Second teaser that the internet is about to go batshit crazy for the next few days. My only question is where the hell is Billy Dee Williams?

[video] Red Tails (Lucasfilm Official Trailer)

This trailer has sparked alot of negative comments on Youtube and goes to show you even with a black president we have a very long way to go with racism.

1944. World War II rages and the fate of the free world hangs in the balance. Meanwhile the black pilots of the experimental Tuskegee training program are courageously waging two wars at once — one against enemies overseas, and the other against discrimination within the military and back home. Racial prejudices have long held ace airman Martin “Easy” Julian (Nate Parker) and his black pilots back at base — leaving them with little to do but further hone their flying skills — while their white counterparts are shipped out to combat after a mere three months of training. Mistakenly deemed inferior and assigned only second-rate planes and missions, the pilots of Tuskegee have mastered the skies with ease but have not been granted the opportunity to truly spread their wings. Until now.

Challenges loom as Obama seeks space weapons ban

via Reuters

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – President Barack Obama‘s pledge to seek a worldwide ban on weapons in space marks a dramatic shift in U.S. policy while posing the tricky issue of defining whether a satellite can be a weapon.star_defence_system

Moments after Obama’s inauguration last week, the White House website was updated to include policy statements on a range of issues, including a pledge to restore U.S. leadership on space issues and seek a worldwide ban on weapons that interfere with military and commercial satellites.

It also promised to look at threats to U.S. satellites, contingency plans to keep information flowing from them, and what steps are needed to protect spacecraft against attack.

The issue is being closely watched by Lockheed Martin Corp, Boeing Co, Northrop Grumman Corp, the biggest U.S. defense contractors, and other companies involved in military and civilian space contracts.

Watchdog groups and even some defense officials welcomed the statement, which echoed Obama’s campaign promises, but said it would take time to hammer out a comprehensive new strategy. Continue reading

Marc Ecko Release Storm Trooper Hoodie

I think there maybe a cult of Star Wars fanatics that might make this a hot item.

via Gizmodo

By Mark Ecko, this Stormtrooper hoodie will ensure that, at a moment’s notice, you will be ready for an impromptu Star Wars convention or back alley role-playing fest. It may sound like overkill, but to the die-hard Star Wars fan, it’s a whole lot easier than carrying around plastic armor everywhere you go. $98 through Ecko’s site, there’s a pretty great Boba Fett version as well but it’s lacking the ever-important, identity-protecting mask. How Much Would You Pay to Stay In The Death Star?

Source: Engadget

Architects in the tiny Asian (Eurasia) country of Azerbaijan are dreaming up some concepts that will have the Star Wars fanatic frequent visitors.  One of their concept hotels strangely resembles the Death Star from the Star Wars series.  There is no word yet as to whether or not they will be going into full production with the “Full Moon Bay” but the composites sure are pretty!

Animated Star Wars Headed to Movies and TV

George Lucas is convinced he has more Star Wars treats in his bag and he has decided to illustrate his stories and use the Time Warner machine to distribute his foray into animation.  Warner Bros. will be releasing “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” in theaters August 15 and trickle down to cable TV.  Time Warner networks TNT and Cartoon Network will be running the spinoff series.  The time period between “Attack of the Clone” and “Revenge of the Sith” will be the focus of the cartoon and guest appearances can be expected by Anakin Skywalker, Padme Amidala, Obi-Wan Kenobi, General Grievous.  New character developments like Ahsoka, Annakin’s padawan who bears a striking resemblance to an Egyptian, will also be introduced.  Although initially geared towards a younger audience the developers are counting on die hard Star Wars fans to tune in and follow the storyline.

“An animated series always appeals more to a younger audience,” said director Dave Filoni. “But at the same time, we’ve tried to do some sophisticated things and ensure that we are going to satisfy the broad spectrum of ‘Star Wars’ fans.”
