Hometeam, you got to know you have to fall back til this man is out of office until he holla’s. Sh*t not even Micheal Eric Dyson can get an invite and he ain’t did sh*t (lol). Dr. Rev, you have got to be kidding. Rahm Emmanuel will not let you “NO” where in distance of the Big House, this you got to know maaaan! I mean, shoot him a tweet or something, like the rest of us.
President-elect Barack Obama made a “bad decision” by distancing himself from the Rev. Jeremiah Wright and his church, Wright said Sunday – but that’s OK.
“He’s still my child,” Wright said in a sermon in which he expressed pride in Obama’s longtime association with Trinity United Church of Christ.
His talk was spiced with his trademark blend of history lesson, mimicry, singing, and – depending on your point of view – insults, or telling it like it is. One object of contempt seemed to be Elisabeth Hasselbeck of ABC’s “The View,” whom – while not saying her name – Wright twice referred to as a “broad,” including once as “that dumb broad.” Hasselbeck has criticized Wright on “The View.” Continue reading →
I guess alot of you out there thought we heard the last from Rev. Pfleger. Well he is back and before this election is over we will be hearing plenty more from him and Rev. Wright, whether they speak out themselves or the Republicans drudge up those youtube clips we have seen a million times. He is off suspension and was welcomed back by his congregation:
As the Democratic primary nears its end and it becomes painstakingly clear that Senator Barack Obama will become the first “Black” Democratic nominee for President of the US there are more questions about what “type” of candidate Obama will become in the General Election than there are answers. The fact that this country will be split along racial lines is pretty much a given at this point but come October when Obama is looking back at some of the integral decisions he was forced to make at this pivotal point in the election will he also be seeing that factions of the “Black” community have also abandoned him as he attempts to move to the center of his political party? I hope he finds a comfort spot and isn’t pushed too far to the right as to where he loses his footing and falls off the ledge. Dr. Boyce Watkins builds on this delicate balancing act Barack will have to perform.
I guess Rev. Pfleger was the last straw that broke the camels back
(AP) – Barack Obama said Saturday he has resigned his 20-year membership in the Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago “with some sadness” in the aftermath of inflammatory remarks by his longtime pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, and more recent fiery remarks at the church by a visiting priest.
“This is not a decision I come to lightly … and it is one I make with some sadness,” Obama said at a news conference after campaign officials released a letter of resignation he sent to the church on Friday.
“I’m not denouncing the church and I’m not interested in people who want me to denounce the church,” he said, adding that the new pastor at Trinity and “the church have been suffering from the attention my campaign has focused on them.” Continue reading →
Now, America suppose to be a shining beacon of “Separation of Church & State” but as we can see via the 2008 Presidential Nomination the Church will have just as much say and sway on their constituents than any other party of influence. Someone once told me that politicians were puppets for the reigning priesthood. I am seeing how that ideology lines up. This clip is of Catholic priest Jim Lisante going in on Sen. Obama and Rev. Wright at a GOP dinner. The priesthood has no place in politics. Just like a national conversation needs to had about race in America at some points Christians need to get all their ducks in order because obviously the different denominations believe they must be praying to different “gods.”
What do we have here? In this clip you will see McCain supporter Pastor John Hagee spewing off religous rhetoric, condeming and calling the Catholic Church the “Great Whore.”
By the look of the media spectacle that took place last month covering Pope Benedict, this is surprising considering the overwhelming positive coverage he received from across the board, complete with people kissing his ring.(note: author is non-catholic)
Since the unrelenting hack job on Reverend Wright and his stance that there are two radically different America’s we live in, we have yet to see equal coverage given to Pastor Hagee.
Will an equally controversial “white” pastor will be held to the same standards and villified in the media for controversial remarks they way Rev. Jeremiah Wright is everyday on cable news ?
Will Sen. McCain denounce and reject his pastor for his hate-filled sermons aimed at Jews & Catholics, two of the most influential voting blocks in this country? I sincerely doubt it.
The more things change the more they remain the same, so it seems. This is our attempt to redeem the brother MLK from the controlled sound bites that the media attributes to him. He had more fire in him than the “I Have A Dream” speech, here is one of his most resounding speeches when he put his heart on the line and spoke truth about these two America’s we still live in.
In a day were they still condemn the preacher man (Rev Wright) when he isn’t speaking from the script, I wonder how much do we really know about this man named KING. Now just replace VIETNAM with IRAQ and you gain this eerie feeling that things have not changed ,when it comes to this government. Compare this man’s angst to Reverend Jermiah Wright and you’ll see they are fighting the same fight.
Boy the truth must really hurt. Now that Obama has sprayed the Black Flag and aired out America’s dirty little secret, critters are popping up all over the place voicing their displeasure with being called out. I saw this over at Davey D’s blog and as he noted this is the same Pat Buchanan who is employed by numerous news outlets when he clearly has a biased opinion about the reality of a viable “black” candidate on the path to victory. The kitchen sink, kitchenette, cabinets and fridge have now officially been hurled at Mr. Obama. What will they think of next…
Brief for Whitey
by Pat Buchanan
How would he pull it off? I wondered.
How would Barack explain to his press groupies why he sat silent in a pew for 20 years as the Rev. Jeremiah Wright delivered racist rants against white America for our maligning of Fidel and Gadhafi, and inventing AIDS to infect and kill black people?
How would he justify not walking out as Wright spewed his venom about “the U.S. of K.K.K.
America,” and howled, “God damn America!”
Dayum, I ran into this clip over at Playahata.com while doing some research of Rev. Wright. Min. Louis Farrakhan tore CBS’ Mike Wallace a new one in regards to America’s “holier than thou” position it likes to take on when talking about “foriegn” aggressors. Classic. During a time when debate is so unbalanced on network TV you are almost begging for one of these stations to get Farrakhan and Rev. Wright in the same room with Bill O’ Reilly and Sean Hannity. Pay per view anyone?
Dayum, I had no idea that the attacks from Fox News on Obama were so viscous. Then I got this video that shows them going in way worse than Rev. Wright. They was comparing him to Hitler, simply because he has an oratory flair (way with words). They also show how all of these clowns in media march to the same beat. Tim Russert takes his marching orders from the right wing fanatics over at Fox so it seems. Judge for yourself…
Editors Note: I’m loving how “beefs” are being fought via YouTube these days. The viral campaign is the way to go if you wanna slay your foe, first its 50 & Fat Joe, now we see even Moveon.org is uploading in their campaign against Fox News.
This is the part of the sermon in its entirety, which caused the firestorm from the media concerning Pastor. Wright and his association with Barack Obama. The media took bits of his sermon and used them to say Pastor. Wright was preaching racism. The media did not state in what context that he stated that “chickens were coming home to roost”. He actually was speaking on an ambassador he watched on Fox News who was discussing the heinous and illegal wars conducted by our government. Just another indication how biased and racist the media is and how they manipulate people in this country for their own agenda. View the speech in context after the jump
