Megan Fox snatches Catwoman role in Batman 3?

Fanboys mouths are watering at this possibility of Megan in Batman 3. Here is the unofficial report:

MEGAN FOX has signed up to play Catwoman in the next Batman movie.

And I have a strong feline she is the purrfect choice for the part – and thanks to a spot of computer wizardry here’s how she might look.

Megan will need to get into practice with her talcum powder application.

Slipping into the famous PVC catsuit always looked like a tricky business to me.

And I would like to be the first person to offer my services as a wardrobe assistant, should she need one.

The Transformers stunner follows in the pawprints of MICHELLE PFEIFFER and HALLE BERRY.

But Megan, who has a slightly darker edge than her two predecessors, will be brilliant as Selina Kyle.

All the other stars who have reinvented the Batman films are back on board – CHRISTIAN BALE, MICHAEL CAINE and director CHRISTOPHER NOLAN.

Shooting starts next year but the film is not expected to be released until 2011.

Damn! He must starved himself and actually smoked crack. This is the pinnacle of method acting.

JustJared has posted some photos of Christian Bale on the set of his upcoming film The Fighter with the headline “Christian Bale Looks Crack Cocaine Addicted.” Yet once again, we see that Bale has gone all out and has changed his physical appearance and weight to reflect that of his characters Dickie Eklund.

It’s not just by chance that they are saying that it looks like he’s on crack, Eklund has battled drug addiction for decades and even made a documentary in 1995 called High on Crack Street in which he talked about his problem.

China Refuses to Release “The Dark Knight” in Chinese Cinemas

Batman blockbuster “The Dark Knight” won’t be screened in Chinese cinemas, Warner Bros. said in a statement Wednesday.

The studio said that the acclaimed film — the second highest-grossing movie in US box-office history — would be canned in China, with “cultural sensitivities” cited as one of the reasons for the no-show.

“Based on a number of pre-release conditions that are being attached to ‘The Dark Knight’ as well as cultural sensitivities to some elements of the film, we have opted to forego a theatrical release of the film in China,” a statement emailed to AFP said.

It was not clear what “cultural sensitivities” were at issue but the movie includes an action sequence shot in Hong Kong where Batman, played by Christian Bale, apprehends a Chinese money-launderer.

In 2006, Chinese authorities barred the release of Hollywood movie “Memoirs of a Geisha” amid speculation its portrayal of Japanese courtesans played by Chinese actresses could spark public controversy.

Taiwanese director Ang Lee’s gay cowboy drama “Brokeback Mountain” was also denied a release in China.

Editor’s Note: Wow, now Heath Ledger has the distinction of having both of his biggest films being banned from Chinese cinema, Brokeback and Batman.  Can’t they just let a brother live, posthumously?

The Dark Knight sells 3 MILLION DVDs On Tuesday alone !!!

The Dark Knight is breaking all sorts of records!!

The flick brought in about $530 million in movie ticket sales just in the U.S. alone. And, now, almost 3 million DVDs of the movie have already been purchased on DVD in the U.S., Canada, and Britain since its release on Tuesday.

And as many as almost 600,000 DVDs were purchased as Blu-ray DVDs.

Iron Man was only able to sell 260,000 Blu-rays on its first day of release!!

Ron Sanders, president of Warner Home Video, says, “It’s encouraging. The Blu-ray sales of ‘Dark Knight’ were exceptionally strong and much higher than our projections.”

The Dark Knight will be a big Christmas present this year.

Heath Ledger’s $26,000 apt can’t find a tenant

Now I sincerely think the $26,000 price tag is why this baby is still free. Just the notoriety of the Ledger death would make a bunch of people want to have this apartment which will probably eventually become a tourist attraction. Anyway here is the scoop:

heath-ledger-3

NY Post/Huffington Post :

THE rental listing of the SoHo apartment where Heath Ledger accidentally overdosed has been pulled without a taker willing to cough up $26,000 per month. The Post’s Braden Keil reports the three-bedroom loft at 419 Broome St., which was officially relisted in late July after Ledger died there last January, couldn’t attract a tenant – most likely because of its spooky provenance and a cooling high-end rental market. A Corcoran Group source would only say the 4,400-square-foot pad is “temporarily off the market.”

Spoiler Alert:Batman killed by his OWN dad

When will the actual movies catch up with the actual storyline in the comic? Anyway all you comic geeks here is the ultimate spoiler for the newest Batman comic.

via The Sun

picture-16

Bruce Wayne – who by night is Batman – gets murdered by a man claiming to be the father he thought was dead.

In a highly controversial new storyline Bruce, who first appeared in 1939, is killed by Simon Hurt – the leader of the shady Black Glove organisation.

Simon claims he is really Dr Thomas Wayne, saying he faked his own passing when Bruce was a child.

The superhero dies when he tries to stop his foe escaping by helicopter in the new comic Batman R.I.P.

Writer Grant Morrison said: This is so much better than death. People have killed characters in the past but to me, that kind of ends the story!

“I like to keep the story twisting and turning. So what I am doing is a fate worse than death. Things that no one would expect to happen to these guys at all.

“This is the end of Bruce Wayne as Batman.”

Batman will live on though, with another character filling his Batsuit.

Two likely contenders are Dick Grayson – the original Robin – or current Boy Wonder, Tim Drake.

Breakin’ News on Batman 3, Superman, and Green Lantern

For those comic-movie loving geeks that read our blog, this a special treat for you guys who are watering at the mouth for news on Superman, Batman, and Green Lantern. Don’t thank me, kudos goes to the crew at Latino Review.

The only thing better than living in New York, is being at a party in New York. I was out on the town this past Monday night with my partners in crime El Mayimbe and Ron Henriques at the special WATCHMEN presentation that was scheduled for a hand full of media outlets. The footage we watched to me was very good. It had its moments. I definitely believe just like SIN CITY, you will either love it or hate it. I loved the opening sequence explaining the creation and the rise of the Minutemen, which quite frankly blew me away! It was that good. And honestly while I’ve never read the book, I must say I was inspired to immediately go out and buy one just so I am up to speed.

Anyhow, the real action didn’t happen inside the screening, but rather outside of it. While mingling around with guest and watching my partner in crime sneak food into his Latin pockets, I saw the one and only Paul Levitz, the President of DC Comics.   I walked over to him and had a moment to hang out and chat with him briefly. I could not keep my mouth shut and had to ask the questions that Latino readers are asking. So I went in straight for the kill.

“So Paul, what the fuck is happening with Superman?” Well not in those words actually.  Paul looked over both shoulders like he was about to score some basura and said that things are still brewing.

The Curse of The Dark Knight Strikes Again

Damn, don’t you love a good ritual? Now, before you accuse us of going off the dead-end, please understand that this analysis is substantiated by research and all that is required is for you to do the research on your own.  Now we’ve previously reported on Christian Bale‘s denial that there was a curse that was following The Dark Knight, all this prior to him being arrested the weekend of the release of what some are calling potentially the biggest release of ALL time (Titanic is sitting lovely though with $600 million under its belt).  With a rash of beheadings being attributed to Joker symbolism (Heath Ledger brandishes the “Joker” tarot card which has the Joker brandishing a severed head), the untimely accident involving Morgan Freeman and  a renewed  interest of the circumstances surrounded the death of Heath Ledger, bloggers are running wild with speculation.  Now. much attention is being paid to what is being termed, The Curse of The Dark Knight.

`Dark Knight’ grabs $43.8M more, nears $400M total

This movie is not going anywhere. There are also a bunch of rumors about Batman 3 that really has the blogosphere buzzing, but I think they may be a bit premature. Of course Catwoman or The Riddler would be great. Trust me they will find someone to make the next installment just as exciting if that is even possible. Latest numbers below:

Why so serious?

via AOL Movies

Even an army of the undead could not dislodge Batman from his box-office perch.

The Batman blockbuster “The Dark Knight” hauled in $43.8 million to rank as Hollywood’s top movie for the third-straight weekend, fending off “The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor,” which opened a close second with $42.5 million.

“The Dark Knight” has soared to a $394.9 million haul in just 17 days, according to studio estimates Sunday. The Warner Bros. release should sail past the $400 million mark by Monday or Tuesday, said Dan Fellman, head of distribution for Warner.

That would be on the film’s 18th or 19th day of release, another record for “The Dark Knight,” which had an all-time high opening weekend of $158.4 million. The previous $400 million record-holder was “Shrek 2,” which hit that mark in 43 days.

“It’s a film that is just rewriting the record books every day and redefining our notions of what a blockbuster can be,” said Paul Dergarabedian, president of box-office tracker Media By Numbers.

“The Dark Knight” will top $500 million, predicted Fellman, who would not speculate on whether it could approach the all-time domestic revenue record of “Titanic” at $600.8 million.

The Dark Knight’s Christian Bale Arrested For Assaulting Mom & Sis

“You can die a hero while you’re young or live long enough to see yourself turn into a villian”

via MTV News

Christian Bale turned himself in to London police early Tuesday (July 22), after allegations of assault were made against him, and was released from custody several hours later. He was not charged.

The “Dark Knight” star, who was in London to promote the film, was allowed to attend the U.K. premiere at a Leicester Square theater Monday night because he made an appointment to turn himself in the following morning. The alleged incident took place on Sunday night at the actor’s hotel, the Dorchester on Park Lane, and involved Bale’s mother Jenny and his sister Sharon, who went to the police in Hampshire to make a report. “The Dark Knight” Delivers Bright Day for Hollywood; Shatters Records

via My Way News

LOS ANGELES (AP) – Batman has sent Spidey packing as king of Hollywood’s box-office superheroes.

“The Dark Knight” took in a record $155.34 million in its first weekend, topping the previous best of $151.1 million for “Spider-Man 3” in May 2007 and pacing Hollywood to its biggest weekend ever, according to studio estimates Sunday.

“We knew it would be big, but we never expected to dominate the marketplace like we did,” said Dan Fellman, head of distribution for Warner Bros., which released “The Dark Knight.” The movie should shoot past the $200 million mark by the end of the week, he said.

Hollywood set an overall revenue record of $253 million for a three-day weekend, beating the $218.4 million haul over the weekend of July 7, 2006, according to box-office tracker Media By Numbers.

“This weekend is such a juggernaut,” said Nikki Rocco, head of distribution for Universal, whose musical “Mamma Mia!” debuted at No. 2 with $27.6 million.

Factoring in higher admission prices, “Spider-Man 3” may have sold slightly more tickets than “The Dark Knight.” Continue reading
