Trick Daddy has reacted to Rick Ross’ “Valley of Death” record where the Miami “Boss” is heard referencing Trick’s battle with lupus.

Opting out of dissing Ross on a song, the rapper discussed the disease’s seriousness.

“Millions of people are stricken with lupus,” Trick said in an interview. “I have stayed out of the bullsh*t, I will continue to stay out of it. Ross had been with Slip-N-Slide Records as long as I have been with Slip-N-Slide Records. He’s known I’ve had lupus for 10 years. I was referred to my doctor by Ted Lucas who is the head of Slip-N-Slide Records. I would like to apologize to everyone suffering with lupus. I would like to apologize for the insults.” (MTV)

Ross raps that Trick is not telling the truth about his diagnosis.

“Caught a little case, buddy had a little cheddar,” Ross raps on “Valley of Death.” “Pled out to 15, poured his life in a letter/ Very first line he called Trick Daddy stupid/ Said he had AIDS telling people that it’s lupus/ Not the one just to jump to conclusions/ I’m getting money, small talk can be a nuisance.” (Rap Radar) Continue reading

This is the track where Ricky comes clean about his sketchy past as a C.O., even though he dances around directly copping to the claim. He also lines up Curtis and Trick for some shots.  I tell you one thing, unlike his foes, he can’t be accused of putting out lackluster material.  It truly is Deeper Than Rap.

As Trick Daddy prepares for the release of his upcoming autobiography, he has revealed that he is also dealing with a serious health issue. The Miami-bred rapper appeared on The Rickey Smiley Morning Show today (March 23) to promote his autobiography Magic City: Trials of a Native Son. During the interview, he made the shocking revelation that he suffers from Lupus, an incurable autoimmune disease, which makes the immune system attacks the body’s cells and tissue.

Lupus affects all major organs in the human body, including the heart, kidneys and nervous system. “I went to the doctor like 12 years ago. He took all kinds of tests, because I was trying to get rid of what we call dry skin, she did biopsies and blood tests and swab tests. She told me I have lupus. I am allergic highly to the sun, that’s my worst enemy. It’s like an AK-47 with a double clip on it. I could jeopardize kidney and liver failure from the treatment and the medication.” The disease, which affects African-American and Hispanics in disproportionate numbers, particularly women. The disease has already taken the life of prominent Hip-Hop producer James “J. Dilla” Yancey.

Miami rapper Trick Daddy has inked a deal with MTV/Pocket Books for the release of his autobiography, Magic City: Trials of a Native Son.

Assisting Trick with the book is journalist and former Miami Herald staff writer Peter Bailey.

The book will reveal the rapper’s early life; from being the son of a pimp to having a drug-dealing brother who was murdered, Magic City will delve into Trick Daddy‘s life story.

Of course, it will also chronicle his rise to international fame, as well as a career spanning seven albums over a period of 13 years.

Recently, Trick Daddy was the subject of much speculation, as many thought the rapper leaked pictures of Rick Ross as a correctional officer [click to read]. Trick Daddy denied the claims.

[video] Rick Ross Responds to Rumors

Things are looking kind of shady in The Sunshine State. Relations continue to sour between two Miami legends. Earlier this week a photograph surfaced of Rick Ross adorning a C.O. uniform, giving credibility to a rumor that has circulating about him for a minute that he was once po-po. To add fuel to fire one of his main adversaries, Trick Daddy Dollars chimed in and said that he was indeed a C.O. in his past. Now, I’ve heard the rumors for awhile about Ross and the flick even confirmed my suspicions but it didn’t change my belief that homie can flow his ass off and I can bear witness to his grind ethic; he’s been trying to get on for years!

But when the Big Homie denied it was him and blamed internet hackers (those damn 4Chan pranksters!), well that wasn’t a good look because it shows a pattern of lying in the face of truth. Now he’s throwing shot’s at Trick, reminiscent of the shots Trick threw at Plies. Lets hope this remains a war of words because them dudes duke it out with choppers down there and we don’t need none of that in Hip Hop especially on the Southern scene. They were able to separate from the pack because they exemplified unity. If they lose that glue they are destined for failure like other regions who can’t pull it together and realize strength is in numbers.
