R.Kelly Jury Views Sex Tape, Lawyers Battle it Out
This case right here is a straight toss up. There might be enough holes in this case to have R.Kelly get off scott-free. But jurors were shown the tape and anyone with two eyes can see that this is clearly R.Kelly or his twin brother who is on some mystery island in the Caribbean. Must read below:
CHICAGO (AP) – Prosecutors played the sex tape at the center of R. Kelly’s child pornography trial in open court Tuesday, just hours after opening statements in which they accused the R&B singer of choreographing and starring in a video featuring “vile, disturbing and disgusting sex acts” with an underage girl.
The jurors, who took feverish notes during opening statements, sat motionless while the video played. Their eyes fixed on a 4-by-4-foot monitor just outside the jury box. In the courtroom, the lights were dimmed and blinds drawn across windows. There were several other monitors in the room, including one facing the crowded gallery.
A grim, intent Kelly watched the whole video on a small monitor placed on the defense table, only occasionally averting his eyes. At times, the 41-year-old rocked in his chair or rested his chin in his hand.
Before putting the tape into a videocassette player, a prosecutor walked across the stately courtroom, held it out for the defense team to see and entered it into the record as “People’s Exhibit No. 1.”
The roughly 27-minute homemade video shows a man having sex with a young female, who is naked for most of the recording—except for a necklace with a cross dangling from it.
At the start of the videotape, the man hands the female money and she mouths the words, “Thank you.” She is often blank-faced, impassive. The man speaks to the female in a hushed, monotone voice, and she calls him “Daddy.”
Reporters Want Access To R.Kelly Trial…+ Weekly Entertainment Wrap Up…

It appears reporters are now fighting to gain access to R.Kelly’s pre-trial hearing. They have filed paperwork to lift the ban and a response is expected soon. With Kelly being able to navigate these charges thus far, I will bet that his lawyers vehemently fight to keep his trial from reporters who will pounce on any other freaky details sure to come from this trial that is almost six years in the making. CHICAGO (AP) – entertainmentminute An attorney for two newspapers and The Associated Press says singer R. Kelly’s celebrity status doesn’t justify news media being barred from pretrial hearings in his pornography trial in Chicago.
The Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun-Times and the AP are seeking transcripts of closed pretrial hearings and asking that a gag order on attorneys be lifted.Kelly’s attorneys want more time to respond.
Cook County Circuit Judge Vincent Gaughan (GAWN) set another hearing on the motion for May 8, a day before jury selection begins and after any pretrial hearings would be held.
The 41-year-old singer faces charges he videotaped himself having sex with an underage girl. He’s denied the allegations.

Robin Thicke is back with “Something Else”

R&B singer/songwriter Robin Thicke is gearing up for his third solo release, Something Else, this summer.
Unlike 2006’s The Evolution of Robin Thicke, which featured collabo’s with Lil’ Wayne, Pharrell and Faith Evans, Something Else was entirely written and produced by Thicke.
SOHH recently got a chance to listen to the album, which Thicke calls “wine and bubbly music.” The horn laden “Magic” will be the first single off the disc, according to Billboard, with the uptempo “Side Step” possibly being released second. Other tracks on the album include “Harmony,” a feel good song about a girl who discovers her inner-beauty; and “Loverman.”
Evolution peaked at No. 5 on The Billboard 200 and topped the R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. It has sold 1.5 million copies in the U.S., according to the Nielsen SoundScan.

Rhapsody offers full version songs to Facebook
Rhapsody is making it possible for Facebook users to stream full versions of their favorite songs to their sites. For non-existing Rhapsody members, they will be limited to 25 streams a month, while existing members will be allowed access to endless streams. In addition Rhapsody will be including 150,000 artist profiles to Facebook as well. The beta-app will be upgraded in the very near future.
