[video] Legal Aid organization under fire for Uncle Murda & Maino “Hands Up” (Eric Garner Tribute) video

Somebody is gonna take the fall for this in a big way. Glad this video is getting some media attention now. Where are all the free speech advocates rushing to defend them?

A city-funded legal aid organization knowingly participated in a music video where artists rapped that it was “time to start k!lling these coppers” and pointed guns at a man dressed as an NYPD officer, the city’s Department of Investigation has found.
The Bronx Defenders, a criminal defense firm that receives about $20 million every year in public funding, let rappers Uncle Murda and Maino shoot portions of their “Hands Up” music video in their offices near Yankee Stadium and then tried to cover up its involvement, according to a DOI report.

Uncle Murda Convicted of Identity Fraud at JFK

via LA Times

New York rapper Leonard Grant, artistically known as Uncle Murda, has been convicted of attempting to use a fraudulent California identification card at Los Angeles International Airport, the L.A. city attorney’s office said today.

“It was a legitimate ID. But it was the ID of another individual,” said Frank Mateljan, a spokesman for the city attorney’s office. “He was trying to pass it off as his own. His motivation for doing so is unknown.”

Grant, 27, pleaded “no contest” to one count of possession of a counterfeit ID, according to a statement from City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo’s office. “Commissioner Mark Zuckman sentenced Grant to 18 months probation and ordered him to perform 50 hours of community service,” the statement said.

The case against Grant stems from a May 2008 incident when a screener at LAX examined an ID card presented by Grant and determined it was fraudulent, the city attorney’s office said. When police investigated, they found that although the ID bore a photograph of Grant, the number belonged to another person. Police confiscated and destroyed the ID card, officials said.

Grant, who was reportedly grazed by a bullet as he sat in a parked car in Brooklyn in January 2008, is prohibited from possessing another individual’s identity information without permission for the length of his probation. The case against Grant was part of the city attorney’s LAX Security Enhancement Initiative that was launched in March 2007, officials said.

Uncle Murda Spotlights Killings W/ New Website, Knocks “Murda” Off His Name

via SOHH

Former Roc-A-Fella artist Uncle Murda has announced a new rap alias along with the launch of a new murder-based website that will shine a light on real murders around the world.

The Brooklyn, New York-bred emcee is reportedly making his name more retailer-friendly.

“When it’s time to get that money, it’s definitely, Uncle M,” Murda said in an interview. “We not gonna let nothing stop the money. You see, the ‘m’ is for the money, Murda, menage a trois, marijuana, whatever you want. You know, the ‘m’ covers everything.” (True Stories Radio)

Uncle M also kicked off a new website that shines light on real killings.

“Right now, I’m on my computer sh*t, this is firstdegreemurda.com,” Murda said via his web page. “The reason why I set this sh*t up is so you can see all the murders taking place across the world, not just New York — you can also see a lot of the sh*t that the police be doing, like they be doing a lot of bullsh*t, if you go check up on my site, you got ex-police, ex-officers raping girls, beating up people in wheel chairs, all types of sh*t.” (First Degree Murda)

Murda recently confirmed his departure from Def Jam/Roc-A-Fella Records earlier this month.

“There’s just so much bullsh*t with the labels. I’m no longer with Def Jam. I’m a free agent and I’m still hot,” Murda said in an interview. “Things ain’t work out over there. Once Jay-Z left, you know, they ain’t really know what to do with Uncle Murda.” (Vlad TV)

[audio] Uncle Murda feat Jay-Z- HE ASKED FOR IT (Fat Joe Diss?)

OK, apparently this joint dropped on Slay last night and had the town in a frenzy because there is an obvious diss thrown at Fat Joe by Hovito.  Now the back story on this song is its an old, unreleased recording that never saw the light of day, I guess Jay was to scared to pull the trigger.  Nonetheless, all the Jay lackeys are running around trying to pour water on this fuckery, but honestly who cares?

Word coming out of Brooklyn is that it may have lost another one of its home breed rappers. Reports are saying that a 30 year old man to be killed in a Downtown Brooklyn shootout may have been Brooklyn rapper Cavlar. News 12 Brooklyn are reporting the story and showing the deceased victim’s car (a maroon color Jaquar that looks like similiar to Cavlar’s vehicle. There are “RIP” comments appearing on his Myspace at presstime. Story DEVELOPING…

Update :
The above story has been confirmed and we welcome comments from you guys on the situation, just please stay away from saying that Uncle Murda had something to do with this case. Though they had some previous beef there is no evidence linking him to this case.
