After Duston Holloway from Emory, Texas, walked in to his bedroom and found his girlfriend passed out drunk next to a random guy, he opted to keep his sense of humor about the unfortunate situation.

Instead of flipping out, he starting snapping photos of them in bed, and he even posed for a selfie in front of the them, later sharing the images on Facebook.

Cop Goes PSYCHO Pulls Out Gun at Teen Pool Party

Props to that kid who stood up to that officer and put his life on the line for that young lady who was being brutalized.

A McKinney, Texas police officer was put on “administrative leave” after a video posted online showed him wrestling a teen girl to the ground and pulling his gun on another teen during a pool party. The unnamed officer is seen shouting obscenities, pulling the 15-year-old Dajerria Becton’s hair as he wrestles her to the ground. Becton said she hopes the officer will be punished. “He grabbed me, twisted my arm on my back and shoved me in the grass and started pulling the back of my braids. I was telling him to get off me because my back was hurting bad.” Officers were responding to the call of a private security guard and residents who complained that several teenagers did not have permission to use the residential community pool and had refused to leave. via Daily Beast 

 

Is the ‘NRA’ supporting the ‘Huey P. Newton Gun Club’?

NRA are mighty quiet when it comes to black people obtaining and carrying guns legally.

“A Texas gun club named after one of the founders of the Black Panthers Party marched in Dallas on Wednesday to protest against police brutality, KTXA-TV reported.

Around two dozen members of the Huey P. Newton Gun Club carried rifles and red, black and green flags as they marched through the city’s south side, sometimes chanting in support of Michael Brown, the 18-year-old man killed by a police officer in Ferguson, Missouri, on Aug. 9.

“If they don’t get these killer cops and corrupt cops under control,” a member identifying himself as Commander Drew X was quoted as saying. “What happened in Ferguson is going to be nationwide.”

Deer Park police say the shopper was issued a criminal trespass notice, saying if she returns to that Walmart location she’ll be arrested.

The employee did not press charges.

(CNN) — As the sun rose Thursday over West, Texas, the scope of the small town’s devastation came into fuller view: a gruesome, bloody scene, homes flattened to rubble, and scores of firefighters battling a raging blaze.
The massive, deadly blast at a fertilizer plant Wednesday night forced the evacuation of about half the town of about 2,800 people and left officials asking key questions: Was it a crime or an accident? How could it have happened?
“Nothing at this point indicates we have had criminal activity, but we are not ruling that out,” said Sgt. William Patrick Swanton of the nearby Waco Police Department.

Texas Governor Backs Resolution Affirming Soveriegnty

AUSTIN – Gov. Rick Perry today joined state Rep. Brandon Creighton and sponsors of House Concurrent Resolution (HCR) 50 in support of states’ rights under the 10th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

“I believe that our federal government has become oppressive in its size, its intrusion into the lives of our citizens, and its interference with the affairs of our state,” Gov. Perry said. “That is why I am here today to express my unwavering support for efforts all across our country to reaffirm the states’ rights affirmed by the Tenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. I believe that returning to the letter and spirit of the U.S. Constitution and its essential 10th Amendment will free our state from undue regulations, and ultimately strengthen our Union.”

A number of recent federal proposals are not within the scope of the federal government’s constitutionally designated powers and impede the states’ right to govern themselves. HCR 50 affirms that Texas claims sovereignty under the 10th Amendment over all powers not otherwise granted to the federal government.

Ex-Detroit Mayor Gets New Gig in Texas

It’s been a little over a week since former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick was released from jail after serving 99 days for perjury, but he might have already landed a new gig.

A Texas affiliate of Compuware Corp., a Detroit-based company, is set to name Kilpatrick to a new post soon, reports The Detroit Free Press.

The announcement might have been in the works for months, though. According to Oakland County Executive, L. Brooks Patterson, back in October, Compuware Chairman Peter Karmanos told him he was going to make the job offer to Kilpatrick.

“I haven’t heard any details about what the job is. But I walked away from the conversations admiring Peter’s loyalty,” Patterson told the paper. “It wasn’t my place to question his decision.” While Kilpatrick’s specific duties were not revealed, it is clear that he will not have any contact with customers in Michigan.

Kilpatrick and his family moved to the wealthy, upper-class community of Southlake, Texas, where they are currently renting a 2,800-square-foot home. Kilpatrick resigned from office last year after the widely publicized “sex text” scandal revealed that he misled the Wayne County court about his extramarital affair with his then-Chief of Staff Christine Beatty.

He pled guilty to perjury and was sent to jail, and now faces five years’ of probation.

Texas Death Row Inmate pulls out eye, eats it

HOUSTON — A Texas death row inmate with a history of mental problems pulled out his only good eye and told authorities he ate it.

Andre Thomas, 25, was arrested for the fatal stabbings of his estranged wife, their young son and her 13-month-old daughter in March 2004. Their hearts also had been ripped out. He was convicted and condemned for the infant’s death.

While in the Grayson County Jail in Sherman, Thomas plucked out his right eye before his trial later in 2004. A judge subsequently ruled he was competent to stand trial.

A death-row officer at the Polunsky Unit of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice found Thomas in his cell with blood on his face and took him to the infirmary.

“”Thomas said he pulled out his eye and subsequently ingested it,” agency spokesman Jason Clark said Friday.

Thomas was treated at East Texas Medical Center in Tyler after the Dec. 9 incident. Then he was transferred and remains at the Jester Unit, a prison psychiatric facility near Richmond southwest of Houston.

“He will finally be able to receive the mental health care that we had wanted and begged for from day 1,” Bobbie Peterson-Cate, Thomas’ trial attorney, told the Sherman Herald Democrat. “He is insane and mentally ill. It is exactly the same reason he pulled out the last one.”

At his trial, defense lawyers also argued he suffered from alcohol and drug abuse.

(CNN) — Robbie Tolan sits in a Houston, Texas, hospital bed with a bullet from a police officer’s gun lodged in his liver. The son of a famed baseball player was shot in his own driveway.

But how this unarmed 23-year-old and his cousin ended up in the cross-hairs of an officer’s gun, suspected of stealing a car, is a question sparking allegations of racial profiling.

“There’s no doubt in my mind that if these had been white kids this does not happen,” said David Berg, Tolan’s attorney.

It was 2 a.m. on December 31 when Tolan and his cousin, Anthony Cooper, were confronted in the driveway of their home by Bellaire, Texas, police officers. Police officials say the officers suspected the two young men were driving a stolen car.

Bellaire is a prominent, mostly white suburb in southwest Houston.

Robbie Tolan is the son of a once-prominent professional baseball player. His father, Bobby Tolan, had a 15-year career for the St. Louis Cardinals and Cincinnati Reds, spanning 1965 to 1979. He played on one of the most-heralded Cardinal teams ever: the 1967 World Series champs.

The younger Tolan is just starting to develop his own baseball career. He’s played in the Washington Nationals minor league system and spent part of last season playing for the Bay Area Toros of the Continental Baseball League.

Tolan’s relatives say the two young men had just arrived from a late-night run to a Jack-in-the-Box fast food restaurant.

NSA’s Super Spy Center May Be Preparing To Monitor The World

At an old Sony factory in San Antonio, the National Security Agency is making plans for a huge data-mining facility, the Texas Cryptology Center. The 470,000 square foot center will allow the NSA to identify potential terrorists from intercepted phone calls and emails.

For civil libertarians, the frightening aspect of the facility is its size and room for growth.

“No longer able to store all the intercepted phone calls and e-mail in its secret city, the agency has now built a new data warehouse in San Antonio, Texas,” writes author James Bamford in the Shadow Factory, his third book about the NSA. “Costing, with renovations, upwards of $130 million, the 470,000-square-foot facility will be almost the size of the Alamodome. Considering how much data can now be squeezed onto a small flash drive, the new NSA building may eventually be able to hold all the information in the world.”

Inmates Take 2 Hostages after Riot at Texas Prison

PECOS, Texas (AP) — Inmates at a privately run prison in West Texas took two hostages after starting a riot and setting at least one fire Friday, authorities said.

One of the hostages was released late Friday. Both prison employees are recreation specialists at the Reeves County Detention Center.

The inmates include immigration detainees. They were asking for better medical treatment, Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper John Barton told the Pecos Enterprise Friday night.

Barton said the riot started after noon, when the body of an inmate who died of natural causes was removed from the prison.

More than a thousand prisoners were milling about in the yard and smoke from a fire set during the disturbance still flowed from the recreation building, the newspaper reported.

A hostage negotiator was talking to the inmates, Reeves County Sheriff’s spokesman Michael Estorga told the Odessa American.

An up-and-coming emcee from Texas has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for killing his competitor in a rap battle.

According to the Fort Worth Star Telegram, Samuel Raynard Jones pleaded guilty yesterday (July 23) to fatally shooting 17 year-old Christopher Smith in September 2006. The death became the outcome of a rap face off between the two.

Baby-Face Pimps Guilty of Prostituting 12-Year Olds

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — Three teenagers accused of forcing girls as young as 12 into prostitution have reached plea agreements and been sentenced to a juvenile detention center.

The boys – two are 17 and one is 16 – will be released no later than their 19th birthdays, according to the plea agreement.

They each pleaded guilty Thursday to one count of compelling prostitution. In exchange, prosecutors dropped other charges, including human trafficking. Charges against others allegedly involved in the ring are pending in adult court.

Texas officials investigating a potential child abuse case said on Saturday 183 children and women had been removed from a ranch that is home to a breakaway Mormon sect linked to jailed polygamist leader Warren Jeffs.
Investigators were looking for a young woman whose complaint sparked the raid in the first place though Palmer said there was a chance that she might be among the scores who had been removed from the compound and had not yet been identified.

Obama Uses Tough Love to Rally Blacks in Texas

It appears that not only is Obama emerging as an inspirational speaker who is using his message of hope to spawn change across the country in general but he is using his time on the pulpit to address the ills that plaque black society specifically.  While campaigning in Texas he was highly critical of behavior patterns that have resulted in obesity in the black home and he spoke on parents being more actively involved in their children’s school life.  “Turn off the TV set, put the video game away.  Buy a little desk or put that child by the kitchen table.  Watch them do their homework.  If they don’t know how to do it, give them help.  If you don’t know how to do it, call the teacher.  Make them go to bed at a reasonable time.  Keep them off the streets.  Give ‘ em some breakfast.
