Remember when Rick Ross (who is under indictment for assault and kidnapping) had those problems a few years back with the Gangsta Disciples aka the Gd’s?

Screen Shot 2016-05-05 at 11.22.30 AMIn a nutshell the start probably occurred when Ross famously penned the lines “I think I’m a Big Meech, Larry Hoover..” and using the Gangster Disciples gang symbol for one of his mixtapes. They were not enthused.

The indictment also says that in November 2012 the gang threatened a rapper, identified only by the initials “R.R.,” with violence unless he paid them for using the gang’s name and symbols.

Prosecutors declined to identify the artist, but rapper Rick Ross has mentioned the gang in lyrics. Ross canceled shows around the time the threats were made, but he told WEDR radio in Miami in December 2012: “I canceled the rest of the tour due to a promoter, because he wasn’t really handling his business. … Never was it due to any threats.”

Ross’ publicist didn’t immediately respond to an email Wednesday.

ATLANTA — Among the four dozen alleged Gangster Disciples members charged in indictments unsealed Wednesday, one sticks out: An Atlanta-area police officer who prosecutors say claimed to be a hit man for the violent gang and tipped off other members about police activity.

What started out as a music of rebellion has been turned into the ultimate weapon for the government according to former drug trafficker Freeway Rick Ross who along with the C.I.A conspired to put tons of cocaine and crack into poor black urban neighborhoods.

That headline is a bit misleading. It is actually the story of Gary Webb who discovered how the C.I.A was implicit in the drug trade and using the likes of the real Rick Ross to funnel massive amounts of drugs into the country and using the profits to fund various wars.

Two-time Academy Award nominee Jeremy Renner (“The Bourne Legacy”) leads an all-star cast in a dramatic thriller based on the remarkable true story of Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Gary Webb. Webb stumbles onto a story which leads to allegations that the CIA was aware of major dealers who were smuggling cocaine into the U.S., and using the profits to arm rebels fighting in Nicaragua. Webb keeps digging to uncover a conspiracy with explosive implications — and draws the kind of attention that threatens not just his career, but his family and his life.

According to an unnamed Mercedes-Benz source speaking with AutoWeek, the German automaker is killing off its Maybach line in 2013.

The unsurprising news comes after the brand was resurrected in 2002, but failed to meet sales expectations with its two core models, the Maybach 57 and 62. Further solidifying its fate, a deal with Aston Martin to aid in the development of future Maybachs fell through earlier this year.
