Corey Hawkins and Jason Mitchell  who played Dr. Dre and Eazy-E respectively,in the smash hit Straight Outta Compton star alongside  Samuel L. Jackson in yet another reboot of King Kong. Coming from the producers of Godzilla, most people in the Youtube comments believe this is the set up movie for King Kong vs. Godzilla. Guess we will have to see if this is any good first.

Wu Tang Preps Afro Samurai Soundtrack, Tour Dates

Wu Music Group and the RZA are readying the release of Afro Samurai: The Resurrection. This is the soundtrack to the second season of Afro Samurai, the animated show on Spike TV. The show is home to Samuel L. Jackson, who is the voice of the star character and music for the program is entirely composed by RZA.The soundtrack, which will be released in conjunction with the DVD for the series, boasts an impressive roster of guests. Sly Stone, Kool G Rap, Rah Digga, and Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s son Boy Jones all make appearances.
RZA’s acting will once again be on display very soon. The rapper, who has been in films such as American Gangster, will be working on a major motion picture with Judd Apatow, who is responsible for big screen hits like Superbad and The 40 Year Old Virgin.

The film, which also stars Adam Sandler, Seth Rogen and Leslie Mann, is titled Funny People. It is said to be about a star comedian’s near death experience and fans can expect for the flick to hit screens in the Summer of 2009.

We’ve been provided with the teaser poster for “Soul Men” starring the late king of comedy Bernie Mac, Samuel L. Jackson, Sean Hayes, Jennifer Coolidge, and soul legend Isaac Hayes.

The film is due out November 7th 2008.

Two former backup soul singers Louis (Samuel L. Jackson) and Floyd (Bernie Mac) travel cross country to perform at a tribute concert in honor of their famous former band leader. They haven’t spoken to each other in 20 years but reluctantly agree to travel together for the tribute performance. Both Jackson and Mac will do their own musical and dance performing in the film.

Glover Gets Behind Katrina Survivors Documentary

Danny Glover, busy these days with filming a movie about Haitian revolution leader Toussaint Louverture with funding from controversial Venezeulan president Hugo Chavez, is also working on a documentary film from a couple from New Orleans.The film chronicles their survival of Hurricane Katrina. Cindy Adams reports:
