SILLY THING Toys has been the talk of the industry since its establishment. Following their Bounty Hunter and The Beatles interpretations, SILLY THING Toys gets set to yet again launch a triumphant collaboration, this time with Marvel Studios and Hong Kong-based Hot Toys. Marking the very first time that they have authorized an original customized version of its characters, Marvel allows SILLY THING founder TK to work up a special colorway, utilizing the 1/6 Mark III as his base. One of the figures highlights includes the use of rare “battle-damaged” paint, which called for a figure re-creation considering the paint would not adhere to the original plastic surface of the Mark III platform. A release is scheduled for July 4th, 2009 via THINK SILLY Hong Kong.

[pic] Rourke’s ready to rumble as Iron Man villain

This definitely caught me off guard, but Mickey will probably bring some serious kick-ass to the most anticipated flick of 2010. Was the Wrestler any good?

LOS ANGELES (AP) – Mickey Rourke’s bruising opponents in “The Wrestler” don’t look so tough compared to his new foe: Robert Downey Jr.‘s Iron Man.

Distributor Paramount has released the first photo of Rourke as villain Whiplash in the upcoming sequel, “Iron Man 2.”

Rourke is dressed for battle in the image, his torso and arms wrapped in metal braces sporting weapons and a chest device resembling the portable power plant that runs Downey’s Iron Man suit.

While Downey is completely encased in his metal suit, Rourke’s Whiplash outfit shows off a lot of flesh, along with plenty of tattoos coating the character’s skin.

Directed by Jon Favreau, “Iron Man 2” kicks off Hollywood’s 2010 summer season next May 7.

After the Wolverine debacle a couple of days ago, which I secretly think was done on purpose to stir up some controversy, lo and behold these pics leak from the set of the most anticipated sequel since The Dark Knight(Transformers aside).

With Terrance Howard out and Don Cheadle in, our collective mouths can now water a year ahead of the release date and the now customary practice of the promotion of a movie starting before it is even completed. The guys over at Latino Review scooped the scoop for your viewing pleasure:

Shooting has begun on Iron Man 2, and besides the brief updates from Jon Favreau on Twitter, it didn’t take long for pictures to pop up on the second day of shooting.

Spoiler TV has some shots of Robert Downey Jr. carrying his little box (I guess he keeps his vitamins, cigarettes and other stuff in there), along with shots of Gwyneth Paltrow sitting in a car and Don Cheadle trying to show off his Blackberry.

I like how the trailer says Tony Stark and doesn’t say Robert Downey Jr. I think Robert should just legally change his name to Tony Stark since most will now associate his career with Iron Man instead of past efforts like the fantastic Chaplin.

Terrance Howard out, Don Cheadle joins ‘Iron Man 2’…

I wonder how much Terrance wanted, that would make them go in a new direction so quickly. he probably thought that he had more leverage. It must hurt that he will not be in the sequel which will be even bigger than the first. He needs to fire he agent immediately.

Don Cheadle is stepping in to replace Terrence Howard in “Iron Man 2,” Marvel Studios’ sequel to its summer blockbuster.

In the movie, Howard played Jim Rhodes, Tony Stark/Iron Man’s best friend and future armor-clad hero War Machine. One scene featured Howard looking at a silver suit of armor and saying “Next time,” a line that caused great delight for fans.

But there will be no next time for Howard.

We finally get to see the much talked about scene in Iron man featuring Ghost face Killah, who was instrumental in keeping the franchise alive when it basically dead. He deserves a part in Iron Man 2 and this time make sure he does not hit the cutting room floor. The dvd is dropping soon.

Robert Downey Speaks on His Controversial Role in ‘Black Face’

via Yahoo

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – When Robert Downey Jr. put on dark make-up for film comedy “Tropic Thunder,” the actor ventured into the racially charged territory of blackface, an old showbiz convention that is no laughing matter.

Downey said he initially worried that his portrayal of a white actor playing a black man could hurt his career, and he bristled at being given what he thought would be the most controversial role in the film directed by Ben Stiller. Continue reading

[video] Tony Starks’ Cameo In Incredible Hulk

The guys over at Marvel are geniuses for integrating their brands (cross-branding) in multiple films. This is a quick glimpse of Robert Downey Jr. playing Tony Starks in the upcoming Incredible Hulk blockbuster. They couldn’t have planned a better set-up! Now, who would’ve ever thought Robert Downey would be a runaway super-hero/action-hero?

Iron Man is Marvel-ous At Box Office…

\"Iron Man\" was pure gold at the box office. The Marvel Comics adaptation, starring Robert Downey Jr. as the guy in the metal suit, hauled in $100.7 million during its opening weekend and $104.2 million since debuting Thursday night, the second-best premiere ever for a nonsequel, according to studio estimates Sunday.

Iron Man is definetly a mega huge hit for Marvel Entertainment which self financed the film and gears up to bring a sequel in two to three years. But first they are basking in the glow of having a film which grossed 100 million dollars this weekend. Read more below:

Los Angeles: AP
We could not have hoped for a better way for Marvel Studios to blast off,” said David Maisel, chairman of the unit, a division of Marvel Entertainment, which stands to pull in a greater share of box office receipts and merchandising money by financing movies itself.

Robert Downey Jr. Plays Black Man in Stiller Film

Robert Downey Jr, who is set to play Iron Man this summer, has caused a bunch of controversey not related to the soon to be blockbuster comic book flick. Robert who has keep his drug demons at bay for the last few years, has decided along with the blessing of Ben Stiller to portray a black man in the film Tropic Thunder.

The film is causing debate on all sides of the politically correct racial lines we are now threading(especially with a great black senator ahead in the race for democratic presidential nominee).

In the this pic, I myself was fooled into believing this was an actual brother.Though the film will not be released until August we will see if public ridicule will let this film see the light of day.
