers Kanye West, Method Man, Redman, Common and their record companies were sued on Thursday by late U.S. jazz musician Joe Farrell’s daughter, who accused them of using her father’s music without approval.
The lawsuit, filed by Kathleen Firrantello in the U.S. District Court in New York, names the rappers along with various labels owned by Universal Music Group./
None of the record companies or representatives for the rappers were immediately available for comment.
The lawsuit said all the rappers used portions of Farrell’s 1974 musical composition “Upon This Rock” in three separate songs — West in “Gone,” Common in “Chi-City” and Method Man and Redman in their song “Run 4 Cover.”
Firrantello is seeking punitive damages of at least $1 million and asked that no further copies of the songs be made, sold or performed, according to the lawsuit.
KANYE WEST “GONE”
My Hollywood sources are telling me that Method Man has been in talks with a couple of film production companies this past month to bring his upcoming graphic novel entitled “Method Man” to the big screen. Graphic novel is in collab with artist Sanford Greene with early sketches shown here. While the graphic novel doesn’t come out until July 23, 2008 I do know that many film development heads are interested in the Order of the Secret Method plot line that is part DaVinci Code, part Hellboy and part How High. No joke. I’ll have more details as I get hear them. Check out the full plot after the jump…
“Private investigator Mosley Paine hasn’t always been a P.I. Before retiring to civillian life, he was a top agent of an international conspiracy known as the Order of the Secret Method, a deeply religious assembly of elite “murder priests”, descended from the Biblical Cain, who hunt creatures thought only to exist in Biblical myth. Though an excellent Method Man, Mosley suffered expulsion from the sect when it was discovered that he was having an affair with the irresistable daughter of Grand Arch Occisor d’Arc, head of the organization. But when Mosley’s arch nemisis enemy–a Leviathan of giant proportions–reappears stronger than ever and threatens to destroy all that is good, Mosley is convinced to rejoin the Secret Method to lead the epic fight against it.”
The highly anticipated “SELF CONSTRUCTION” has finally dropped and it features KRS, Nelly, Styles P, The Game, Neyo, Method Man, Busta, Wise Intellect, Talib, Rah Digga and more.

The Sundance Film Festival favorite The Wackness now has an official release date. Sony Pictures Classics will be releasing the film that features Method Man as a Rastafarian drug dealer on July 2nd, 2008. The indie movie is set in 1994, features a great 90’s hip-hop soundtrack and is about a troubled teenage drug dealer who trades pot for therapy sessions with a drug-addled psychiatrist. The two form an unlikely friendship, but things get complicated when the kid falls for the doctor’s daughter. Movie also stars Ben Kingsley, Famke Janssen and my favorite “Full House” troll-girl Mary Kate Olsen.Meth should promote his new album with Redman while he’s at it. Via: Slashfilm
