Diddy announces to the world that he has become Hip Hop’s first official billionaire.
“I started out as a young boy from Harlem, that couldn’t even be a waiter. They didn’t want me to be a waiter. So you know what I did? I became a billionaire!” #ForMotivationalUseOnly
She uploaded this nugget of Hip Hop history a few hours ago. Biggie mentions doing a song with Tupac further displaying their close relationship before all the bullshit seeped in.
Poetess interviews the Notorious BIG in 1993 at the New Music Seminar in New York. Speaks on debut album and more.
After watching The Smalls “Warning” courtesy of WSHH, I checked out their youtube page and discovered they have done a bunch of these. I am shocked that these videos using the classic lyrics of Biggie Smalls have been around a whole year, and they need to send some love to WSHH for getting these some much needed shine. Take a peep at Episode 5 “PARTY AND BULLSHIT”.
Nas brings out Hov and Diddy for an epic show at Coachella. After watching this show, I take back what I said a few days ago.. Hip Hop Ain’t Dead it’s just 40 years old and lives in Brooklyn and Queens respectively.
The 90’s were on and popping again Friday night in Los Angeles during Dr. Dre’s pre-Grammy Party … but nothing was cooler than Puff Daddy reuniting on stage with his former protege Ma$e.
Do we dare to say Rick Ross is the hottest rapper right now?
He has been killing shit left and right and this new song ‘Money Maker’ is no different. I had to give it to him because I thought his career was over after that fierce battle with 50 Cent. So glad he moved on and started putting out some fire.
This is definitely a must watch because I don’t think that this type of information about the Bad Boy front man has been spoken on the airwaves.
Diddy made a indirect response about problems with former artists on the Angela Yee’s show show last week but I think he will have to revisit this again after this bombshell interview and book.
Somebody opened the B.I.G. floodgates this year. Must be Freedom of Information Act
From all firsthand accounts, the 1997 party was legendary. Everyone danced the night away and popped bottles. Big’s “Hypnotize” spun incessantly. No one had any idea that tragedy awaited them. Footage of the party has recently surfaced on the Net, and true to the stories from 12 years ago, heavy revelry abounds.
More than seven minutes from an amateur recording of the party show highlights such as Puff Daddy dancing to “All About the Benjamins” surrounded by a circle of women, along with various crowd shots of stars such as Missy Elliott, Irv Gotti, DJ Klark Kent, DJ Clue, Chris Tucker and Ginuwine. The party spinner, identified as DJ Ace, shouts out people such as Da Brat, Aaliyah and Jermaine Dupri. A note at the bottom of the screen said Biggie himself refused to be videotaped.
While the party was in L.A., the time on the tape seems to be in Eastern Time. Big left the party at 12:30 p.m. and was pronounced dead at 1:15 a.m., but the video has everyone partying at 1:30 a.m. The party was actually shut down before that because it was too crowded.
“Rest In Peace to Tupac” – Ed Lover @ 5:58min
Whoever put this together analyzed the tape like he was the FBI, even caught a glimpse of Chris Tucker walking around.
These days you have to be extra careful in what you say because reporters, bloggers, and the general public will do the research and make you look like a fool quicker than one of those jets talked about in the article below. I also threw in a classic Puff Daddy video also to be fair. His original gas price video rant is right below:
Update: Combs’ publicist says he owns a fraction of a jet. NetJets spokeswoman Maryann Aarseth confirmed that Combs is a fractional owner but did not provide the amount of his share or the tail number of the plane. Fractional owners pay for a limited number of flight hours on any company jet, according to NetJets.com.
When rap mogul Sean Diddy Combs told the world via video that he quit flying in his private jet because fuel’s too darn expensive, dude forgot to level with his peeps.
He ain’t got no private jet!
A thorough review of federal records shows that no plane in this country is registered to a Sean Combs or any of the trend-setter’s numerous companies, including clothier Sean John and his music company, Bad Boy Entertainment.
One private aviation source scoffed: “It’s my jet this, my jet that, he’s just pretending. I have list of every plane with the name of the owner, and he’s not on it.”
The video released last week on diddy.com showed Combs, baseball hat backward and filming himself, walking through a terminal and onto what he said was an American Airlines flight.
“Gas prices are too m@#$(&f(&$# expensive,” he says. “As you know, I do all my own jet … and (flying from New York to Los Angeles twice a month) it’s $250,000.”
Later in the video, Diddy says: “I want to give a shout out to my Saudi Arabian brothers and sisters … Please send me some oil for my jet.”
The private aviation spy said Diddy’s math is off. Flying back and forth to the Left Coast twice would set him back $100,000, even with the high price of fuel.
“Believe me,” said the spy, “the truly rich aren’t affected by oil when it comes to private planes. Monthly payments on a $20 million-plane and crews, that’s expensive.”
And indeed, the likes of rockers Bruce Springsteen and Jon Bon Jovi, songbird Christina Aguilera and comic Jerry Seinfeld, all owners of 25 percent of various aircrafts, have yet to complain.
Diddy’s publicist in New York had no comment and is reaching out to the rapper. Stay tuned for more!
Though she is actually a R&B singer/model, Cassie is definitely one of Hip Hop’s most popular beauties.Constantly in gossip blogs and magazines for her purported relationship with P.Diddy, both still claim a trip to the alter is not in the works. With a new album on the way and a modeling contract with Sean John for women we hope to see a lot more of this ‘Official Girl’. With a helping hand from mentor and producer Ryan Leslie she might just be on her way.
LA Times reporter Chuck Phillips who set a new firestorm of press with his recent article about the shooting Tupac Shakur at Quad Studios. The article stated that associates of Sean “Puffy” Combs organized the ambush on Tupac and that he and Biggie Smalls knew of its occurence a week prior. Chuck has given a new interview which he feels that these murders of Biggie Smalls and Tupac Shakur would be solved if it were “Brad Pitt or Angelina Jolie”. Click here for interview
In what seems to be the hot topic in the blogsphere, LA Times writer Chuck Phillips claims to have unearthed evidence that Puffy and Biggie knew about the hit on Tupac Shakur in Quad Studios, that left him shot five times. He says that this was all orchestrated by Czar entertainment CEO Jimmy Rosemond.
Brooklyn rapper Gravy has snagged the role of Christopher Wallace aka Notorious B.I.G. The rapper is due to star with Angela Basset who plays his mother. I must say Fendi and Gravy predicted this a very long time ago in one of their popular The ComeUp DVD’s. I filmed Gravy years ago and was supposed to work with Fendi. Things never materialized but I can do nothing but wish them well.
Diddy is featured in the current issue of Time , where he answers 10 Questions from readers. Some of the Q & As are pretty insightful. Take a look, you might learn something:
What factor makes a record a sure hit?
Melody. When you hear a Beatles’ melody or Marvin Gaye, it changes everything around you. You ever see those commercials where somebody’s someplace and then the whole room changes? Melody does that.
Damn to think we almost missed this one. While we were immersed in US politics the small Central American island of Belize was making a significant contribution to Hip Hop History. You see amidst political scandal the incumbent leader lost his seat toDean Barrow, the father of incarcerated rapper Jamal Barrow akaShyne-Po, making him the first “black” prime minister of the country. Shyne is currently finishing up a 10 year bid for weapons and assault charges stemming from the infamous Club New York shooting that many feel turned Shyne into a patsy for Puff Daddy, yeah I saidPuff Daddy!
