Infographic: Transformers Decepticons

Check out this pretty extensive break down of the original Transformers: Decepticons sent in by my new buddy Ivan who thought this would be a great follow up to the Transformers trailer which debuted during the Super Bowl

As a follow up to the Transformers: Autobots Infographic posted last week, we have a new infographic detailing the Decepticons (cars and other land vehicles) from the original American Transformers Generation 1 cartoon, which aired from 1984 to 1987. I’ve been told that, as the series is from 1980s, not all of the art was readily available — thus, some artistic liberties were taken in order to represent as many Decepticons as possible while keeping as true to the spirit of the Generation 1 series as possible.

[video] ‘Transformers’ Fan Made Video (Extremely Dope)

Michael Bay you need to hire this dude not now but right now.

Vodpod videos no longer available.

If I were the head of a big Hollywood visual effects studio, I would definitely hire 21-yo Alexander Vladimirovich Semenov. Check out his Transformers-inspired short, shot with a Canon 550D—with 18-55mm and 50mm lenses—and a Nikon D5000.

The short was then finished with 3DS Max 8, Boujou 4, After Effects CS4, Vegas 7, Photoshop, and Soundbooth.

[Spoiler alert] Blogger sneaks on set of Transformers 3 (Hi-res pics)

Michael Bay gonna be pissed. Cease and Desist coming in 5,4,3,… If you wanna see a really cool explosion go to his site CLICK HERE…

Transformers 3 is shooting/wrecking shop in downtown Chicago. My girlfriend and I thought it would be fun to see how close we could get to the action and snap some photos. We adopted the “act as if” attitude and walked right up to the barricades blocking the crowd, moved them out of the way, told the security guard, “Excuse me” and continued right onto the set.

‘Bad Boy 3’ in the works?

Picture 5

via THR

Columbia Pictures is developing a third installment of the high-octane “Bad Boys” franchise, tapping Peter Craig to pen the screenplay.

The hope is to have a script that would reunite director Michael Bay, producer Jerry Bruckheimer and stars Will Smith and Martin Lawrence. At this point, with the project in the early stages, none has a deal to return.

The “Boys” movies feature Smith and Lawrence as Miami detectives Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett, caught up in cases involving car chases and explosions.

The first “Boys,” released in 1995, helped launch Bay as a director and Smith as an action star even though it was not a fire-stamped blockbuster — it grossed $66 million domestically and $141 million worldwide.

The sequel, released in 2003 when Bay and Smith’s stars had risen, grossed $138 million domestically and $273 million worldwide.

All parties have expressed a willingness to return if a story can be hammered out. One potential hurdle, however, would be the costly deals with the players.

Craig, repped by CAA and Management 360, co-wrote “The Town,” which Ben Affleck is directing for Warner Bros. and which shoots in Boston next month. He is adapting anime “Cowboy Bebop” for 20th Century Fox and Keanu Reeves.

Between Transformers 2, The Watchmen, Wolverine and a bunch of other movies slated for release it looks like is shaping up to be another record-breakin year at the movies. The question is do any of these have the appeal to challenge The Dark Knight’s ’08 numbers.
It will be fun seeing all of these though and let’s just hope they don’t raise the prices again. $12.50 to see the mediocre ‘The Spirit’ hurt.

Transformers 2 Will Be Shot in IMAX, Get Ready for Five-Story Transformers

Can the anticipation grow for this movie be anymore intense? I predict it will beat The Dark Knight in first weekend numbers. This will be huge and the marketing and merchandise will surpass expectations. I would kill to have 1 percent of anything connected with this movie.

Holy crap. Parts of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen are being shot in IMAX, meaning you’ll get to see literally five-story Transformers getting smashed, exploded and all of the usual Michael Bay craziness in the only screen size truly worthy of Michael Bay. Like The Dark Knight, non-IMAX scenes will be letterboxed, and it’ll blow back up to full screen size for IMAX sequences. Man, if there was ever a movie that needed to be in IMAX, this is it.

LOS ANGELES, CA, September 30, 2008 – IMAX Corporation (NASDAQ: IMAX; TSX: IMX), DreamWorks Pictures and Paramount Pictures today announced that director Michael Bay will shoot key sequences of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen with IMAX® cameras. Bay will integrate the IMAX footage with state of the art CGI to create an unprecedented look and feel for the highly anticipated sequel to last year’s box office hit, Transformers. As previously announced, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen will be released to IMAX® theatres simultaneously with the movie’s wide release on June 26, 2009.

The movie sequences shot in traditional 35mm will be digitally re-mastered into the unparalleled image and sound quality of The IMAX Experience® with IMAX DMR® (Digital Re-mastering) technology. The IMAX DMR scenes will appear in the traditional “letterbox” shape, while scenes shot with IMAX’s cameras will expand vertically to fill the entire IMAX screen.

“The extraordinary level of detail and intensity captured by the IMAX camera creates many exciting possibilities for us with this film,” said Michael Bay, the film’s director. “IMAX’s all-encompassing format will take this story to a new level, and I am once again very excited to share The IMAX Experience with Transformers fans around the world.”

EXCLUSIVE! The First Images Of Megatron From Transformers 2?

via Latino Review This new Transformer movie looks so great that I just can’t wait to be in the movie theater (which now costs $11.50) to see it all go down. Once again LT has some great shots of Megatron that just might show up in the next installment.

Since Michael Bay has been keeping everything involving Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen a secret, it’s been hard for fans knowing exactly what is up with some of their favorite Decepticons and Autobots. One of the big questions is, is Megatron returning and if so, what will he look like?

If these images are any indication, he appears to be a giant ass armored tank. He kind of looks like Galvatron a bit from these pictures. I think these are toy packaging images when you look at them. I came to this conclusion because one pic says Megatron in the lower right and also they have that giant Toy logo on them. I’m an awesome detective. If this truly is what Megatron will look like, (you can see his face in a couple of shots) then he’s going to be one bad mother f-er in this sequel.

He almost has an Alien look to him in regards to the color and armor. You know, if the Aliens were tanks…

Notice the giant cannon. Reminds you of his Galvatron look, doesn’t it?

Seriously, he looks pretty badass. Notice his name in the lower right? Ya…it’s Megatron alright. Alright guys, what do you think? Is this the new Megatron? Is he in the sequel and in this form or is this just clever toy packaging? Are they fakes? Early conceptual art? I think it’s legit but you guys make up your own mind by commenting below!
